CO-OPERATION OF LOCAL BODIES IS MUST FOR DEVELOPMENT-WRD MINISTER

Panaji: November 17,2015 … Minister for Water Resources Shri Dayanand Mandrekar in the distinguished
presence of MLA and Chairman of Goa Horticultural Corporation Ltd. Shri  Kiran Kandolkar laid the foundation stone for the work improvement to  existing Waterfall and Disilting of waterway at Thorli Chandai in Village
Panchayat Pirna Bardez today.The WRD has taken up this project with an  intention to protect natural water body and also aims to develop the same as tourist spot.

Shri Mandrekar speaking on the occasion said that in order to take up any developmental work requires cooperation of local bodies like communidade, council of members of Village Panchayat and above all the cooperation of local people is also equally needed. The people have to participate in the process of development and have to be after their representatives to get developmental works done in their respective areas..

Shri Mandrekar speaking further informed that the various developmental  works amounting to Rs. 5 crores are underway in Thivim Constituency. The Government he said through the Department of WRD will also plans to take up more developmental work amounting to Rs.15 in near future. He complemented Shri Kiran Kandolkar for his endeavor for the development of Thivim  Constituency.

MLA and Chairman of Goa State Horticultural Corporation Shri Kandolkar while speaking at the function said that the Government has undertaken various developmental work, like widening of roads, development of ground,
construction of building for Panchayat apart from the illumination and beautification of Hanuman Mandir at Chandai and Shantadurga temple. He also informed that the efforts for 20 bedded hospital in Thivin is also in
progress.

Shri Ravalu Shetye JE WRD gave overview of the proposed workShri Arjun Kavathankar Sapanch V.P Revoda, Shri Govind Kubal ZP Member also spoke on the occasion. Shri Gopal Naik Sarpanch welcomed the guests. While Smt. Diksha Kandolkar ZP Member Sirsaim proposed the vote of thanks.

CRIB COMPETITION DURING CHRISTMAS

Panaji, November 17, 2015 …. Directorate of Art and Culture is organizing a State level Crib  competition from December 26 to 30, 2015 in Goa.

The Crib competition will be organized in two categories  Institutions/Group (Cribs made by institutions, clubs, and parishes or by a group of people.) and Individuals/Household (Cribs made at a house or beside
the house by an individual or within a family.)

The winners of the competition will be awarded cash prizes along  with the certificate. The prizes for Institution/Group Category are as  follws: 1st Prize â Rs. 15,000/-, 2nd Prize â Rs. 10,000/-, 3rd Prize â Rs.
7,000/- and Five consolation Prizes of Rs. 5000/- each. For  Individuals/Household Category, the prizes are as follows: 1st Prize â Rs. 10,000/- , 2nd Prize â Rs. 7,000/-, 3rd Prize â Rs, 5,000/- and Five  Consolation Prizes of Rs. 3000/- each.

The individuals/associations who are interested in participating in  this Crib Competition may collect the application form the office of the  Directorate of Art and Culture, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji, Ravindra  Bhavan-Margao, Fatorda, Ravindra Bhavan-Curchorem, Curchorem and submit the  duly filled forms on or before December 16, 2015 at the above mentioned  offices during working hours.

STATE AWARDS FOR THE PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Panaji, November16, 2015 … Applications are invited from Employers/NGO’s /Persons with Disabilities for the Best Employer, Best NGO, Best Block Development Office, Best Employee with Disabilities (Three) state Awards.

One award in each of the category of Disabilities such as Visual Disabled, Speech and Hearing Impaired, Physically Disabled will be given for the Best employee with Disabilities. Each Awards Consists of Cash Amount of Rs. 25,000/- and a Certificate.

Prescribed Application forms are available at the Counter of Directorate of Social Welfare, free of Cost. Application in prescribed format dully filled in all respect and accompanied with Xerox copies of the documents attested by Gazetted Officer should reach Directorate of Social Welfare on or before November 23, 2013. MEDIA PLAYS A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN SOCIO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT – CM

panaji: November 16, 2015 … The Chief Minister, Shri Laxmikant Parsekar has said that media being the fourth pillar of the democracy has a significant role to play on behalf of the society. As like the elected representatives of the society, media too represent the society.

Shri Parsekar was speaking as Chief Guest at the celebration of National Press Day held at Miramar recently being organized by the Department of Information and Publicity in collaboration with Goa Editors Guild, Goa Union of Journalists Association, Photo Journalists Association Goa, Electronic Media Journalists Association, Sports Journalists Association of Goa and South Goa Journalists Association.  Adv. Cleofato Almeida Coutinho was the keynote speaker on the occasion.

Shri Parsekar speaking further said that there is no question of denying the fact of the constructive and significant role played by the media in socio-economic development of the State. It is the media that aims for the existence of social ethical values in the society and pointed that those who are in this field have to adhere to the values of ethics, character, and clean image thereby maintaining the credibility of journalism.  The Government and media can work together in the greater interest of the society, he added.

 Adv. Cleofato Almeida Coutinho, in his keynote address exhorted that there is a drastic change in media and intelligentsia right from 1972 till today in regards of its role and vitality but it has also a positive side and therefore the role of media cannot be ignored. He said there are certain restrictions on media but can be instrumental in establishing idealism in the society he added.

 The Chief Minister also handed over Laptops to 22 working journalists under the Goa Scheme for Purchase of Computer/Laptop/Camera to Journlaists.

