The decision was taken after the congress president Sonia Gandhi had agreed to the proposal and resolution of the executiv4e committee of goa Pradesh congress committee for taking stern action against all the party leaders who have worked against the party and are committing acts of discipline accordingly congress president Gandhi considering the conduct and acts of indiscipline of st cruz constituency mla shri atansio monsoraate has decided to expel mr monosoratte for a term of six years

Meanwhile speaking to goanreporter over the issue st cruz mla babush monsoratte said that he had been expecting the decision for a long time from the congress party though he had not received any imitation over the same till date

Monsoratte stated that he was happy and relieved from the party which was ruined by certain vested interest party leaders

Monsoratte also stated that being expelled from the congress party had given him more opportunity to approach the ruling government and get his work done

on Monday fr rebello along with the member of the goans for dabolim only had met the chairman of goa state pollution control board jose noronha and had appraised him about the illegal eia and illegal public hearing being recently conducted on mopa airport after which the office of pollution control board in a statement to news papers had reported that pcb duty was only to conduct public hearing and compile and submit the minutes to moef and have no say in the public hearing or in any other respect …

After the final day of withdrawal of nominations forms out of twenty six candidates who had filed their nomination forms from various zilla panchayats constituencies of st cruz, taleigao, chimbel, corlim and st Lawrence nine candidates withdrew their nominations on Monday before the deadline of withdrawal nomination was over taking up the final tally to 17 candidates …

Stating that there were certain section of mla’s who were against giving certain powers to zilla panchayat members St andre mla Vishnu surya wagh has once again come in support of the zilla panchayat members saying that more powers were needed to be given to zilla parishad if developmental works had to be done under the zilla panchayat …

It may be noted that recently Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar had indicated that his government would devolve more powers to zilla panchayats in Goa after the zp elections were held but had declined to give details as what type of powers would they be due to the prevalent code of conduct

While zp members had criticized the state government for not giving certain powers for the functioning of zilla panchayat in the state
