THREE SOCIAL SECURITY SCHEMES LAUCHED

Panaji, May 10, 2015 …. Governor of Goa Smt. Mrudula Sinha launched three ambitious Social Security Schemes Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana & Atal Pension Yojana in the distinguished presence of Chief minister Shri Laximikant Parsekar, Panjim MLA Shri Sidharth Kuncolienkar and other dignitaries at the Panjim Community centre .

 Speaking on the occasion Smt.  Sinha said that an efficient  government which is sensitive to the needs of the people is able to make just decisions and policies for the benefit of the people,  which are consistent with the interest of the country as a whole. She expressed happiness that three new major ambitious Social security schemes pertaining to the insurance and pension sector are being launched  for the benefit of people . The people of the country are happy and  are in a festive mood.

Speaking further she said that these schemes are in a simplified form and the people she said  always welcome  such good initiatives.

Chief Minister Shri Laximikant Parsekar  said that this was the   path breaking initiative by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi towards providing affordable universal access to essential social security protection in a convenient manner linked to auto-debit facility from the bank account of the subscriber. People of the country he said are fortunate to have a Prime Minister who has come up from a grassroot level secondly he said that Shri Modi was the first Prime Minister who was a Chief Minister of a state and therefore he could understand the pulse of the common people. While explaining the schemes in brief, the Chief Minister said that all the eligible people from Goa can avail the benefit of all the three schemes. He appreciated the banks for crossing the pre-launch target that was given to them.

          MLA and Chairman of Economic Development Corporation Shri Siddarth Kuncolienkar also spoke on the occasion.

  Chief  Secretary Shri R. K. Srivastava, Finance Secretary, Dr. Sharat Chauhan were also present. Earlier Chief General manager SBI Mumbai Circle Shri Sudhir Dubey welcomed the gathering while General Manger SBI Shri Hardayal Prasad proposed a vote of thanks.

 The seven venues where the schemes was  launched today  are community hall, Mala, Panaji; Lohia Maidan, Margao; old bus stand, Ponda; Curchorem bus stand; Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali; Mapusa taxi stand and a Vasco ground.
