ULTRASOUND MACHINES AND CLINICS TO BE MONITORED FOR PC-PNDT: SHRI SWAPNIL NAIK

Panaji: March 31, 2015 …. Additional District Magistrate -I (North Goa) Mr. Swapnil M. Naik who presided over the meeting of Advisory Committee of Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act (PC-PNDT) has reiterated that conceptualising of software installation in every ultrasound machine will obtain record of the entire clinics / Hospitals automatically at the PC-PNDT control room at North Goa Collectorate, Panjim.

 Mr. Swapnil said that the ultrasound machine and other machines of the clinics & Hospitals will be monitored around the clock from the office of the Collectorate, North Goa at PC-PNDT Control room to ensure in tracking the record of ultrasound report carried out on number of female gender at clinic /Hospital. He also said that random checks at the clinics will be carried out physically to track the actual report of the female gender attended by the clinic /Hospital by verification of the backup record.   

 Mr. Naik re-acted to show cause notices issued to some clinic/ Hospital which violated  the terms and condition of the PC-PNDT Act and therefore impressed upon the Committee of the PC-PNDT that machines of such defaulters need to be  confiscate or  sealed.

 Additional Collector I urged the parents to avoid genetic to instill good values in celebration of girl child in each village.

 The meeting also deliberated on the strategy with the health officers to take effective step to curb the wrong use of the clinic/ Hospital and also to take stern action on those not responding to the show cause notices. Health officers were also impressed upon to monitor violations of PC-PNDT Act.

GOVT SUBSIDIZED 17 PADDY HARVESTING COMBINES

Panaji: March 31, 2015 …. The Modalities for harvesting of paddy using paddy combine harvesters during the ensuing Rabi 2015 season have been changed.

 During the last few years, the farmers were given custom service subsidy for hiring paddy harvesting combines @ 50% of hire charges.

 Government has subsidized 17 paddy harvesting combines to the extent of Rs.17.5 lakhs per machine to be operated by Farmers co-operative societies/clubs.  Now that Government of Goa has enough subsidized machines to cater to the needs of Rabi farmers, it has been decided to withdraw the subsidy of custom service to individual farmers.

 The farmers co-operative (service providers) are expected to hire out these subsidized machines to the farmers of Goa at concessional rates.

 The farmers will be free to hire the harvesting machine as per their choice from the service providers of their service areas, so as to encourage healthy competition.  Henceforth the farmers receiving the service of harvesting machine shall pay full hire charges.

Government has also decided to increase the paddy support price from Rs.17 per kg to Rs.19 per kg in lieu of withdrawal of custom services subsidy towards hiring of paddy harvesting combines.

PHOTOGRAPH OF CANDIDATE TO BE ALSO PRINTED ON BALLOT PAPERS

Panaji: March 30, 2015 …. The Election of India Commission has noted that there are many cases where candidates with same or similar names contest from the same constituency.  Although appropriate suffixes are added to the names of candidates in the event of two or more candidates having same name, the Commission considers that additional measures are required for removing confusion in the minds of electors at the time of voting.

 Having considered all aspects of the matter, the Commission in partial modification of its existing directions under Rule 22, 30 and Rule 49 B of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961, has specified that for elections to be held from May 1, 2015 onwards, the postal ballot papers, the ordinary ballot papers and the ballot papers to be displayed on the balloting unit of EVM in addition to the particulars as per the existing directions, also contain the photograph of the candidate. 

The photograph of the candidate should be printed in the panel for the name of the candidate and to appear on the right side of the name in between the name and symbol of the candidate.  The size of the photograph printed on the ballot paper shall be 2 cm. X 2.5 cm. (two cm. in breadth and 2.5 cm. in height).

 The above direction for printing of photograph of candidate on the ballot paper will also apply in relation to elections by Assembly members and elections from Council constituencies.  In respect of the said elections, the directions are in exercise of powers under Rule 30 as made applicable to these elections by Rule 70 of the said Rules.

STATE LEVEL PROGRAMME ON NATIONAL RURAL DRINKING WATER AND SANITATION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Minister for PWD Shri Sudin Dhavlikar will be the Guest of Honour. During the awareness campaign, various Information, Education and Communication activities will be conducted.

