GOVERNOR CONVEYS BEST WISHES ON CHILDREN DAY

Panaji, November13, 2015 …. Governor of Goa Dr. Mridula Sinha has conveyed her love affection and best wishes to the children of Goa on the occasion of children day November is the Birth Anniversary of late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, and this day is being celebrated every year as the children’s Day.

The Governor said that it is our moral obligation and duty to encourage the children with a vision of greatness. The future of our country lies on the qualities of our children. We should, therefore, do our best to give our children a higher and better future, protect the unprotected and care the poor and hapless ones. They need to be provided with moral support and facilities for their physical and mental health.

As an Ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, nominated by the Prime Minister the Governor said she would like to emphasize that our children should be given education about the importance of cleanliness. Their habits should be developed for clean life style she added .

 

 

CHIEF MINISTER TO INAUGURATE GOA PAVILION AT NEW DELHI

Panaji, November 13, 2015 …. The much awaited 35th edition of India International Trade Fair, 2015 will commence at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on November 14, 2015.

President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate this Mega International Trade Fair in the presence of Chief Minister of Goa Shri Laxmikant Parseker and Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Chief Minister of Jharkhand who are also expected to grace the occasion.

 Goa State is participating in IITF as a Partner State. The theme for IITF for this year is “Make in India”. Department of Information and Publicity is the Nodal Agency for the participation of Goa State in this annual Mega Trade Fair. Similarly, other State Government Departments and Corporations such as Department of Industries, Trade and Commerce, Department of Tourism, GTDC, GIDC, Goa Handicraft Corporation are participating in the Fair. InfoTech Corporation of Goa is also participating in this Trade Fair for the first time.

          The Goa Pavilion will be set up on a area of 250 sq. mtrs in Hall no 1  (front) at Pragati Maidan, the venue of the Trade Fair. The work as regard to conceptualization, designing, erection and  management of Goa Pavilion during the 14 days event has been entrusted to M/s. Vinsan Graphics a reputed agency from Vasco.

          Considering the “Make in India” concept thrust will be laid to promote Goa as investor friendly delight, international tourist locale, boost industrial growth and development. Efforts will also be made to   highlight the initiatives, achievements and welfare measures of the Goa Government by printing of brochures and distribute the same the visitors including foreign nationals visiting Goa Pavilion.  Stress will also be laid for promoting investment manufacturing sector in IT, Pharma Sector among other allied activities related to Trade and Industry.

          It may be noted that in the year 2013 Goa bagged the display in excellence award at IITF among the smaller states in the country.

Apart from  conducting  day today activates in the Goa Pavilion the highlight will be the Cultural performances  by the folk artists from Goa who will enthrall  the visitors of Goa Pavilion with their artistic  talent.

          Chief Minister of Goa Shri Laxmikant Parseker will inaugurate the Goa Pavilion at New Delhi on November 14, 2015 at 3:30 p,m.  Minister for Industries Shri Mahadev Naik and other dignitaries will grace the occasion.  

EDC Ltd holds VKRY camp at Sanguem

13/11/2015 …. Edc Ltd conducted a   Self Employment Camp  for Sangeum Taluka was recently held at the Shrison Plaza Hall, Sanguem,

This was the second camp organized by EDC Ltd to propogate its most successful Dr Verghese Kurien  Rojgar Yojana Scheme. (VKRY) The programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA  Shri Subash Phaldessai . Various other dignitaries like President of Sanguem Municipal council, Zilla Parishad members, sarpanchas and panchas of Sanguem taluka were present .

Shri Arvind Ghatkar  Managing Dirctor of EDC  welcomed the gathering  . Shri Subhash Phaldessai in his address encouraged the youth to avail the various schemes  available, to set up their own entrepreneurial activities and stand on their own feet

He praised EDC for organizing such Taluka level self awareness camps  for the youth and this would go a long way in reducing unemployment, Besides EDC and Fr Agnel Ashram,  other government  Departments like Directorate of Industries Trade and Commerce(DITC), Goa Handicrafts (GHRSSIDC), Department of Animal Husbandry,  and  Khadi  Village and Industries Board (KVIB) also set up their stalls and displayed the various schemes operated by them .  The function was well attended.

