ASSISTANCE TO INDUSTRIAL WORKERS

Panaji: July 17, 2016 …. Goa Labour Welfare Board is extending the benefits of the schemes to the Industrial Workers in Goa. Accordingly the Board proposes to continue to extend similar Assistance/Benefits to the eligible Industrial Workers in the state.

The workers who have put in more than 6 months continuous service and whose pay does not exceed Rs.20, 000/- per month, will be eligible.

 Those Industrial Workers, employees who are desirous of availing the benefits of the scheme may apply through their employers to the office of the Secretary, Goa Labour Welfare Board, Shrama Shakti Bhavan, 4th floor, Patto Plaza, Panaji – Goa.

MAKE GOOD USE OF LED BULBS: CM

Panaji : July 16, 2016 …. The Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant asserted that the power is an important source required for the domestic as well industrial use and insisted people make use of LED bulbs in their houses. The Government strives to make the State energy sufficient, he added.

 Shri Parsekar was speaking as Chief Guest at LED bulb distribution function organized by the Power Department in Adarsh Society Hall at Balli, Quepem yesterday.

 Shri Parsekar further speaking said that the use of LED bulb will certainly help reduce power consumption and in turn energy bill apart from arresting environment problem. The power saved out of the use of this latest technology could be diverted towards industry to make this sector energy sufficient, he remarked.

 The Government, Shri Parsekar said is concerned about the health and living standard of the people.  This Government has worked out Social Welfare Schemes be for age old people, traditional business makers, for women, girl child, motorcycle pilots, Rickshaw drivers etc. covering almost every sections of the society. The recent Deendaya Swasthya Schemes launched recently is aimed to provide better medical services to the needy and common person in the state, he pointed.

MLA and Chairman of GSHRDC Shri Rajan Naik while speaking enlisted various schemes of the Government and appealed to the people to avail the benefits. He also urged people to use LED bulbs and support the Government in its move to save energy.

 Ex- Minister Shri Prakash Velip in his address also spoke about various Social Welfare Schemes of the Government which he said are implemented in their interest. Goa State, he said, is the only state to make schemes like DSS, Graha Aadhar, Laadli Laxmi and Artisans under Social Welfare Schemes and distribution of LED bulbs with free of cost.

 Shri Santosh Lolyekar, Executive Engineer, Division XVI, Margao explained the features of LED bulbs and its benefits of power savings.

GOVERNMENT TO MAKE STATE POWER SUFFICIENT:  CM

Panaji: July 15, 2016 … The Chief Minister, Shri Laxmikant Parsekar has said that Government intends to make the State power sufficient to cater to the need of industrial units. The Government has already approved the proposals for 98 new industry units and the energy saved out of the use of LED bulbs could be used for the said purpose, he said.

  Shri Parsekar was speaking as the Chief Guest at the LED Bulb distribution function under Jyotirmay Goa Scheme organized at Neura Tiswadi, yesterday.

 Shri Parsekar further said that Goa has to rely on neighbouring states for its power requirements as it does not produce energy and therefore urged the people to save power. The technology used in LED bulb reduces the consumption of energy. The use of LED bulb will curtail the bill by half of the amount of their usual bills, he added.

 Enlisting various welfare schemes implemented by the Government for the welfare of the common man in the state, he advised the people to use LED bulbs and save power.

MLA, Shri Vishnu Surya Wagh; Sarpanch Village Panchayat Neura, Shri Vinod Kamat; Sarpanch Village Panchayat, Azzossim Mandur, Smt. Asha Madkaikar; Dy. Sarpanch, Shri Premnath, Ward Member Francisco Po, and staff of Electricity Department were among those present for the function.

 Earlier, Shri Parsekar also distributed LED bulbs at Khandepar in Ponda Taluka and Porvorim in Bardez Taluka.

GOVERNOR NOMINATES 38 STUDENTS AS HER BRAND AMBASSADORS

Panaji: July 14, 2016 …. The Governor of Goa Dr. (Smt.) Mridula Sinha has nominated 38 students from four schools as her brand ambassadors at a function held at Raj Bhavan yesterday.

The Governor presented badges with photographs and names and gave the students guidance as to how to monitor and ensure cleanliness among the students, in the school and surroundings. The Governor also interacted with the students in a loving and informal way which gave much enthusiasm and encouragement to them and they assured to work for the cause of cleanliness.

