ALERT NOTICE TO ALL BAKERY OPERATORS

Panaji : December 24,2016 …. Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration informed all the bakery operators, dealing in food articles by way of manufacture and sale of Local Bread (Pao) dealing in food articles without a valid Registration Certificated or License under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and Rules/Regulations, 2011, is in contravention of the provisions of this Act/Regulations and is punishable with imprisonment and fine. Hence, it is requested that without License /Registration Certificate bakery operation should stop forthwith their business activity and obtaining the required License /Registration Certificate to continue business activity.

    All Food Business Operators to display their License /Registration Certificate in a prominent place at the business premises.

    Bakery which are unhygienic condition and without the basic facilities are requested to rectify the defects immediately and comply under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Rules (Licensing and Registration) 2011.

He said, we should also equip our youths with the necessary knowledge and skills so that they can meet the demands of a fast changing world and become lifelong learners. This institution he said is doing exactly that is required to be done.

Guest of honour, Information Officer, Shri John Aguiar exhorted the students to be focussed, Be positive have an aim in life and achieve it. He said it is important to be focussed in life. Circumstances he said should not be allowed to restrict your dreams.  Learning does not end when one leaves school or college.   With the advantage of having your education at this college, coupled with hard work, positive attitude and knowledge, your dreams will take you as far as you can imagine.  Do look for the opportunities that hide behind adversities, as there is always another way of looking at the world, he concluded.

GOA POLICE RAISING DAY WAS CELEBRATED WITH ENTHUSIASM AND ZEAL

December 20, 2016 ….. The Goa Police Raising day was celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal at the Headquarters Police Grounds, at Panaji today.

        Speaking on the occasion the Director General of Police Dr. Muktesh Chander gave   a stern warning to its personnel that it would not shield anyone found culpable of any criminal activities.

        Indicating that police personnel  would not be spared if found indulging in corrupt practices, he said the guilty should be  booked to cleanse the force.

He was speaking at the  Raising day function of Goa Police force at Police Grounds  today.

        On account of various security measures initiated by Goa Police, the State’s law and order situation has improved remarkably Dr. Chander said and hailed the force for its performance doing the BRICS summit and other important events that have happened in the state and added that despite of limited resources, the Goa Police have excelled in their duties.

The Director General of Police  gave away the Best Police Station Award and DGPs insignia to the deserving officers.

While the Best Police Station Award which consists rolling trophy and commendation was bagged by Mapusa police station, the 2nd Best Police Station Award bagged by Panaji Police Station and the third best police station award was bagged by the Mollem Police station.  Police inspector incharges  Shri Tusar Lotlikar, Shri Siddant Shirodkar and Shri Nilesh Daigodkar received the trophies.  The DGPs Police Insignia was presented to Superintendent of Police (Training), Shri  Shri  Rohidas Patre, Police Inspectors Shri Sudesh Narvekar, Shri Dattaguru sawant, Shri Milind Bhuimbur, Shri Prvin Gauns, Shri Ravindra Dessai,  Police Sub-Inspector Shri Elvis Barbosa,  ASI Shri Pratap Parab , Head Constables, Shri Niilkant Prabhu, Shri Ranjitkumar Desai Police Constables Shri Anand Ghatwal and Shri Prakash Gaonkar.

A colourful parade was presented to the DGP byt eh Police personnel headed by Parade Commander Deputy Superintendent fo Police Shri Edwin Colaco assisted by assistant parade commander Police Inspector Prajyot Fadte. The respective platoons were commanded by PSI’s PARESH RAMNATHKAR, Shri Ramchandra Naik, Shri Vijyakant Fadte, Raju Gawas, Miss Veronica Coutinho and Miss Jennifer Fernandes.

The DGP on his arrival was received by SP (HQ) Shri Bosco George and was escorted to martyrs memorial for  placing the wreath at the memorial and thereafter tot he dais to take general salute.

The raising day celebration was attended by the senior Police officers, retired police officers and other ranks of the Goa Police Force

Earlier, the DGP received salutes given by six march past contingents which included Goa  Police and  IRBn.

CHIEF MINISTER SEEKS PEOPLE SUPPORT TO MAKE GOA AS A MODEL STATE

Panaji : December 19, 2016 ….. Stating that Goa has emerged as one of the most developed and fastest growing  state in all developmental spheres in India Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar  has appealed to the people of the state to extend their support and co-operation to the Government to make Goa as a model state in various sectors. Goa, he said has progressed well and ranks first among smaller states in the country in the area of infrastructure and health, but we should not remain complacent over the achievements as renewed and determined efforts are needed to make Goa  as a model state in the world.