TRADERS HOLD DIWALI POOJA AT VIRTUAL STORES ALSO THIS DIWALI

panjim, nov-2015 … The traders in the Country celebrated Diwali festival this year with a new energy by embracing technology in their Diwali Puja. For​ ​ first time in the Country beside holding Traditional Diwali Puja at physical stores, the traders ​in different states​ also performed Diwali Puja at their virtual stores at different e commerce portals.
Diwali Puja, considered to be most auspicious for the traders are particularly performed at business places and since virtual stores at e commerce portals are also our business place, therefore, we performed Diwali Puja at virtual stores also along with conducting pooja at our physical stores-said Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) which has mooted this unique initiative.
At CAIT headquarters at New Delhi, vedic scholars amid chanting of Mantras performed Diwali Pooja by switching on e commerce portal e-lala and worshiping God Shri Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi placed at the portal. Traders applied Tilak to deities and offer floral garlands. In place of Account Books, the Computers and other means of business communications including Laptop, Mobile, Telephone, Whatsap on Cellphone were also worshiped.
 CAIT National President Mr. B.C.Bhartia said that Diwali Puja at virtual stores of e commerce portals has given a message that traders are not legging behind in embracing the technology and e commerce is an emerging and promising market and beside their brick & mortar shops, the traders should utilize e commerce as an additional tool of growth in their business.
The CAIT is all set to launch its e commerce portal e-Lala on forthcoming 23rd November at New Delhi. Global major in card payment technology MasterCard and lead bank HDFC Bank are supporting e-Lala​.​

 

LOKOTSAV-2016 FOLK FESTIVAL IN JANUARY

Panaji, November12, 2015 ….  The Department of Art and Culture will be organizing 17th National level Arts and Crafts fair ‘ Lokotsav ’ (Folk Festival) in joint collaboration with West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur and in association with Kala Academy, and Sports Authority of Goa in the month of January, at Darya Sangam, Kala Academy, Panaji.

          This folk festival will be held between January 8, to January 17, 2016 for ten days. It is being organized to provide a platform to the traditional craft persons and folk artists from different parts of the country and from the state of Goa to display and sale their arts and crafts. This festival is being organized every year towards promotion and preservation of handicraft items, craft persons and performing artists.

          About 600 craft persons from different parts of the country as well as from Goa participate in this festival to exhibit their art and craft during the festival period. The stalls are provided to the Goans craft persons registered under the Goa Handicrafts Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation, Rural Development Agency, etc. The stalls will be allotted to the craft persons on sharing basis. The stall registration charges (non refundable) will be Rs. 300/- per stall. The stalls serving food items (except packed dry food items) shall be charged garbage charges of Rs. 400/- per day for Goan food stalls (total for ten days Rs. 4,000/-) shall be collected at the time of allotment of the stalls. For the food stalls from out of state will be charged @ Rs. 800/- per day as cleaning charges and (total for ten days Rs. 8,000/-) shall be collected at the time of allotment of the stalls.

          The Goan craftpersons are requested to collect the application forms from the office of the Directorate of Art and Culture, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto Panaji during office working hours from November 16, 2015 and submit the duly filled forms with details and enclosures on or before , November 27, 2015 to the office

WRITTEN TEST FOR LDC ON NOV. 15

 Panaji, November 11, 2015 … Written test for the post of LDC for recruitment in Department of Cooperation Office of the Registrar of Coop. Societies is scheduled on November 15, 2015 at Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi, Ponda. The call letters have been already been dispatched to the qualified candidates.

The timing for the interview will be 10.30 am to 11.30 am to seat No. 0001 to 1000 and 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm for bearing seat nos. 1001 to 1933.

IMPLEMENTATION OF DAS IN PROGRESS

Panaji, November 10, 2015 …. The implementation of Digital Addressable  Cable TV Systems (DAS) is in progress in the Country in a phased manner in 4 phases. In Phase-III, the sunset dates for analog TV transmission in urban areas is 31st  December, 2015.  For implementation of DAS, the Authority has notified a comprehensive  regulatory framework encompassing  interconnection, Quality of service, consumer complaint redressal regulation and traffic orders.