The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India has launched National Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Awareness Campaign in the Country.   

GOVERNMENT TO SET UP ELECTRONIC CITY AT TUYEM-CHIEF MINISTER

Panaji: March 29,2015 …  The Chief Minister Shri Laxmikat Parsekar has said that the Government has decided to set up Electronic City at Tuyem Pernem and IT Park at Chimbel Tiswadi and therefore has acquired 6 lakh Sq.mtrs and 2 lakh Sq.mtrs lands  at aforesaid places.

Shri Parsekar was speaking at the laptop distribution function that was held at Harmal today. The function was organized by the Directorate of Education.

Shri Parsekar speaking further said that students about 18000 all over the state will avail this facility for which his Govenment has invested Rs. 36 Crores. It is not mere investment towards the purchase of laptop but it is future investment to bring up our future IITians.  He suggested the students about the proper use of this facility to upgrade and enhance their knowledgeto emerge our future IITians.

 MLA and Chairman of Goa Info-Tech Corporation Ltd. while speaking said the motive behind providing the equipment of laptop for the student to enable  them to compete in the era of information and technology. The laptops which are provided are of good quality superfast display upgraded with latest technology and are downloaded with various applications to cater to their need. . He advised the students not to undermine the very objective of the Government behind Students Cyber Age Scheme and stressed on proper use of laptop to enhance their knowledge and avoid misuse of the same.

Shri Gajanan Bhat Director of Education spoke on the initiative of Government pertaining to various schemes of  the department. He also advised the student to make proper use of the device to enhance their knowledge.

Addressing media persons at the party head office in panjim party spokesperson adv yatish naik said that the budget had not focused any scenario for creating employment in the state and was a directionless exercise made by the bjp led government

Adv naik also stated that the present government budget had also made some of the same promises which were made in the earlier budge of the same government

Doctors of panjim urban health centre conducts medical check-up on one of the woman employee of 108 Ambulance Service Employees who have gone on an indefinite hunger strike

28/03/2015 …. Doctors of the panjim urban health centre on Saturday conducted a medical examination on one of the woman employees of the 108 Ambulance Service Employees who have gone on an indefinite hunger strike from Thursday at the azad maidan in panjim

It may be noted that around six members of the 108 Ambulance Service Employees Union under the banner of bharatiya mazdoor sangh had gone on an indefinite hunger strike at the azad maidan from which three employees were shifted to gmc on Friday after doctors had found the employees bp low due to hunger strike while remaning three were still on hunger strike at azad maidan

Meanwhile tiswaddi mamlatdar madhu narvekar who was also present at the site said that at present there was no need for the hunger strike member to be shifted to the hospital as they were found to be fine from any medical needs …

It may be noted that on Thursday in a murder incident a girl and a boy was found to be shot dead in a hotel in vasco dying side by side in a pool of blood …

Speaking to media reporters calangute mla Michael lobo said that there was a need for the state police officials to find out the source of the gun and from where it was brought in to the state as it was sending a wrong signal as far as the state of goa was concerned and therefore there was a need for police officials to keep a check on trains entering in the state

Commenting over the prostitution racket being busted in north goa Michael said that he was happy to see police officials doing their job well since had had gone on a hunger strike demanding proper law and order in the state and if goans do help police officials in their work then definitely goa would have a clean image in the world

Michael also stated that after he had gone on a hunger strike people had woken from their sleep and have been giving information to the concerned police officials on the illegalities that were going round in the state

EXHIBITION OF “MINI PRINT GOA-2015”

Panaji: March 26, 2015 …. Shri Dayanand Mandrekar Minister for Art & Culture will inaugurate “Mini Print Goa, 2015” an Art Exhibition at 5.30 p.m. organized by the Directorate of Art & Culture on  March 30, 2015 it will be open for public up to April 8, 2015.

 450 works of artist (Print Makers) from all over India shall be displayed in the Art Gallery of Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji for viewing of the general public.

 It is Curated by Shri Rajendra Usapkar, Shri Viraj Naik, Shri Walter D’Souza, Shri Pradeep Naik and Shri Rayn Abreu.

 The Directorate of Art & Culture requested all the Artist, Art lovers to witness the said exhibition.