Chief Minister was speaking   on the occasion of the 55th Anniversary of the Liberation of Goa at the State level function held at Athletic Stadium, Bambolim  today.

The Chief Minister said during last four and half years his Government has been successful in reaching out to  every section of people in the state with various welfare schemes, which substantially helped the Government in giving relief to the people at micro level in true sense.

The Chief  Minister reviewed the noteworthy  progress made by the state in varied sectors  such as education, agriculture, information technology, infrastructure, industries , transport among other sectors. The efforts of the Government has yielded positive results in taking Goa further on the path of  progress and development and generate employment to large number of educated unemployed youth.

Earlier the Chief Minister unfurled the National Flag and reviewed the parade.

On the occasion the Chief Minister presented Chief Minister`s Police (Gold) Medal for Meritorious service to Dy. Superintendent of Police Shri. Nelson Albuquerque, Police Inspector Shri. Sudesh Naik, Police  Inspector Shri. Shaikh Haydar Ismail Karol, Police sub- inspector Shri. Vinayak Patil, PSI Shri Dattaram Raut, Lady Head Constable Miss Sarita Parsekar and Police Constable Shri. Zubear A.Momin.

Shri. Prasad Purso Velip from welwada Poinguinim was felicitated with Krishi Ratna award for his immense contribution in the field of agriculture. Krishi Vibhushan award was presented to Shri. Vithal Kandeparkar from Usgalimol Quepem, Shri. Laxmikant Dhond  from Velge, Sakhali was awarded with Krishi Bhushan award.

Chief Minister`s Fire Service  Medal for Meritorious services was presented  to Station fire Officer Shri. Herculano Gil Souza, Fire Fighter Shri. Prashant G. Dhargalkar, Diver Operator Shri. Mahadev Pokale. Besides many personalities from various fields were presented awards for their contribution in respective fields. These includes Shri. Jivanand Gaude (Rassaim Loutolim),  Shri.Dhannanjay Shetgaokar (Morjim), Shri. Suresh  Kamat (Kudne Sankhali), Shri. Ladu Shamba Parwar (Vaddem Vasco),  Shri. Awards for being best Disabled employees/ employers/NGOs were presented to Shri. Gaurav Narvekar, Shri. Kush Naik (Best Disabled employee), Shri. Jacinto Pinto (Mapusa), Fr. Mavrick Fernandes (Best Disabled employer), St. Francis Xaviers Training Centre and St. Xavier Academy (Best NGO).

STEPS INITIATED TO EASE UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM:SHRI MAHADEV NAIK

Panaji, December 19, 2016 …. Stating that the Government has initiated steps to ease the growing unemployment problem in the State Minister for Industries. Shri Mahadev Naik today said that 134 projects have been cleared under Investment Promotion Board which will generate as many as 23360 jobs to the educated unemployed youth in the State.

          The Industries Minister was addressing a large number of people including students who were assembled on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day celebrated at historic Kranti Maidan in Ponda today. The Industries Minister alongwith Shri Narendra Savaikar, Member of Parliament, South Goa; Shri Lavoo Mamledar, MLA; Dr. Radhika Nayak, Chairperson, Ponda Municipal Council, Shri Deepak Naik Borkar, Zilla Panchayat Member, Freedom Fighters and other dignitaries placed wreaths at martyrs memorial at Kranti Maidan and paid homage. He also unfurled the national tricolor and inspected the guard of honour presented by Police contingents.

          The Industries Minister said that the Government is endeavoring to set up non polluting industrial units in the State so that the unemployment problem is minimized. In this context, Shri Naik said in order meet the requirement of industries what is needed is quality education and keeping this in view the teaching community should impart quality and result oriented education to the students.

          Informing that the State Government has laid thrust to develop necessary infrastructure be it in the area of construction of bridges, roads and other spheres of development the Industries Minister said the Union Government under Ministry of road, transport and highways has sanctioned Rs.350 crores for the construction of bridges and highways in the State. These funds are being utilized for the construction of third new bridge across Mandovi River and also bridge across Khandepar river.

           In order to save consumption of Power the Government has already distributed LED bulbs to all the households in the State. The process to replace existing streetlight with LED has been commenced on State and national highways he further informed.