During the interaction the Governor inquired about the work they are already doing for the cause of cleanliness and told them what they should do in future as her ambassadors. She told them a couple of interesting but valuable oriented stories which they keenly listened, and felt happy and proud of being with the head of the State.

The students were administered Swacch Bharat Abhiyan pledge written by the Governor.  At the end of the event, a group of chlidren sang a song on cleanliness, which, to the pleasant surprise to the Governor, was written by herself.

To create better awareness and understanding among the students and to encourage them to contribute to the cause of cleanliness, the Governor who is the Prime Minister’s nominee for this national mission has nominated the 38 students.

NOTICE  TO BOAT OWNERS

Panaji, July 14, 2016 … The most of the boats are left uncovered at Dona Paula Jetty, Hawai Beach  and Aivao, thereby collecting rain water in these boats during monsoon, which  cause nuisance and leading to  potential source of mosquito breeding and public nuisance and impending source  of health hazards.

            All owners/masters of the  barges, shipyards/drydooks, passenger launches, ferry boats, tindels  of  fishing  trawlers of  the mechanized and non  mechanized crafts including  tourists boats plying in the inland waters are  directed  to ensure that all the boats are properly  covered and there will be no stagnation of water in the boats.

FOCUS MORE ON RURAL AREAS: DY. CM TELLS DEPARTMENT OF POST

Panaji: July 13, 2016 …. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Francis D ‘Souza has underscored the need to lay more thrust on rural areas by Postal Department for extending their network of services. He said due to corporate sector in urban areas the Postal Department has to face stiff competition as such it will be appropriate to focus on the rural areas by the postal department to yield desired results, he added.

 Deputy Chief Minster was speaking at a Goa Postal Division Felicitation Function organized by Department of Post, India at Patto, Panaji today. Shri Surendra Furtado, Mayor, City Corporation Panaji was present on the occasion.

 Speaking further Dy. Chief Minister said postal services is a part of society and to have 95% of local staff in Goa is a great achievement of Post Department. He appreciated the work of Post Offices in Goa and said they should work like private sector or corporate sector to deliver better services to the customers.

 Surendra Furtado, Mayor, City Corporation Panaji also spoke on the occasion. Outstanding contribution made by staff in various section for the year 2015-16 were felicitated at the hands of Chief Guest by offering them a memento and a certificate.

 Earlier ShriVinod Kumar Verma, Post Master General, Goa Region welcomed the guests.

CM DISTRIBUTES LED BULBS AT BICHOLIM, HONDA AND PALE

Panaji: July 12, 2016 …. Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar has said that the Government has proposed to enhance monthly remuneration from Rs. 1200 to Rs. 1500 to the beneficiaries under Mahila Griha Adhar Scheme. Shri Parsekar further said his government has formulated welfare scheme to benefit common man in the state. 

 Bicholim Municipal Council Chairperson Shri Rajaram Gaonkar, former Bicholim MLA Shri Rajesh Patnekar, Councilors, Former Chairperson, Smt. Karuna Govekar, Smt. Shilpa Naik, Shri Riaz Beig, Shri Vallabh Salkar and Asstt. Engineer Shri Gawas were present on the occasion.

 Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating Jyotirmay LED bulbs scheme at Bicholim Municipal Council hall on Sunday. He appealed to the people to take maximum benefit of the scheme to help the government in achieving the target.

 Speaking further Chief Minister said the usage of LED bulbs in the State will help to save about 75% power which could be supplied to industrial estates and other establishments which need more power.

Chief Minister further added that the government within a month’s time will also begin the work of replacing and fitting the streetlights with LED fixtures. While power consumption will be reduced, the streetlights will be brighter,” he added.

Earlier Shri Rajaram Gaonkar welcomed the guest.

 

Chief Minister in the presence of Leader of Opposition Shri Pratapsing Rane later distributed LED filaments to the consumers at a function held at Honda, Sattari. Honda Sarpanch Smt. Urmila Mainkar, Ex Sarpanch, Shri Deepaji Rane and Shri Vishwajeet K. Rane graced the occasion.

 

LED bulbs distribution function was also held at Pale in Bicholim taluka in the presence of the MLA and Chairman, GSIDC Shri Pramod Sawant and other dignitaries.

