INTERSTATE CULTURAL EVENTS HELPS IN PROPAGATING NATIONAL UNITY:CM

Panaji : November 2, 2016 …. Inter state Cultural events plays very important role in propagating national unity, stated Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar during a function organized by Bal Bhavan Panaji today at Kala Acadamy.

The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating inter state cultural programme organised by Bal Bhavan to showcase multi faceted talent of children.  The function also aims at  giving a platform for traditional  culture and  folk art of neighbouring states.

The  Chief Minister Congratulated Bal Bhavan, Goa for organizing this event and said that Such programme which contains traditional folk culture of different states is much needed to propagate the feeling of unity among the people.

Although Our country has diverse culture, events rich with different traditional art integrates the nation in real sense, Chief Minister further added.  He lauded efforts made by children of various Bal Bhavan to showcase rich cultural art hails from different states.   

Children participated in this programme were from Garware Bal Bhavan, Aurangabad, Rangaprabhath Bal Bhavan, Kerala. Banglore and Mumbai Bal Bhavan. 

This is the first time that Bal Bhavan, has engaged children from neighbouring states in order to inter -exchange the cultural heritage and folk songs, dance of Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa, Chairperson of  Bal Bhavan, Goa Smt. Kunda Chodankar informed.  

Director of Bal Bhavan Shri. Santosh Amonkar,  Shri. Hemant Golatkar, Programme Officer Shri. Shashikant Punaji, Officials of  Various Bal Bhavan were present at the programme.

One-day Vipassana Meditation Course

Extensive RTI awareness program to kick off from Nov. 5

panaji: November 2nd, 2016 …. An Extensive ten days Right to Information (RTI) awareness drive with a multimedia vehicle ‘RTI on Wheels’ accompanied by RTI experts from Gujarat and Goa will kick off from November 5th 2016.

          A joint initiative of Mahiti Adhikar Gujarat Pahel (MAGP), The Goa Information Commission and the Goa RTI Forum(GRF) the drive will be held across Goa in rural as well as urban areas  from 5th to 15th November 2016.  

“The empowering Right To Information Act(RTI) is being brought to the doorstep of citizens of Goa through  the RTI on Wheels campaign. I appeal to the government machinery specially the PIO’s, Appellate Authorities etc. to take advantage of the National level RTI experts coming to their localities,” said Chief Information Commissioner Shri. Prashant Tendulkar.

The primary objective of the campaign is to empower citizens by making them aware of the appropriate usage of the powerful Right to Information Act 2005 for a stronger and healthier democracy. The campaign will include outreach programmes on the public places like bus stands, markets, fairs etc.  Various publications on RTI which will help citizens understand the applicability of the act will also be made available to public.  Seminars, workshops and brief RTI orientations will be held for all categories of audience including villagers, women’s groups, school/college students, teachers, workers unions etc. during the ten days awareness drive in Goa. 

Pankti Jog, Executive Secretary, MAGP who hails from Sonal, Sattari said that they have held similar campaigns in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir and the response has been overwhelming. “The focus of the campaign is to make citizens understand how RTI can be used as tool to empower people, and mobilize stakeholders, for individual problem solving, influencing policies and for also advocacy purpose,” she added.

“It is appealed that Goan colleges, institutions, and citizens groups active in various fields to use this opportunity to interact with RTI experts – local as well as the team coming from Gujarat,” said Goa RTI Forum Secretary Ganpat Kurtikar.

MAGP and Goa RTI forum has appealed to social organizations, educational institutions and Government as well as Non government organization to take maximum benefit from this initiative by facilitating the said RTI Awareness programs in their respective areas.

INTER STATE CULTURAL PROGRAMME ORGANISED BY BAL BHAVAN

Panaji : November 1st, 2016 ….. Bal Bhavan Panaji has organised interstate Cultural programme on 2 and 3 November 2016 at Kala Acadamy and Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir Ponda respectively, in order to showcase multi faceted talent of children. Children of Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra will participate, in the programme along with children from Goa, informed by Chairman of Bal Bhavan, Goa smt   Kunda Chodankar in a press conference held at Panaji.

Programme organised at Kala Acadamy on 2nd November will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Shri. Laxmikant Parsekar. Similarly Member of Parliament Shri. Narendra Sawaikar will inaugurate the programme  on 3rd November at 4. Pm.

This is the first time that Bal Bhavan, has engaged children from neighbouring states in order to provide platform to those children. This exercise will help to inter -exchange the cultural heritage and folk songs, dance of Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa. Children participating in this programme are from Garware Bal Bhavan, Aurangabad, Rangaprabhath Bal Bhavan, Kerala. Banglore and Mumbai Bal Bhavan, Smt. Chodankar further told media person.

Around 1000 Children of 50 centres of Bal Bhavan Goa will also be part of this cultural programme. Both programmes are open to the  public.

Besides Cultural Programme, Bal Bhavan has organised Art, Craft and clay exhibition cum sale in Bal Bhavan hall from 2 to 5 November 2016. This exhibition will be open from 10 am to 6pm. Smt. Chodankar also informed that Bal Bhavan is moving ahead to open outlet, where all the creative items made by children will be kept for sale. Outlet will be placed at Bal Bhavan Panaji.

Goa’s First Multilevel Car Parking Inaugurated: Free Parking till November 7

Panaji, November, 1st, 2016 …. Defence Minister, Shri Manohar Parrikar and Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar inaugurated Goa’s First Multilevel Level Car Parking on today at Patto, Panaji. Tourism Minister Shri Dilip Parulekar, Goa Tourism Development Corporation(GTDC) Chairman Shri Nilesh Cabral, Panaji MLA Shri Sidharth Kuncalieker, GTDC Managing Director Shri Nikhil Desai, Director of Tourism Department Shri. Sanjeev Gawas Desai, TTAG President Shri. Savio Messias and Industrialist Shri. Gaurish Dhond were also present at the function among others.

