CM INAUGURATES UPGRADED RETAIL OUTLET OF HORTICULTURAL CORPORATION AT ALTINHO

Panaji :- 6 Oct. 2016 ….Chief Minister of Goa Shri. Laxmikant Parsekar recently inaugurated the upgraded outlet of Goa State Horticulture Corporation limited in presence of Shri. Siddharth Kunkoliekar MLA, Shri. Kiran Kandolkar,  MLA and Chairman  of Goa State Corporation Limited , Shri. Mahesh Naik, Vice Chairperson, Shri. Lorry Barreto, Managing Director of Agriculture Department Shri. Ulhas Pai Kakode, Director of Agriculture. Corporator of City Corporation Panaji (CCP) Shri. Pundalik Raut Dessai, Shri. Minin D’Cruz, Shri. Shantaram Naik, Shri. Diksha Mayekar, Shri. Pranay Mayekar and others.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Laxmikant Parsekar said that the Goa State Horticulture Corporation Limited had gone one step ahead by opening this retail outlet which is like a modern super market providing vegetable and fruits at subsidized rates. He further said that the local vegetables which are grown in the state and which are in high demand will be available for sale at the outlet. Shri Parsekar said outlets like this will also be opened in other parts of Goa, too.

The up gradation of this outlet has been done at a cost of Rs. 25, 00,000 lakhs. The outlet is a modern super market with a larger variety of horticultural products and also a variety of general essentials, in addition to this, it also facilities to stock up cold storage and dairy products. This apart the outlet also has a television provided, in order to advertise the goods available in the outlet.

APLICATIONS INVITED TO RUN FAIR PRICE SHOP AT DHATWADA

Panaji : October 5, 2016 ….Applications are invited from the interested parties residing in the locality of DhatwadaVillage Usgao of Ponda Taluka North Goa in Ponda Taluka from Co-operative societies of educated unemployed, Registered Co-op. Societies, educated unemployed, scheduled caste/ tribes, freedom fighter, physically handicapped and others, having spacious premises for handling and storing PDS, commodities and should be financially sound with reasonable business to run a Fair Price Shop.

In case of Cooperative societies of educated unemployed the majority of members should be necessarily required to be educated unemployed and should be on the live register of Employment Exchange for minimum two years and the age limit of each member should within 18-35 years.

The Educated unemployed should have passed S.S.C.E through any recognized school in the State of Goa and should be on the live register of Employment Exchange for minimum two years and the age limit of each member should be within 18-35 years.  Besides he/ she should be completely free from encumbrance of studies. No member of family definition being father/ mother/ spouse/ unmarried son/ daughter and unmarried brother/ sister living in the same undivided family should have an authorization to run the fair price shop in the village of Dhatwada, Usgao of  Ponda Taluka in  North Goa.

The applications should reach the office of the Mamlatdar of  Ponda- Goa  on or before October 25, 2016.

The award was  presented  to Goa Tourism by  Mr. Mehmood Ahmed Shah, Director of Tourism, JK Tourism.

Vintage bike and car rally hit Panjim streets, initiative by GTDC

Panjim, 04 october 2016: Goa was recently abuzzed with excitement as vintage bike and car owners, users, collectors and fans were seen decking up their priceless possession being paraded along with pride in Panjim on last Saturday.

More than 85 vintage cars and around 50 vintage bikes participated in Goa Tourism Development Corporation’s rally cum festival held recently on Saturday, 1st October 2016.

From the oldest surviving Cadilacs to the Fleetwood, Oldsmobile Super 88, the Chevrolet convertible and many other vintage cars and vintage bikes dated from 1921 to 1970 took to the streets of Panjim with their shiny spotless bodies and adorable poise.

The event which was the first of its kind was being organized by GTDC and is proposed to be an annual event which evoked huge turnout of spectators as the vintage automobiles made their way from Patto through the capital city upto Miramar and later assembled at the INOX Courtyard.

“The rally commenced at 10.30 am and concluded by 6 pm. The vintage bikes and cars were kept on display at the INOX Courtyard from 12 noon to 6 pm. After the programme, a function was held where in the cars and bikes were judged in different categories each having strong contenders.  The oldest automobile, most appealing and  the one travelling from the farthest  location for the festival were judged and awarded prizes.

A troupe with total number of 4 cars and one bike travelling from Nagpur covering 2,400 kms to and fro were the highlight of this event.