SHRI DHAVLIKAR FELICITATES SENIOR BADMINTON VETERANS

Panaji, July 11, 2016….. Minister for PWD Shri Ramkrishna Alias Sudhin Dhavlikar was the chief guest at the All Goa Major Ranking Badminton Tournament organized by the Ponda Shuttlers at Indoor Stadium, Ponda recently  which felicitated  Goa’s 24 Senior Badminton Veterans who have contributed more than 25 years in the field of Badminton.

      MLA Shri Digambar Kamat, Shri Lavoo Mamledar, MLA Ponda were the guest of honour.

      Speaking on the occasion Shri Dhavilikar congratulated the Organisers winners and the runners-up for putting up a fine game.

      Shri Digambar Kamat, Shri Lavo Mamledar and Shri Richard D’Souza, President GBA also spoke on the occasion.

      Shri Dhavlikar,  Shri Kamat and Shri Mamledar gave away the mementos of Goodwill Masters Award 2016 to the 24 Veterans Badminton Players namely : Digambar Kamat, ex- President  GBA, Narahar Thakur Secretary GBA ex-President Richard Vaz, Tukaram Kalangutkar, Custodio S. RESULT OF 104th ALL INDIA TRADE TEST OF APPRENTICES

Panaji : July 10, 2016 … The Result of 104th All India Trade Test of Apprentices held in the month of April, 2016 at Mapusa Government Industrial Training Institute, Mapusa Centre have been declared by the Board of Examination under the Craftsmen Training Scheme. The Result Sheet will be available at Mapusa Government ITI, Mapusa.

 All the ex-failed and regular apprentices who wish to appear for the ensuing 105th All India Trade Test of Apprentice likely to be held in October, 2016 should approach to the Asst. Apprentice Advisor Section, Office of the State Directorate of Craftsmen Training Panaji to fill in their forms in all respects. The last date to receive such application to the Apprentice Section is August 31, 2016. No Application shall be entertained, whatsoever after due date.

 The candidates who wish to appear for the 105th All India Trade Test of Apprentices as Private Candidate should submit duly filled up forms in the prescribed format to Asst. Apprentice Advisor Section, Office of the State Directorate of Craftsmen Training, Panaji on or before August 31, 2016.

 Those who wish to apply for re-valuation of their marks should submit their application to the Apprentice Section, Office  of the State Director of Craftsmen Training, Panaji on or before July 20, 2016 positively. Applications received after due date will not be entertained.

GEC COULD TAKE UP DEFENCE ORIENTED EDUCATION-DEFENCE MINISTER

Panaji: July 9, 2016 … The Union Minister of Defence Shri Manohar Parrikar has said that the Goa Engineering College coul   venture with the Ministry of Defence to take up  various  Defence oriented courses so as to grow vast. The GEC he said is marching ahead with successful existence of fifty years with a very good reputation which   is very satisfying.   

Shri Parrikar was speaking as Chief Guest at the function of Golden Jubilee celebration of Goa Engineering College   held at Goa Kala Academy Campal today. He released publication brought out by GEC entitled “ A Legacy of 50 Years.” And thereafter  declared the beginning of Golden Jubilee year.

 Shri Parrikar further speaking said that Defence is very vast subject   and GEC can make inroads by having positive collaboration. The various expertise which is requires in this sector could be tapped by  GEC can contribute a lot and further asserted that  GEC can become pioneering College in the country.

 The PWD Minister Shri  Ramkrishna Dhavalikar, who was the guest of honour  while addressing  the function said that,  the GEC doubt is speedily progressing and already has expanded in terms of various faculties of education, adequate infrastructure, well equipped with facilities and therefore has earned recognition of being  one of the premiere college in the country. He advised to invite various scholars, experts to avail their knowledge, expertise to further enrich the quality of education and excellence.    

 Adv. Narendra  Sawaikar, MP North Goa while speaking on the occasion said that Goa is emerging as an  education hub in which the contribution of  Goa Engineering college is significant. The standard and quality of education is remarkable which take the College to the pinnacles of glory and to be a premier College  in the Country. The GEC reached a mile stone of half a century   carving the future of thousands of students in  the course of the time he said is  an  commendable achievement..
