Passport Mela on 5th March

Panaji, March 04, 2016 … Passport Office, Panaji will be organizing Passport Mela on Saturday, 5th March 2016 for Normal Fresh/Re-issue passport applications in its Passport Seva Kendra.

All applicants who would like to take the benefit of this Mela should carry Application Reference Number Sheet which has respective details and appointment of above date and visit Panaji Passport Seva Kendra.

Online registration with filling of forms is to be done at www.passportindia.gov.in website with the applicable fees. Online appointment has to be taken. Entry to the Mela will be allowed only to applicants with valid ARN with online appointments.

Applicants should carry required set of Original documents along with photocopies duly attested. Kindly note Tatkaal, On-Hold, Walk-in and Police Clearance Certificates applications will not be entertained in the Mela.   

DOE INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR TEACHERS NATIONAL AWARD

Panaji: March 3, 2016 … Directorate of Education invites applications from eligible Teachers for National Award 2015 under Primary and Secondary Category.

The application forms from National Award 2015 under the category of Primary and Secondary Teachers are available in the A.D.E.I. Office of all Talukas.

The duty filled in application forms in all respects are to be submitted to the Directorate of Education (Adm.III) through proper channel i.e. Office of the D.E.O. of their respective Talukas/ Zones on or before 17 March, 2016.

ADMISSION TO 50% STATE QUOTA P/G DIPLOMA SEATS AT GMC.

Panaji: March 3, 2016 … The Goa Medical college has invited Applications  from eligible  candidates who have obtained their permanent Registration with Medical council of India, State Medical Council and have appeared for AIPGMEE- 2016 for admissions to 50% state Quota post Graduate Degree/ Diploma seats of Goa University at Goa Medical College for the academic year 2016-17.

Admissions shall be on the basis of Rules and Regulations notified in the Government Gazette of India No. 44 dated 25th March 2009. Calculation of Aggregate Academic Merit and Bond implementation shall be as per Government Gazette series I No. 36 dated December 8, 2015.

The Provisional additional seats that are offered from academic year (2010) are as per the directives of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India vide letter No. U.12012/988/2009-ME(P.II) dated January

5, 2010 and in accordance with MIC vide their letter Nos.MIC-23 (1) 2009-Med./53390 dated  November 30, 2009 & vide letter No.MCI-23(1) 2009-Med./73706 dated February 13, 2010.The newly permitted 11 PG  Degree seats are As per directives of MCI vide letter No. U.12012/977/2014-ME(P.II) dated February 27, 2015.As per directives of MCI vide letter No.MCI-34(1) (Gen.)2009-/2509, 3% of PG Seats are  allocated to PH Candidates fulfilling the MCI criteria.

Details of seats available and Rules to be followed are displayed on Notice Board of Goa Medical college, Bambolim. As per the schedule for completion of counseling-cum-admission for 50% post Graduate under State Quota the date of Inviting applications is March 14, 2016.The last date receipt of applications is April 28, 2016.  (by 5:00pm.)

Last date for joining the allotted course after 1st round on April 22, 2016. Second round of Counseling- cum Admission is May 20, 2016 and last date for joining the allotted course after 2nd round is May 27, 2016. Commencement of Academic Session/Term may 01 2016. Last date up to which students can be admitted / joined against vacancies  arising due to any reason is May 31, 2016.

The above schedule is as per orders of Hon’ble Supreme court of India dated: Jan18, 2016 in IA 7 & 8 in Writ petition 314 & 328 of 2015 and is subject to change upon subsequent Orders (if any) from Hon.Court/MCI/MOHFW. Additional post Graduate Admission rounds may be held at short notice upon orders from above higher regulatory authorities. Hence applicants are requested to follow college Notice Board and website regularly.

 Venue & Time of counseling-cum-admission at Conference Hall, next to office of Dean, GMC from 2.30 pm onwards. Candidates must remain present in person during each Round of Counseling- cum Admission with all original documents along with attested copies

DHIRIO’S PROHIBITED IN STATE

March 2, 2016 … The State Government once again pursuant to the High Court  Judgment in  writ petition no. 347/1996 has directed that all types of animals fights including Bull fights/Dhirios are prohibited in the State of Goa and  if any person violating the above order passed by the High Court shall be liable for criminal action as per law.

The High Court of Bombay at Goa while disposing off the writ petition no. 347/1996 had observed  that the Bull fights or Dhirios are in contravention of the provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1968, and therefore, illegal and cannot be permitted to be organized and are prohibited in the State.

ALL GOA QUIZ COMPETITION ON WELFARE SCHEMES OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT

Panaji: March 1, 2016 …. The Department of Information and Publicity will organize All Goa Quiz Competition for Higher Secondary and college level students on the theme welfare schemes of the State Government.