 

A Vintage Bike and Car drawing completion was also being organized from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

And A live Jazz show was staged at the INOX Courtyard from 6 pm onwards.

 

Minister for Tourism, Mr. Dilip Parulekar  flagged off the Vintage Bike and Car Festival from Patto at 10.30 am, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Laxmikant Parsekar presided over the prize distribution ceremony later in the evening.

 

Tourism Minister of Goa, Shri. Dilip Parulekar said “The Vintage Bike and Car Festival 2016 have got an overwhelming response from a number of vintage bike and car users and enthusiasts.   He said lets Come and witness the world’s coolest vintage bikes and cars for the first time on the streets of Goa.”

 

INTERNATIONAL SENIOR CITIZENS DAY CELEBRATED

 Panaji: October 04,2016 ….. The Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar has said that senior citizens are treasure of experience which they have acquired by working in various capacities  in various fields throughout their life. These people he said have rendered yeomen services towards the development of the society.

Shri Parsekar stated this after inaugurating “International Senior Citizens Day” at a function organized in the city recently .The Directorate of Social Welfare organized the function to mark the celebration of International Senior Citizens Day and felicitated twelve senior citizens from all over the state for their outstanding contribution towards the building of the society.

Shri Parsekar further said that we cannot undermine the services rendered by our senior citizens in the interest of the society in various forms like social workers, teachers, and professionals during their life time. Therefore he said it is our bounden duty to acknowledge and take care of them. In order to treat senior citizens separately, the Government intend to create Ward in the Goa Medical College. He sought their guidance and the suggestions made by them he said would be  taken care of. 

Minister for Social Welfare Shri Mahadev Naik while speaking at the function said that the senior citizens are the guiding force of the society and Government endeavours to provide amenities to ease their living.  Under DSSY scheme he said the Government has already extended financial assistance to senior citizens as a concern towards them.

MLA and Chairman of EDC, Shri Siddharth Kuncalienkar and Shri Roque Basil Maquo Dias, senior citizen also spoke on the occasion.

Shri Virender Kumar, Secretary Social Welfare, Senior Citizens and their family members, staff of the Social welfare Department were among those who attended the function.

Shri S.V Naik, Director of the Department of Social Welfare welcomed the gathering while Shri Sudesh Gawade, Asst. Director proposed the vote of thanks.  

FILING MSME DATA  BANK FOR SMALL ENTERPRISES MANDATORY

Panaji, October 3, 2016 …. Central  Government  is driving force behind “Make In India”, Skill India  and Digital India through which Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs are  also being immensely benefited. MSME Sector is second largest employment  provider in India. In order to catch up the complete data of  Micro Small and Medium enterprises, Ministry of MSME is building  a comprehensive live Digital Data Bank for MSME’s online. The MSME Data  Bank came in force since July 29, 2016.

Furnishing  information in MSME Data  Bank is compulsory to avail  the various schemes of States as well as Central Government meant for this Sector.

Ministry of  MSME has developed 24X7 MSME Data  Bank portal. The portal is Aadhaar and Udyog Aadhaar  enabled secured Application. The Uniqueness  of data is ensured through Permanent Account Number. The  enrolment is purely based on self certification basis and easy updation by MSME units on as and when required basis. Enrolment  facility is available  for individual MSME units/development organizations/Associations/Rating Agencies etc; including  state agencies. The MSME Data  Bank will  facilitate  Government for the Real-time census, which will be useful for policy  formation as well as individual organization of MSME sector.

The MSME Data  Bank will help the buyers mainly the Government  Department as well as public sector undertakings to have exclusive access to  search for MSME units for their procurement  needs, Online availability of  information on  investment in Plant & Machinery, Nature of Operation,  Employment Status, State-wise bifurcation, benefits extended to units, etc.

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises(MSME) Sector has emerged  as a highlighting  vibrant and dynamic sector of the economy over the last six  decades. MSME’s not only play crucial role in large employment   opportunities  at comparatively lower capital cost than large industries but also helps in Industrialization  of rural and backward areas.

The Web  portal is available  on www.msmedatabank.in. to file the information in detail about these units. Filing  is compulsory for those units  which are opting for various   schemes of State and Central Government.

