GOVERNOR INTERACTS WITH TRIBAL WOMEN ON UNIFORM CIVIL CODE

Panaji : October 28, 2016 … Governor Dr. (Smt) Mridula Sinha today interacted tribal women of Goa, regarding Uniform Civil Code in the meeting held at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula. Governor was happy to learn that many of the women belong to tribal communities are aware of their rights related to Uniform Civil Code.http://kahovka-service.ru

While addressing these women Governor said that, the women should come together and find out solutions for the civic problems in their localities. Many of the problems can be solved if women contribute collectively, Governor further added.

Governor also seized the opportunity to learn Social and cultural aspects of these women in their day to day life. Women from Sattari, Tiswadi, Sanguem, Quepem, Canacona participated in this meeting.  Governor was informed about how religious ceremonies are performed in the communities of tribal. She was also informed about Goan rich folk culture which is still retained in these communities. In this regard Governor expressed the need to conserve this folk culture by teaching folk song, dances to new generations without any hesitation.

Governor also tried to find out, whether these women are aware about cleanliness and if they contribute towards the cause of Swachh Bharat . She also attended to the grievances raised by women related to toilets and road facilities in the tribal areas, and assured to look into the matter.

MAINTAIN CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE IN SCHOOL PREMISES- GOVERNOR

Panaji : October 27, 2016 …. Governor Dr. (Smt) Mridula Sinha today held a meeting with Headmasters, Principals of Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools  in Goa. The Meeting was held at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula in connection with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. In the Meeting Governor urged the Headmasters to make efforts in order to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the school Premises.

          Governor expressed happiness as many of the schools have already initiated different types of programmes towards Swacch Bharat Abhiyan. She said that, if importance of cleanliness is taught during childhood days, goal of this mission can be achieved in true sense. In this regard teacher can play a vital role in inculcating values of cleanliness among the students.

          Mission of cleanliness is not only restricted to physical cleaning of an area, but this mission also relates to cleanliness of heart and mind of an individual and building the positive attitude in the life, Governor further reiterated.

          In the meeting many suggestions were discussed with positive response from teachers, to initiate Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in their respective school.

          While some of the Headmasters informed the Governor about the efforts taken by their institutions towards Swacch Bharat Abhiyan.

PANCHAYATI RAJ MINISTER LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR PANCHAYAT BULDING PROJECT OF V.P. CAUREM, PIRLA

Panaji, 27 October 2016 … Minister for Panchayati Raj, Environment and Forests Shri. Rajendra Arlekar laid foundation stone for the construction of new Panchayat Ghar building project of Village Panchayat Caurem – Pirla in Sanguem Constituency. This project of Ground floor plus two floor stories building is taken up for Rs. 1 Crore 44 Lakhs under Deendayal Panchayti Raj Infrastructure Development (Golden Jubilee) Scheme.

       Present on the Occasion were M L A of Sanguem constituency and Chairman of Goa state Information and Technology Corporation Shri. Subhash Phaldessai, President of South Goa Zilla Panchayat Shri. Navnath Naik, Sarpanch of V.P. Caurem – Pirla Shri. Tolyo Gaonkar, Deputy Sarpanch Smt. Rashmila Velip, Panch member Shri. Satyawan Devidas, Shri. Rajendra Faldessai, Smt. Namita Gaonkar, Director for Directorate of Panchayats Shri. Gurudas Pilarnekar, BDO Shri. Bhagwant Karmali, Sarpanch of V.P. Netravali Shri. Shashikant Gaonkar, Sarpanch of V.P. Assolda Shri. Dayanand Naik and others.

While speaking on the occasion Shri. Rajendra Arlekar highlighted the developmental projects which are taken up in the state by Government  and said that Govt. is committed  to the development of the state.He thanked the Dessai family for donating the land for this panchayat building project and urged big landlords of State to donate land for various Government projects as land acquiring process for government projects is not yet finalized and because of this various innovative projects are pending. Shri. Arlekar said.

          In this Panchayat building project there will be space for Animal Husbandary and Electricity Department and also there will be a multipurpose hall which will solve all needs of the peoples of Caurem – Pirla Village he said. He said Government is People Friendly and is taking care of all. He also declared that Mangal Road which is going through forest will be opened again. He said that Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi is very much sensitive about the issues and problems of the peoples who reside in Forest areas and he also declared that to solve their problems even the Forest Act will also be changed if needed.