The competition will be held in the Institute Menezes Braganza hall in the city on March 8, 2016. The Competition which will commence at 9.30 am will be conducted in two phases preliminary and final round. Each team will comprise of two students, so far the department has received 35 entries from 35 educational institutions in the state  and by March 8, more schools are expected to participate in the contest.

The winners of the competition will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 10000, Rs 7500 and Rs 5000 for the first, second and third place respectively, besides a certificate and a trophy . Three consolation prizes of  Rs 1000 each will also be awarded and a certificate of participation for every participant.

The quiz master will be Shri Naguesh Sardessai who will research and do the requisite presentation.

This is for the first time that the quiz competition on welfare schemes of the Government is being held in the state which is aimed at creating greater awareness among the students community  for dissemination and propagation of welfare schemes of the Government.

APARANT MAND IN PONDA FROM MARCH 12

Panaji: March 1, 2016 … The GHRSSIDC is organizing Aparant  Maand 2016, an Handicrafts Exhibition at Aguiar Ground, Ponda-Goa from March 12 to March 21, 2016.

It is decided to set up 100 Stalls for sale and display of Handicrafts items of Goan Artisans.

Various Entertainment programmes will be held during the entire duration of the Aparant Maand from 10.00am. to 8.00pm. Every day.

Panaji:February 29, 2016 … Power shut down has been arranged on 11KV City feeder, Ansolem section between 9.00a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on March 1, 2016. Areas affected are Ansolem village & Bandu crusher & surrounding areas.

Similarly, on 11 KV Saleli  feeder  from  Pissurlem Panchayat to Fomento office section on March  2,  2016, from 9.00am to 2.00pm. Areas affected are Pissurlem village, Ovde, Advoi, vantem & Mhadai, & surrounding areas.

Similarly, on 11KV Thana feeder, Lakhanpal section on March 3, 2016, from 9.00am to 2.00pm. Areas affected are Lakhanpal DTC & surrounding areas.

Similarly, on 11KV Nagargao feeder Kumyachighat section on March 4, 2016, from 9.00 to 2.00pm. Areas affected are all villages under V.P. Nagargao & surrounding areas.

SPECIAL AADHAAR ENNROLLMENT DRIVES IN MORMUGAO TALUKA

Panaji: February 28, 2016 … The Government of Goa is organizing Special Aadhaar Enrollment Drives for the residents of Mormugao Taluka in South Goa District with special emphasis on enrollment of children in the age-group of 0-18 years. 

The residents of Mormugao taluka, Schools/Educational Institutions and Child Development Programme Officers at the Block level are requested to come forward and ensure all the residents not enrolled for Aadhaar get enrolled during these drives from 9.00am onwards at following centers.

 Village Panchayat Majorda on March 1, 2016, Village Panchayat Cansaulim on March 2, Village Panchayat Nagoa on March 3, Village Panchayat Verna on March 4, Village Panchayat Velsao-Pale on March 5, Village Panchayat Sancoale on March 8, Village Panchayat Chicolna on March 9, Village Panchayat Chicalim on March 10, Village Panchayat Cortalim on March 11,

 Besides this drive, residents from Mormugao Taluka can visit the Aadhaar Permanent Enrollment centers in Vasco at Office No. 304, Metha House, Opp. Old Natraj Theatre, Besides YES Bank Building, Vasco Da Gama, Goa or in Margao at Office No. 21, First Floor, Vasant Arcade Building, Near Popular High School, Above Kotak and Ratnakar Bank and Tata Dokomo, Comba, Margao, Goa at all working days from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. The public are requested to therefore participate in this drive. Aadhaar enrollment is free of cost.

GOVERNOR INAUGURATES INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “THE CULTURE OF FOOD: LITERATURE AND SOCIETY’

Panaji: Feb. 27, 2016 ….The Governor of Goa, Dr.(Smt.) Mridula Sinha inaugurated  International Conference on “ The Culture of Food: Literature and Society’ organized by MES College of Arts  & Commerce, Zuarinagar ( Departments of English and Travel & Tourism at Velsao, Cansaulim recently.

Speaking on the occasion Dr, Sinha said that food is a basic necessity of mankind. One should eat to live and should not live to eat. The mood of the cook needs to be happy.  The same is also reflected on the dish prepared by him or her where in the fifth senses of human being plays an important role.  

The Governor further said that we are gradually drifting away from the trend of community food. The society used to gather in times of festivals where there was attachment among each other which is gradually fading away. Now a days, the children do not get the opportunity to taste the food prepared by their mother as she mostly stays away to supplement the family income, she remarked.

The Governor also impressed  upon the need to follow the art of serving and hoped that the conference will come out with fruitful deliberation.

Shri M.S. Kamat Founder Principal and  Dr. Cidalia Bodate, Convenor of the Conference spoke on the occasion.
