SALE AND USE OF PLASTIC FLAGS PROHIBITED

Panaji: August 7, 2016  … On the National Days and other important days, lot of National Flags made either of plastic or other materials are sold to people in large numbers out of patriotism for the nation.

The District Magistrate, South Goa has appealed and brought to the notice of the public that the sale of plastic flags is prohibited.

Public should refrain from purchase of plastic flags and in case, they found any person selling plastic flags they should inform the Police stations, Chief Officers of respective Municipal councils, V.P Secretaries of the various Panchayats and the ADEIs.

However, it is seen that many times these National Flags are thrown on the road or in the gutters and other places after the functions, mostly unintentionally.

This is an offence and violations of the National flag code of India. The offender is liable for punishment under these Acts.
