June 27, 2015 ….. Governor of Goa Smt. Mrudula Sinha said that drugs effect health and lead to illnesses, which can be expensive to cure and therefore she suggested that the youths should switch over to healthy activities such as Yoga for a healthy life free from drugs.

While lauding the role of Goa police in creating awareness against drug trafficking and drug abuse she said that communities also can also make a major contribution. Families, schools and civil society can do their part to rid their children and youths of drugs.
The Governor said that abuse and the illicit trafficking of drugs is an evil in our society. Narcotic Drugs will in no way meet and solve the problems of life and therefore one should live a healthy life away from the drugs.
SPs Shri Bosco George, Smt. Priyanka Kashyap, Shri Atmaram Deshpande, Shri Shekar Prabhudessai and others were present on the occasion.
Prizes were presented to the winners of various competitions such as poster competition, running race and others organized by the Anti Narcotic Cell during the week long programme.
Anti-drug pledge was administered to all present on the occasion. Students of Don Bosco College staged a street play.
Earlier a rally of school student was taken out from Kala Academy to the Institute Menezes Braganza hall where it was culminated into the function.
Earlier IGP Shri Sunil Garg in his welcome address said that Goa Police have conducted several programmes during the week to creating awareness on the issue. SP (ANC) Shri Kartik Kashyap proposed a vote of thanks.