 This much awaited project by GTDC is a ground + four floors parking hub with total capacity of 465 cars spread in area of 2586.97 sqmtr along with a terrace and Open area. There are two independent circular ramps provided for free movement of vehicles for entry and exit. The project is also friendly to people with physical disabilities with special amenities to be included soon.

 Speaking on the occasion, Defence Minister Shri Parrikar congratulated the Government for completing one of the most needed projects in the state. “This project is built after a lot of study and research to stop traffic congestion. Locals as well as the tourists should take due advantage of this project in order to have a smooth ride in the state.” He said.   Quoting the upcoming Mandovi bridge, Parrikar assured a complete traffic de-congestion and declared its inauguration by December 2017.

 Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar stated that this project is a boon to the state as a steep rise of 20% each year is seen in the number of tourists. “This is a unique project with State-of-the-Art facility. The quality of this project, along with other mega Government projects, will surely change people’s perception towards Government constructions. We shall surely have more such projects in Panaji and other parts of the state,” he added.

 Tourism Minister Shri Parulekar, GTDC Chairman Shri Cabral and Panaji MLA Shri Kuncalieker also spoke on the occasion. The Defence Minister later felicitated Kum Sanjana Prabhugaonker who was selected to represent Team India to participate in Union International De Penthathlon Moderne (UIPM) 2016 Biathle World Championship in USA and won Silver Medal in Swimming in Youth E (Girls Category).

CHIEF MINISTER FELICITATES MERITORIOUS STUDENTS

PANAJI:-OCTOBER  31, 2016 …. Chief Minister, Shri Laxmikant Parsekar felicitated meritorious students from Pernem for securing highest marks at the 10th and 12th Goa Board Examinations in the academic year 2015-2016.  The felicitation program was organized by Urban Co-Operative Credit Society at Shri Satteri Temple Agarwada, in Mandrem recently.

Director of Urban Co-Operative Credit Society, Shri Dayanand Mandrekar, Vice-Chairperson, Shri Santosh Chodankar, Secretary, Shri Methu Fernandes, Registrar of Pernem, Shri Pandurang Sawant, Sarpanch of Agarwada, Smt Shashikala Damaji were present along with staff of the society and members of the temple committee.

Shri Laxmikant Parsekar while addressing the gathering appreciated the works done by the Urban Co- Operative Credit Society and said that the role of a financial institution is to facilitate growth in business and while doing, if they provide financial assistance to students, it is a commendable thing as it indirectly creates a future generation, that will be responsible towards their society.

COMPLETE WORK IN TIME: CM TELLS OFFICERS

Panaji, October 31, 2016 ….. “Do the work of people in time,” said Chief Minister, Shri Laxmikant Parsekar at the inauguration of Vigilance Awareness Week organised by the Directorate of Vigilance at the Goa Secretariat on Monday. While addressing the gathering comprising various Heads of Departments of the government, section officers and vigilance officers, Shri Parsekar said, “Measures such as observations should be resorted only as a means to encourage transparency and should not be used as any delay tactics.”

This year the theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week is ‘Public Participation in Promoting Integrity and Eradicating Corruption’. Complimenting the Directorate of Vigilance for organizing the week long observance, Shri Parsekar called for the rooting out of corruption at various levels. The day also marked the Birth Anniversary celebration of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Shri Parsekar called Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as the Iron Man of India, and said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel always stressed on the need for probity in life. “We need to emulate his teachings and principles, which are still relevant today, in life.”

Also, present was the Finance Secretary, Shri Daulat Hawaldar, IAS and the Director of the Directorate of Vigilance, Shri Narayan Sawant.  While speaking on the occasion, Shri Hawaldar said that that there is need to burn the Narkasurs (demons) of corruption and for that there was a need for introspection.

GFDC POIRA FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE THIRD KIT DISTRIBUTION

PANAJI: 31st october,…. The Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) recently distributed full kit to 120 trainees from Poira Football Development Centre at the hands of BJP MLA, Anant Shet and Aleixo da Costa, Member Secretary GFDC recently. Also present at the function were Urvi Masurkar, Sarpanch of Poira-Mayem and Narendra Tari, a panch member.

Anant Shet appreciated the efforts of GFDC for working so hard towards the development of football and the young trainees. “Education is important but sports is vital. I urge the kids to concentrate on both for intellectual and physical,” said Anant.

Speaking on the occasion Aleixo da Costa expressed pleasure in seeing young children in football attire provided by GFDC. He urged parents to encourage their children to take to the field and become budding footballers for the state. He also informed that kits were given to only those kids whose parents have signed an MOU with GFDC. “We do not only give the kids coaches and training but also bare their full expense in case they are injured. Currently we are having 38 centres and 3,608 trainees across the state,” he said.

“I would like to request the trainees to attend training daily and take part and do well in the intra- centre tournaments. Those who do well there will get a chance to represent their centre at the inter- centre tournaments, “added Aleixo.

62ND NATIONAL SCHOOL GAMES IN SQAY MARTIAL ARTS FROM NOV 4

The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Goa will be hosting the 62nd National School Games in Sqay Martial Arts U-14 & 17 years Boys and Girls and Tchoukball U-19 years Boys and Girls under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India from November 4-November 6, 2016 at Peddem Sports Complex, Peddem, Mapusa, Goa.

A total of 1200 participants including officials from various states and Union Territories are expected to participate.
