Panaji, January 17, 2018 … The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Altinho, Panaji, Goa has informed that the Final Electoral Roll with inclusion of all the eligible voters and deletion of all absentee, shifted and dead voters is being published on January 10, 2018. The copies of Electoral Roll are available for inspection at Offices of Electoral Registration officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers of the concerned constituency. The details are also available with the BLO of respective part of the constituency. The public is informed kindly to check their names and details in the Electoral Roll to confirm that the correct details are recorded in the Electoral Roll.
The special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll w.r.t. 01/01/2018 was undertaken in the State of Goa as per the instructions of Election Commission of India from 18/09/2017 to enrol all the eligible voters attaining the age of 18 years of age as on 01/01/2018 and also to enrol the left out voters.
During the summary Revision of Electoral Roll 2018 which commenced with draft publication of Electoral Roll, the period of receiving claims and objection was initially from 18/09/2017 to 17/10/2017. Commission vide notification 23/10/2017 extended the period of filing claims and objections upto 30/11/2017. The commission by subsequent notification dated 30/11/2017 further extended the date of receiving claims and objections as special drive till 15/12/2017 to facilitate the left our voters to enrol themselves in the Electoral Roll.
According to schedule of special summary revision 24/09/2017 and 08/10/2017 were notified as special campaign dates (Sundays) wherein the Booth Level Officers were available at respective Polling Booths for accepting claims and objections.
The updated photo Electoral Rolls which are being published on 10/1/2018 reflect total Electoral Population of 11,19,777 with 5,49,893 males and 5,69,884 females. The draft roll which was published on 18/09/2017 had total male voter population of 5,46,491 and female population 5,64,470 with a total voter population of 11,10,961. Total 24,812 forms were received for inclusion of name out of which 22247 were accepted and 2565 were rejected. In total 14,384 applications were received for deletion out of which 13,431 applications were accepted and the deletions were effected accordingly. The net increase after effecting deletions was 8816 bringing the strength the current electoral roll to 11,19,777.