 Senior Journalists such as Shri Prasanna Shirodkar, Chief Sub-Editor, Gomantak Times; Shri Sandesh PrabhuDesai, Editor, Goanews.com; Shri Prakash Kamat, Spl. Correspondent, The Hindu and Shri Sanjiv Verenkar, Chief Reporter of Daily Navaprabha, were felicitated at the hands of Chief Minister Shri Parsekar for their lifelong services and contribution in the field of journalism.

 The Chief Minister Shri Parsekar also handed over prizes to the winners of all Goa Photo Contest organized by this Department and the theme of the contest was  Exploring the unknown locations. The winners of the contest were Shri Nirmal Kulkarni, Shri Madhav A. Swar, Shri Rajtilak Naik  who bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively. While Shri Ajay Patil, Shri Upendra Naik, Shri Chandan Gaonkar, Shri Vaibhav Bhagat, Shri Harshad Swar won the consolation prizes. Where as in the second category the theme of the contest was Goa marching towards Advanced state.The winners of this category are Shri Rajtilak Naik,Shri Nirmal Kulkarni,Shri Amey Simepurushkar won first second and third prizes respectively. Whereas the consolation prize winners were.  Shri Dattaprasad Naik, ShriUpendra Naik,Pawankumar Mahindrakar, Shri Saneh Surya Phadte and Shri Sagun Gawade.

panaji… nov 15, 2015 …. Members of the pilerne citizens forum has once again demanded a CBI inquiry into the death of Fr Bismark Dias stating that the state police had created a number of lapses while doing a proper investigation in to the death case.

Addressing media persons in panjim president of pilerne citizens forum prakash bandodkar said that they had made a representation to the prime minister of india, along with central home minister, chief minister of goa and to the chief secretary of goa asking for a cbi inquiry in to the mysterious death of late fr bismark dias

mr bandodkar also said that it was difficult to understand as why the state government had a problem to hand over the case to cbi if they were not afraid of the case

Addressing media persons in panjim fr domnic silveira said that there seems to be some type pf pressure being put on to the investigation officers due to which the process has been very slow

Fr silveira said that one of the local fisherman had informed him that the body was in the middle of the river which had created doubts about some suspicious over the death of fr bismark

Fr silveira also stated that fr bismark was a person who had fought with life but would never give up his life

Speaking to media reporters st andre mla Vishnu surya wagh said that the state government should have been very clear in asking for the type of special status for the state of goa which was in specially for protecting the land resources of the state

Mr wagh said that if he was in the government he would have impressed upon the central government as for what reasons goa was asking for special status

Meanwhile vice president of the state bjp party dr Wilfred mesquita said that his bjp led government in the state BJP had not given up on Special Status to goa but wanted the State to enact its own legislation for protection of limited land resource.

 

PHASE III OF CABLE TV DIGITIZATION IN GOA

Panaji, November15, 2015 …. Cable television network in the country is regulated as per the Cable Television Networks (Regulation ) Act 1995 and the Rules framed there under.

As per Section 4A of this Act, Central Government has notified phased implementation of digital addressable system in the country by the cable operators. Phases I and II of cable digitization have been completed. Phase III of digitization which will cover all the remaining urban areas in the country is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2015. Rural areas would be covered in Phase IV which is to be completed by December 31, 2016.

To receive cable TV services in urban areas after December 31, 2015 it is essential that Multi System operators and cable operators carry only digital encrypted signals and every cable subscriber has a set top box.

Public must be aware that they require a set top box before the cutoff date. In this connection kind attention is drawn to the provision under Rule 12 of the Cable Television Networks Rules 1994 which states that, “ Every Broadcaster, Multi-System Operator and cable operator shall create public awareness among, and provide information to , the subscribers in the notified areas from a period at least thirty days prior to the date such areas are notified, either through advertisements in the print and electronic media or through such other means including leaflets, printing on the reverse of the receipts, personal visits, group meeting with subscribers or consumer groups, cable service and website, containing salient features of the Digital Addressable Cable System.”

Since the cutoff date of December 31, 2015 for phase III of digitization of cable TV network in urban areas is very near, it is presumed that broadcaster, MSOs and LCOs have already initiated public awareness campaign.

 Under the Publicity Activities of the Department of Cooperation are opening balance in Tanks and Pouches: 62,500.00, collection of local milk (Lts) : 90,7065.00, collection of milk form outside State (Lts) : 4,72,195.00, sale of milk (Lts): 13,26,519.00, milk utilized for Manufacturing of products : 40,000.00, closing balance of milk in the tank (Lts) : 61,500.00, handling shortages of milk if any (1Lts): 13,741.00 and Amount of milk sale (Rs.) : 49,51,6301.00 .

STATE YOUTH FESTIVAL 2015

Panaji, November15, 2015 …. The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Campal, Panaji will be organizing the XIV prestigious State Level Youth Festival 2015 to select the talented youth scheduled to participate in the National Youth Festival 2016. For which last date for submission of entry forms is extended to November 23, 2015. The Participants/ Institutions/Groups are requested to submit their entries to the Taluka Asstt. Physical. Education Officer, (APEO) at the Sports Complex situated in each Taluka on or before November 23, 2015.

The North District Youth Festival is scheduled at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali on November 28 and 29, 2015 and South District Youth Festival is scheduled at DSYA Open Ground, Canacona on December 4 and 5, 2015 and the XIV State Youth Festival 2015 will be organized at Ravindra Bhavan Fatorda, Margao on December 15 and 16, 2015.
