In a letter faxed on 3rd of june to the commissioner of the corporation city of panjim the south goa collector n d agarwal has said that the statements made by the ccp mayor surendra furtado during his press briefing about 95% shops being illegal in panjim market was never brought to his notice during the inquiry process and that the copy of the said report should be made available to him
It may be noted that the inquiry report of the panjim market committee which had to be submitted to the corporation by 30th of April was later delayed till 30th of may by the south goa collector n d agarwal asking for more time to prepare the final report but after the expiry of the final date of 30th of may mr agarwal once again asked for another 15 days more to submit its final report
Speaking to goanreporter st cruz mla babush monsoratte said that there was no reason for the south goa collector n d agarwal to go on what the ccp mayor or commissioner says and the issue raised by agarwal was nothing but to buy time to save certain people who had done illegalities in panjim market
Monsoratte said since there were hurdles being created in to the inquiry process of the panjim market irregularities time had come to hand over the inquiry to a person who had clean image and reputation in society at large such as a retired high court judge
Meanwhile ccp mayor surendra furtado said that he was surprised to note that mr agarwal who has been following the issue of panjim market illegalities for the past three months had suddenly arise informing that he was unaware of 95% shops being illegal in panjim market
