June 25, 2015 …. Anti Narcotic Cell of Goa Police today organized a five kilometer marathon race on the tar road from Miramar Circle to ‘Divja Circle’, Panaji under the title “Run Against Narcotic Drugs” as part of awareness on ill effects of narcotic drugs.
Inspector General of Police Shri Sunil Garg, IPS flagged off the race in the distinguished presence of DIG (Crime and Range) V. Renganathan, SP (ANC) Shri Kartik Kashyap, SP(HQ),Shri Vishram Borkar, SP(S), Shri Shekar Prabhudessai and others.
Male and female athletes above the age of sixteen years participate in the event. The registration will commence at 06.00 a.m. The race commenced at 07.00 a.m. from Miramar. A cash prize of Rs. 7777/-, Rs. 4444/- and Rs. 2222/-each were awarded to the three winners in male and female category, so also the trophies and the commendation certificates..
In male category Shri Amarnath Chauhan of Military Training Regiment, Bambolim bagged the first place, Shri Francisco Clement of the Goa Fire Force bagged the second place and Shri Nitesh Kumar Gupta of the 6TTR Bambolim bagged the third place while in the female category the first prize was bagged by Miss Danita Diniz of RCC fatorda, the second prize was bagged by Miss Prachi Naik of PTS Valpoi and thierd prize was bagged by Miss Sonali Kambli also of PTS Valpoi.