           MLA Shri. Subhash Phaldessai said that Netravali, Uguem and Caurem – Pirla this three village Panchayats new bulding Project proposals from Sanguem Costituency were in Goas first 14 Panchayt Building Project list  which have been approved by Govt. He also said that many Play Grounds work in Sanguem Constituency is in progress. All round development of Sanguem Costituency is taken up by the Government he said. Government is for Infrastructural, Education and Economical Development of the society he said.

         Shri. Navnath Naik and Shri. Rajendra Falldessai also spoke on the occasion. Sarpanch Shri. Tolyo Gaonkar welcomed. Shri. Suresh Kepekar compared while Shri. Satyawan Devidas gave vote of thanks. Stipulated period for completion of this project is 15 Months.

 

NO KEROSENE FOR RATION CARD HOLDERS HAVING GAS CONNECTION

Panaji: October 26, 2016 …. The Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has informed that the applicants  who have filed their application for re-registration as Non-LPG Ration  Card Holder on or before July 31, 2016 for availing kerosene were sent for verification with the Gas Companies, and it has been found that some of the ration Card Holders have submitted their application to this department for re-registration as Non- LPG in spite of having gas connection in their name/Family members name and the Department has taken a decision to stop the supply of Kerosene Quota to such ration card holders who are having gas connection from the month of October, 2016 onwards.

            In case of any grievance, they may approach the respective Taluka Civil Supplies Office or  the Director of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, 1st Lift, 2nd floor, Junta House, Panaji- Goa.

Panaji: October 26, 2016 …. The Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa in joint collaboration with West Zone Cultural  Centre, Udaipur will be organizing  a five day Children festival i.e “Balotsav” at Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji-Goa from November 4 to 8, 2016 from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. for the local school children in the age group of 10 to 16 years from Tiswadi taluka.

This particular festival is organised during the Diwali vacation for the benefit of the students to learn the Crafts, Theatre, Songs, etc.

         The school children from Panaji could participate in this festival. The students will be trained by the experts coming from Rajasthan and from Goa in the traditional art forms such as Bandhani, Doll Making, Theatre and also National Integration Songs.

         The interested children are requested to register their participation in the office of Art and Culture, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji- Goa on or before November 1, 2016 during office hours i.e from 9.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m

C M DISBURSES ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION OF RS.30.80 CRORES TO 600 BENEFICIARIES OF PERNEM TALUKA

Panaji:-October 25, 2016 … The  Chief Minister shri Laxmikant Parsekar today disbursed compensation of Rs.30.80 to 600 beneficiaries  whose land has been acquired for setting up of Mopa Airport  project.  at a function organized  by the  Directorate of Civil Aviation at Pernem. The compensation is towards additional three time’s compensation given to the beneficiaries.

Secretary for Directorate of Civil Aviation, Smt. Neela Mohanan, Director of Directorate of Civil Aviation Suresh Shanbhogue, Deputy Collector (SDM) Pernem, Shri. Harish Hadkonkar, Shri Upendra  Deshprabhu, Z.P Member, Ramesh Sawal, PMC Chairperson Smt. Smita Kortadkar and the Sarpanchas of various Village Panchayats  like Shri Rupesh Parab, VP Mopa, Shri Vilas Shetye, VP Torsem, Smt. Shaileja Malik, VP Hasapur, Shri Ankush Arondekar,VP Varkhand and Smt. Mohini Naik, VP Kasarvarne were among  those who  were present at the function.

        The Chief Minister speaking on the occasion expressed his happiness over the proposed project of International Green Field Mopa Airport. He aid that the government has succeeded in keeping its promise  of  availing additional compensation to  the persons  whose land have been acquired for Mopa Airport Project.

The Chief Minister also  said that an amount of  Rs 120 crores which is   disbursed earlier  and  additional amount of Rs 30.80 crores  have been  disbursed today. He  expected that the first flight will  fly  from the  Mopa Airport  by  the year 201 9he added.

       Minister for Panchayat  Shri Arlekar in his address  said that  the project will benefit the Pernem people but but also to the  entire Goa state and our country at large The support and the cooperation   extended   by the people of Pernem taluka  by providing, their land will  benefit to our future generation  in the long run he expressed.