          The industries Minister also recalled the immense contribution made by late Shri Chandrakant Kenkre for the cause of Goa’s Liberation. We should remain indebted to the Supreme sacrifices of the freedom fighters and martyrs whose contribution and eternal memories will always be cherished by the people, he added.

          The students drawn from various schools from Ponda taluka presented patriotic songs on the occasion.

          Earlier on his arrival at the venue of the function the Industries Minister was received by Shri Paresh Faldessai, Dy. Collecor & SDO, Ponda and Smt. Sunita Sawant,  Dy. Superintendent of  Police, Ponda.

VARIOUS DEVELOPMENTAL WORKS INITIATED AT NETRAVALI

December 18, 2016 …. The Atal Gram Development Agency Goa approved funds to the tune of Rs. 12.48 lakh for construction of new anganwadi Centre and Rs. 13.30 lakh for Construction of public toilets and shops cum  Godowns in Netravali Village Panchayat.

Shri Subhash Phaldesai, MLA Sanguem  Constituency informed the above after performing Bhumi Pujan at both the sites in Netravali on Saturday. He also informed the gathering that Netravali has several places of Touristic attraction and in order to make the whole area of village panchayat, people friendly, 56 different signages are being erected by the Atal Gram Development Agency-Goa.

Shri  Shashikant  Gaonkar , Sarpanch , Netravali Village Panchayat informed that Netravali village panchayat has been provided witht he funds and on completion of codal formalities/e-tendering the developmental works are  awarded.

Shri Navnath Naik , Adhakshya , Soputh Goa Zilla Panahcyat praised the  Atal Gram Development Agency-Goa. He said this agenceyhas been fully committed and sincerely devoted for work.

Minister for Panchayat, Forest and Environment Shri Rajendra Arlekar, MLA of Sankhali Dr. Pramod Sawant, MLA of Panaji Shri Sidharth Kuncalienkar, MLA of Vasco Shri K.L. Carlos Almeida, Chairperson of Pernem Municipal Council Smt. Smita U. Kudtarkar and Director of Transport Shri Sunil Masurkar will also be present on the occasion.

Election Commission of India reviews Preparedness for Goa Assembly polls

Panaji, December 16, 2016 …. The Election Commission of India comprising Dr Nasim Zaidi, Shri A. K. Joti and Shri Omprakash Rawat who were on a two day official visit to the state of Goa today took a firsthand assessment of the advance planning and preparations made by the state election machinery for the forthcoming Assembly Elections.

During the visit the commission met various political parties to understand the issues and concerns. The Commission noted their suggestions for holding free, fair and peaceful elections in the state. The Commission also reviewed work of DCs, SSPs, and DIGs/IGs and discussed issues with Government level officials including DGP, Home Secretary, and the Chief Secretary and other senior officers of the state. The Commission also discussed strategy with various Enforcement agencies.

 The political parties demanded that entire electoral process must be conducted in a free and fair manner and level playing field be insured. The political parties also demanded the demonstration of new VVPATs to political parties and voters to make them aware about the functioning of the machine.

 Giving this information at a press conference, at Bambolim near Panaji, the chief election commissioner Dr. Nasim Zaidi said, most of the political parties have given their suggestion on scheduling of elections and the commission has taken note of that.

 Deliberating on the summary revision and electoral roll Mr Zaidi said, special summary revision 2017 has been extensively carried out in the state with education of masses and SVEEP activities. He said, 46700 new voters have been added in the state while 15293 applications have been received for deletion of names from the voters list. The Chief Election Commissioner also informed that the date of summary revision has been extended up to 24 Dec 2016. Mr Zaidi said, as of now, total number of voters in the state are 11, 07,431 out of which 812 are service voters. For the first time 40 Vanarmare Tribe people have been registered as voter.

 As far as polling stations are concerned he said, there are a total 1642 polling stations at 1163 polling locations. The commission has also directed to set up all women managed polling stations wherever possible to motivate women participation in the electoral process. The Commission has also decided to use Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) in all 40 Assembly Constituencies.

 The Chief Election Commissioner also informed that SAMADHAN an online grievance registration and redress system shall be put in place to provide a unified and integrated platform for the registration and tracking all kind of complaints. While SUVIDHA another single window system for the political parties and the candidates seeking different permissions during election phase shall be operationalised. Shri A. K. Joti and Shri Omprakash Rawat both election commissioners also attended the press conference.
