Panaji: September 01, 2019 ….The Commission has observed on previous occasions and during the General Elections to Lok Sabha 2019, that many complaints with respect to the discrepancies in the electoral roll were received from the electors/citizens, emerging the need for correcting and authenticating the demographic details and images of all the electors in the electoral roll in a campaign mode with the help of SVEEP, by involving the electors to achieve the improvement of the health of Electoral Roll.
Accordingly, the Commission has directed to launch a special Electors Verification Programme (EVP) during the pre-revision period before the actual start of Summary Revision 2020.
The Citizens are requested upon to come forward and authenticate the existing electors’ details relating thereto, by giving a copy of one of the following documents: (1) Indian Passport, (2) Driving Licence, (3) Aadhaar Card, (4) Ration Card, (5) Identity Card for Government/Semi-Government officials, (6) Bank Passbooks, (7) Farmer’s Identity Card
The Electors may verify the existing details in the Electoral Roll through “Voter Helpline” mobile app or login at NVSP Portal. They can also visit the Common service Centres (CSCs) or Voter Facilitation Centre at ERO Office. The PwD electors may call on 1950 i.e. Voter Helpline.
The Schedule for Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with respect to January 01, 2020 as the qualifying date, is as follows:
The Pre-Revision Activities are as follows-From September 01, 2019 till September 30, 2019 there will be Electors Verification Programme (EVP) and House to House verification by the BLOs.
The Revision Activities are as follows- Publication of Integrated draft electoral Roll will be on October 15, 2019. Period for filing of Claims and Objections is from October 15, 2019 to November 30, 2019.
Special Campaign Dates will be November 02 and 03, 2019 and November 09- 10, 2019. Disposal of Claims and Objections will be done by December 15, 2019. Checking of Health parameters and obtaining Commissions permission for final publication will be done by December 25, 2019. Updating database and printing of supplements will be done by December 31, 2019. Final Publication of Electoral Roll will be from January 01, 2020 to January 15, 2020 as decided by the Commission.