GOVERNOR HOLDS MEETING WITH PROGRESSIVE HINDU WOMEN OF GOA

Panaji : October 24, 2016 …..  The Governor Dr. (Smt.) Mridula Sinha, held a meeting with a delegation of 82 Progressive Hindu women of Goa at Raj Bhavan yesterday.

The delegation included RSS Mahila Karyakartas, BLP Mahila Morcha members and various other prominent women from different fields.

The meeting highlighted issues like the Uniform Civil Code and its impact on various matters from women point of view. The Governor was always keen to know more about the Uniform Civil Code practiced in Goa and hence in a span of one month she met women delegations from Christian, Muslim and Hindu communities and wishes to meet Tribal and Sikh women in the near future.

          Various questions were asked like the status of marriage registration among Hindus. It was told that mostly everyone follows the registration rule today irrespective of any religion, mainly to avail the different Government schemes such as Laadli Laxmi. Also a few women mentioned how they being married a different State did not have marriage registration and hence facing problems in many matters. Suggestions like pre marriage counseling were given in order to prevent divorces and other family disputes. And it was requested that Governor help to make it mandatory in every religion through Uniform Civil Code.

          The Governor exchanged her views and experiences from her career with the women. It was also informed that there are many Self Help groups of Hindu women. The Governor was glad to hear that each one present contributed in some way to the Swachh Bharat Mission and how they are actively participating in it through campaigns and group awareness programmes.

ARMY RECRUITMENT RALLY IN GOA FROM NOV.9 TO NOV. 11

October 24, 2016 …. The candidates from the Goa aspiring to join the Indian Army can attend a recruitment rally from November 9 to November 11 at 3 Technical Training Regiment ground at Bambolim under the online registration system of recruitment. The rally will be conducted by Army Recruiting Officer, Kolhapur.

The recruitment will be for all categories, including soldier general duty (GD), Soldier technical, Soldier clerk/store keeper, Soldier technical  Nursing Assistant and Soldier Tradesmen.

 Age criteria for Soldier General is 17 ½  to 21 years as on 01 October 2016 while all other category the age limit is 17 ½  to 22 years as on 01 October 2016.

 The qualification for Soldier general duty is SSLC / Matric with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% in each subject. The qualification for Soldier technical is 10+2/Intermediate Exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject. For the post of Soldier clerk the qualification is 10+2 / Intermediate Exam pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% in each subject. Should have studied and passed English and Maths/Accts Book Keeping in Class X or Class XII with 40% marks in each subject. The qualification for Soldier technical (Nursing Assistant) is 10+2 / Intermediate Exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with Minimum 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% in each subject. In case the candidate has a BSc Degree with (Botany / Zoology / Bio-Science) and English, the stipulation of percentage in Class-XII is waived off. The qualification for Soldier tradesman is10th Simple Pass/ ITI (except Syce, Mess Keeper .

 Candidates should bring their certificates and documents in original and two Xerox copies of all documents duly attested by gazette officer along with Admit card as generated after online registration and application through army website.

 The eligible candidates have been asked to register and apply online atwww.joinindianarmy.nic.in. The registration will be open from September 9 onwards. Candidates who have registered earlier successfully are required to only apply again  with their existing user ID and password.

  The  basic pay for the post is Rs.6460.00, Grade pay Rs. 2000.00. Military  Service pay Rs. 2000.00 and other allowances as applicable.

ENGINEERS’ CONVENTION CONCLUDES

Panaji, October 22, 2016 …. The valedictory function of 32nd Convention of The Institute of Engineers (IEI)-Goa State Center was held on October 22, 2016 at the Goa University Hall, Taleigao Plateau. Minister for Public Works Department Shri Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar was the Chief Guest for the function.

Memorizing his days as a civil contractor, Shri. Dhavalikar stated that  civil engineers should imbibe three important principles in their work. “They must do the right project in a right way, striking a holistic balance between economical and ecological aspects.  They must also work together to find newer opportunities and ensure sustainable energy development in all qualitative works”, he further said.

Shri. Dhavalikar later felicitated Smt. Pramodini Naik for being selected as the best paper presenter on the occasion. He also felicitated various members of IEI for their meritorious performance. Shri. Yogesh Bhobe presented a summary of the two days Convention. The program was compared by Michell D’Mello.