            The MSOs, who have been granted registration for providing cable TV  services through DAS, are required to enter into interconnection agreements with pay TV broadcasters for re-transmission of pay TV channels  to the subscribers. The Regulatory framework for DAS provides that every broadcaster shall provide the signals of TV channels to a Multi System Operator (MSO), in accordance with its reference interconnect offer or as may be mutually agreed, within 60 days from the date of receipt of the request and in case the request for providing signals of TV Channels is not agreed to, the reasons for such refusal to provide signals shall be conveyed to the person making a request within 60 days from the date of request.

            As the cutoff date for Phase-III areas is fast approaching, the registered MSOs are advised to make a written request to the broadcasters of pay channels for provisioning of the signals of TV channels as per their business requirement, so that they get signals of pay TV channels well before  the cut off date.

CM LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGE AT PARSEM

Latest ::: Panaji:Nov,2015  …. The Chief Minister, Shri Laxmikant Parsekar laid the foundation stone for the proposed work of “improvement sluice gate (manas) and construction of bridge over the Manas at Khajan Gundu in Village Panchayat Parse in Pernem taluka recently.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs.4.91 crores. At present the bandh and sluice gate are not in good condition and allows the entry of saline water in to the field thereby affecting the agriculture and fishing activities.

        Taking in consideration the above condition the Government through Water Resource Department taken up the work of development of the sluice gate in a comprehensive way for promoting agriculture, fishing activities, local employment by the way of tourism development and to provide an alternate access from Vaidongar to Parse main road.

      Shri Parsekar speaking on the occasion said that the Government is promoting agricultural activities in the state and endeavors to support the farmers to undertake farming on large scale which is indication that Government cannot ignore the interest of the farmers. He said that the Government learnt about the condition of bandhs and how it affects the paddy fields thereby causing loss to farmers.

        Shri Parsekar further speaking also said that the proposed project has a provision to develop the area in a manner to provide walking track, a picnic spot, sitting area with benches for tourists, locals, and nature lovers, a small garden along the bundh  for  illumination of the area thereby making it a tourist spot. Although the Government is committed to make development which cannot be achieved without the cooperation of the people he added.

          Minister for Water Resources Shri Dayanand Mandrekar while speaking at the function called for the need to protect the interest of farmers. The construction of bundhs is of urgent. Being not in condition  it allows entry of saline water thereby affecting the paddy fields therefore he suggested to undertake construction of  these bundhs on priority he opined.

          There after the Chief Minister Shri Parsekar in the presence of Smt. Vaioshali Shirodkar Sarpanch VP Mandrem commenced the work of construction of  Sulabh Shouchayalay Complex will be taken up at an estimated  near Bhagawati Mandir at Deulwada Mandrem. The four seater toilet complex has a cost of Rs.13.35lakhs.The work of the project will be executed through Sulabh International. Shri Sushil Kumar Chairman of Sulabh Shouchalay, Smt. Shrimati Manjrekar ZP Member, Shri V.M.Chawan EE PWD, Shri R.LAshtekar JE PWD and others were present on theoccasion.

SOLAR COOKER STOCKS ARRIVES AT GEDA IN GOA

NOTICE TO PUBLIC BY GOA STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Panaji, November 9, 2015 … Efforts for elimination of Malaria and Falaria and containment of Dengue and Chikungunya, screening of workers/Labourers at various establishments along with spraying of potential mosquito breeding sites is carried out by Directorate of Health Services.

      As per public Health Act, it is mandatory that all migrant labours/workers employed at any establishments are screened for Malaria and issued a valid Health Card, which has to be renewed every 3 months. During their site inspection on various occasions it is observed that migrant labourers /workers refuse or are missed for screening of Malaria.

      All owners/master of the barges, shipyards/drydocks, passenger launches, ferry boats, tindels of fishing trawlers and operators of the mechanized and non mechanized craft including the tourist boats etc plying in the Inland Waters of Goa are advised to ensure that all labourers/employees under them are screened for malaria and carry the valid health cards before they are engaged for work. These services are available at all Community/ Primary/Urban Health centre of the Directorate of health services.
