Panaji: August 9, 2016 …. The District Magistrate , North Goa has ordered the following temporary arrangements on August 14 and 15 2016 on the occasion of Independence Day in Panaji.
The stretch of D.B.B. Marg from ferry wharf junction to Bandodkar statue both lanes will be closed for traffic flow from 8.00 p.m. of August 14, 2016, till the function is over on August 15, 2016. The vehicles entering Panaji city via New Patto Bridge on reaching Bandodkar statue will be allowed to take left turn and proceed behind Old Secretariat to take left turn near Joao Castro Road- Match Corner to proceed to their destinations via M.G. Road.
The vehicular traffic desiring to go out of Panaji, on reaching ferry wharf will be diverted in front of Police Head Quarters to proceed to Health Centre, Commerce point, Church Square to proceed via Jose Falcao road, Joao Castro Road and exit via Old Patto Bridge or via Cortin to proceed to Old Patto Bridge.
The traffic desiring to enter Panaji city from Hotel Sona junction will be diverted towards Old Patto Bridge and to enter Panaji city via new Patto Bridge and the movement of traffic on Joao Castro road, Jose Falcao road and Dr. Pissurlekar road from Printing Press junction to Hotel Aaram junction will be reversed.
The DM has also directed the Supdt. of Police Traffic, Altinho, Panaji to make all the necessary traffic arrangements on August 14, 2016 and August 15, 2016 and to erect required cautionary traffic sign boards at all the location for the information of the general public.
