state government opens goa regional plan for public suggestions

02/12/2015 … After being kept pending for thee-and-half years, the state government finally kept open the Goa Regional Plan 2021 for public suggestions from December 1st which will be followed by public hearing at the taluka level in the state.
According to the deputy chief minister francis dsouza RP-2021 would be notified in phases under which Regional Plan of Pernem and Sattari taluka will be notified in first phase and the plans of Salcete and Bardez talukas will be kept for last phase as they have more complications compared to other taluka plans.
It may be recalled that the Bharatiya Janata Party had promised to scrap the controversial Goa Regional Plan 2021 in its election manifesto in 2012 assembly election. However, after coming to power, BJP-led government had issued an order to freeze all the developments under RP-2021.
Speaking to media reporters at porvorim Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza said that his government would take into account over 3500 suggestions which were received by the TCP department.
Mr dsouza said that every mla would be taken in to confidence while deciding on the regional plan
Mr dsouza also stated that every decision on regional plan 2021 would be done as per the tcp act and the law
