Even though the report on Panjim market illegalities was submitted to the city corporation on Friday Mayor of the corporation city of Panjim surendra furtado seems to have been not satisfied with the report submitted by the investing office n d agarwal and has made up his plans to appoint a retired judge who could look in to the matter once again and could submit his report within two months …

It may be noted that recently though ccp mayor furtado had stated that he was aware of some of the former and present councilors being involved in to the Panjim market illegalities he was surprised to noted that the report though having mentioned that illegalities were committed while allotting the shops in Panjim market had no names of any one being involved in the frauds which was totally false and baseless

Speaking to media reporter’s ccp mayor surendra furtado said that ccp had received the report from the state government which in turn would be put before the special council meet and that no comments would be given to the state government on it

Furtado said that the state government should stop taking a decision on the third face of the market until a final decision was taken on the illegalities committed on the first and second phase of the market

Furtado also raised his doubts over the market report prepared by south goa collector n d agarwal which had no names being mentioned as responsible for market illegalities

12-07-2013 … A day after multiple blasts rocked the Mahabodhi temple in BodhGaya, Bihar, the state tourism department has alerted the state police officials along with the 170 odd officials of the reserve force battalion to closely monitor the movements of tourists in and around the various tourist spots in and around the state.

it may be noted that the state of goa receives lakhs of tourist from all over the world round the year and with such incidents of multiple blasts taking place at certain place in other past of the country the state tourism taking no chances has alerted the goan security officials to keep a strict vigil on each and every tourism spot

 Speaking to goanreporter tourism minister dilip parulekar said that the stae chief minister manohar parrikar who was also the state home minister was aware of such incidents taking place around the country and had also taken precautionary measure to take care of any untoward incident

 Parulekar said that as a tourism minister of the state he was about to attend a meet workshop called on by the central tourism minister dr chiranjeevi where in issues of state tourism security and ladies security would be discussed by various state tourism ministers of the country

Parulekar also gave information about his meet with the central tourism minister dr chiranjeevi where in projects of worth 400 crores of rupees were discussed for the state tourism

11-07-2013 … After a day Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had hit back at the Congress for raising the bogey of casinos in to the state of goa former health minister and valpoi mla vishwajeet rane has reverted back on to the statements made by chief minister manohar parrikar stating that casinos in goa were brought during the regime of the sardinha led government of which the bjp party led by present chief minister manohar parrikar was a part of.

 It may be noted that drawing criticism from Congress on casinos, Parrikar speaking to media persons had said that the law to bring in casinos was made by the Congress and the first casino licence was given by the earlier Congress government and all subsequent casinos came to the State during the tenure of the Congress government and therefore there was a need for the congressman from the state to answer the people as how much money they have made by issuing licenses while his government has not granted any permission for casinos and that he had reduced the number parrikar had stated.

 Speaking to media reporters in Panjim former health minister and valpoi mla vishwajeet rane said that the first casino licence was given during the time of chief minister Francisco sardinha which had the backing of the present chief minister manohar parrikar …

It may be noted that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar while speaking at the state executive on Monday had announced that he would initiate action against Congress MLAs such as Chandrakant Kavlekar, Atanasio Monserrate, Digambar Kamat, Churchill Alemao and Vishwajit Rane before Diwali over their alleged involvement in scams during the erstwhile Congress regime and had also assured to take action against all former Congress ministers who were involved in corruption.

09-07-2013 … Members of the state nationalist congress party led by its president nilkhant halarnkar and senior vice president jose Philip dsouza on Monday submitted a memorandum to the additional director of education anil powar asking to roll back the decision of extension of school timings in to the state of goa

Addressing media persons after submitting the memorandum to the additional director of education former revenue minister and senior vice president of the state ncp party jose Philip dsouza demanded to roll back the extended timing of the schools which had created chaos and confusion in the schedule of thousand of parents and students in the state

Ncp spokesperson trojano dmello said that the right to education act was a benefit to the students and not to burden the school children such as the extension of school timings which was done without putting proper infrastructure in place first and without taking stake holders in to confidence too …

Meanwhile additional director of education anil powar said that he would put up the issue before the concerned committee which had decision on the extension of the school timings

08-07-2013 … The state congress party would soon move a breach of privilege motion against chief minister manohar parrikar for going against his words on casinos in the last state assembly session where in parrikar had mentioned that he would use casino money for old aged home people along with alzeimers patients and others

Addressing media person congress spokesperson and curtorim mla reginaldo lourenco said that that motion would be moved in next week before the speaker of goa legislative assembly rajendra arlekar due to the change of statements made by the chief minister on casinos issues

Commenting over the casinos issue Reginaldo also alleged that chief minister manohar parrikar was also making all out efforts to get floating casinos in zuari river by conniving with mpt chairman p mara pandiyan and also was in the process of giving a new licenses to start an off shore casino at pebble brook in porvorim belonging to a delhi based group

04-07-2013 … With a view to tackle Solid Waste issues in the village jurisdiction of Corlim ,panch members of the Village Panchayat of Corlim along with  Syngenta Santa Monica Works recently held its awareness on Dry waste recycling which was held at the village panchayat hall of Corlim Village

a number of locals participated in the awareness meet which was organized by the corlim village panchayat members with the support of a sygenta limited company situated in corlim village through its NGO Margdarshak, technical support was provided by (VRecycle) a private waste management services.

 Presently under the Pilot Project wet waste has been daily collected from wards of pda, mangado and other areas with done door to door collection twice a week covering more than 700 to 800 houses and recently has been extend to other wards in the Panchayat.

The aim of this project is to have a clean village free from dry waste by using a sustainable model that has cent collection compliance which is  an environment friendly and assuring almost 100% recycling of recyclables dry-waste.

 Initial address was given by deputy sarpanch of corlim village panchayat victor Pereira who explained the locals as how they would like to collect only dry waste in his ward and asked every local present to generously help the Panchayat in making this Project a success

Sygenta’s Project manager for solid waste management of Corlim village Andrew Dsouza also gave his views on the occasion

 Addressing locals over the issue of waste management consultant Clinton vaz of v-recycle made a presentation on how important it was to separate dry and wet waste after which locals from the village also rasied certain issues in front of the panch members
