Speaking to goanreporter senior vice president of the nationalist congress party jose Philip dsouza said though his central leaders have not yet intimated the state ncp party on such moves his still his party had no hesitation to welcome any such leaders who would like to join the ncp party and make it a strong party in the state

Philip said the central leaders would soon take a final call on whether to certain leaders from the state in to its party fold or not and the state party leaders would happily accept it and also said that his party had a strong candidate in north goa

Philip said that his party was any how confident of winning the north goal ok Sabha seat in the up coming lok Sabha elections

25-09-2013 … In a bit to tighten its act against those involved in various illegal activities inside the state of goa the state police department on Monday warned owners of rented premises in the state to provide complete details of tenants verification who are being rented in their respective rooms in and around the state of goa …

The advisory from the state police department comes in the wake of the upcoming tourist season which would start from October and go up till end of march as well as due to the recent issues such as terrorist asin bhatkal stay in goa, kidnapping, drugs, murder’s, vandalism  and thefts cases taking place in the state

Addressing media persons at the police head quarters director general of police o p mishra said that the state police department would carry out intensified tenant verification all over the state and also reorganize patrolling pattern at all state police stations

Commenting over the issue of terrorist yasin bhatkal case mishra said that the state police department would take strict action on those police officials who could be found guilty in lapses of carrying over thorough inquiry of bhatkal during his stay in goa

Mishra also stated that the state police department specially the anti narcotics cell would also be carrying out their strict investigation on those who would try to sell drugs in to the state of goa

24-09-2013 … Sports minister ramesh tawadkar on Friday paid a visit at the dilapidated merces ground and warned the contractor of bismillah constructions to finished of the ground work as per the satisfaction of the merces villagers

Tawadkar, who paid a visit to the Merces ground on Friday, gave the ultimatum after villagers expressed dissatisfaction over the inferior work on the ground and also complained to him about the adamant behavior of the contractor who insisted that the ground is complete and ready to use.

It may be recalled that due to the concerted efforts of Merces Sarpanch Walter D’- Sousa, the DSYA Director V M Prabhudessai had inspected the ground in June and had declared the surface not suitable for playing. He had then directed SAG officials to get the work redone from the contractor within two months.

Despite the deadline, the contractor failed to comply even as he maintained that the ground is ready to use.

Cornered from all sides, the contractor finally agreed to re- lay the surface with soft soil and carpet grass.

Tawadkar also stated that the introduction of lusofonia games had also helped the state to develop village panchayat grounds in the state

Business related to private members bills and resolutions would also be transacted on 11^th October after the government business

Speaking to goanreporter fatorda independent mla vijai sardessai said half of the mla’s on the state legislative assembly were sleeping and were least bothered to raise any questions in the house and therefore putting restrictions questions to be asked in the house on those mla’s who were trying to raise concerns issues of the state was totally undemocratic

Independent mla from porvorim constituency rohan khaunte said there was no reason to have any limitations on unstarred questions to be asked and the state government needed to give necessary information asked by the concerned mla’s

Speaking to goanreporter valpoi mla vishwajeet rane said that he was of the opinion that goans should definitely be not allowed to enter casinos and the state government had to see of setting up gaming regulatory body with an independent judge of a high court …

Rane said it was sad to know that the state government had not been able to put up a control mechanism on casinos operating in the state

Rane also stated that the law and order situation had totally failed in the state

It may be noted that the nuvem mla micky Pacheco who also runs event management company Bresources Event Management had recently anouced of organizing an Electronic Dance Music festival in south goa on 27^th 28^th and 29^th of December the days when the sunburn event is supposed to be held in the state so as to compete with the sun burn event

 Recently the Tourism minister Dilip Parulekar had also stated that he was not in favour of Sunburn, an annual electronic dance music festival, being held in Candolim as the event caused traffic jams and inconvenience to the people of Candolim due to which the venue of sunburn could be shifted to south or stay in north goa..

 Speaking to media reporters porvorim mla rohan khaunte said he was happy to know that goans were also coming forward in organizing such type of big festival in to the state

 Rohan said that it was sad to note that the organizers of sun burn had taken the state government for granted and had also started selling his tickets before the permission could be given for the event

17-09-2013 … In a bid to promote setting up of garbage treatment sites in state village panchayat’s the directorate of panchayats has given over administrative approvals to over 24 village panchayat’s all over goa …

According to the directorate of panchayat’s office there are more than hundred village panchayats out of 190 panchayat’s who have identified garbage treatment site in their respective village panchayats

Speaking to goanreporter directorate of panchayats narayan sawant said Through the garbage management scheme his office had asked village panchayats to identify their respective sites and as per our report around 100 plus panchayats have identified their sites though it was not finalized ……

Commenting over the changes in the amendment rules to the goa panchayat raj act sawant said that the amendments were in the final stage where in there was a suggestion to give the delimitation process to the state election commission on which the government has considered and were working on it

Sawant also stated that certain amendments would also be brought at the gram Sabha which were very important at panchayat level as the gram sabhas were very important for the people to play a very important role in the development of the village