54th  FOUNDATION DAY OF KBM CELEBRATED

Panaji, 2 Oct. 2016 …. Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Goa celebrated its 54th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm at Gomant Vidya Niketan, Margao, Govind (Baba) Kare auditorium. Finance and Information secretary, Govt. of Goa Shri. Daulat Hawaldar, President of Goa Konkani Akademi Shri. Veni Madhav Borkar, President of Konkani Bhasha Mandal Shri. Chetan Acharya, General Secretary Shri. Surel Tilve, Vice President Shri. Juse Lawrence and others were present on the dais.

Awards were presented for Konkani literature, service, education, journalism, translation, column writing and child literature to Father Moujin De Ataid, Smt. Aruna Rajesh Patnekar, Shri. Sandesh Prabhudessai, Shri. Mahesh Naik, Shri. Shantaram Varde walavlikar, Shri. Prakash Naik, Shri. Savio Pinto, Shri. K. M. Sukhtankar, Shri. Yashwant Palekar and Shri. Vincy Kwadrus. Besides this, students Shubham Kamat, Kaksam Naik, Prerna Palekar and Supriya Jugul were presented educational awards.

While addressing the gathering Shri. Daulat Hawaldar said that, native language has been transferred genetically in every child who took birth. Native language is a part of identity and every human being is connected throughout his life with his native language. Language and culture is interconnected and no one can separate it. Konkani language has its own liveliness. He lauded the work of Konkani Bhasha Mandal for working towards shaping language and culture in collective mind of people for past several years. Invention and resourcefulness are important basics for any literature he said. When language dies, its connection with literature and tradition dies therefore it is very important to conserve language Shri.     Hawaldar      said.

Shri. Veni Madhav Borkar also spoke on the occasion while Shri Chetan Acharya gave his presidential speech. Students of Konkani Bhasha Mandals Ravindra Kelekar Dnyan Mandir and Vidya Bhuvans students presented musical, dance and entertainment programme. Shri. Juze Lawrence welcomed. SHRI PARASEKAR PRESENTS SCHOLARSHIPS UNDER GOA SCHOLARS SCHEME

panaji::: Oct 01, 2016 …. Chief Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar  on Friday presented Scholarships under the prestigious “Goa Scholar scheme” (13th Edition)  for  Goan scholars to pursue higher studies in India and abroad at a function held at Directorate of Education Porvorim.

The Chief Minister said that the Goa Scholar Scheme, which envisaged extending financial support to the scholars based on merit. He said the objective of the scheme is to promote pursuit of post-graduate studies by younger population of Goa, by way of recognizing the meritorious and outstanding candidates with a Scholarship to undertake Post-graduate and Ph.D studies in Institutions of proven excellence, in India or abroad.

122  students had applied for the scheme. Of them,78 were shortlisted based on transparent yard sticks and finally best 20 were selected.

He asked the students to be connected to the roots, and make the country and the state proud with their achievements.

He said the Government has been providing infrastructure for education in Goa. On the health front, Chief Minister said that the Government will start a super specialty hospital in the GMC campus shortly.

The amount of the scholarship is Rs. 6  lakh in India and $ 20,000 (one time) for studies abroad.

Since the Goa Scholar scheme was started in goa and till date around 160 Goan students have been awarded the “Goan Scholar” scholarship. Many of them have completed their studies and are pursuing various vocations within the country as well as abroad.

The basic objective of the State scholarship is to promote postgraduate studies by younger population of Goa.

A high-powered committee under the chairmanship of  Shri Ashank  Desai, founder President of Mastek India , was constituted to select the “Goa Scholars”.

TOBACCO CONTROL MEETING HELD

 Panaji: September 30, 2016 ….. Additional Collector II South Goa Shri Johnson B.Fernandes held a meeting with the South Goa District Level Coordination Committee for Tobacco Control along with senior official of various government departments from South Goa and NGOs  in the  Mathany Saldanha Administrative Complex, Margao recently.

       The meeting discussed about Tobacco Control awareness programme which will be starting from October 3, 2016. He said that every taluka should be serious in carrying out COTPA drives.

        To make the awareness programme a grand success the  collector South advised to take the help of maximum participants of students, youth, NGOs, in form of floats in the rally campaign.

        Addl. Collector, Shri Johnson Fernandes directed all the Mamlatdars. Jt. Mamlatdars and concerned officials to conduct raids, identify the defaulters and issue Challens immediately.

        Addl. Collector II also directed to issue reminders to the Commercial Tax Department as they failed to provide a list of banned chewing tobacco products.

      Dr. Doreen Dias, Nodal officer, District level coordination Committee for Tobacco Control, Hospicio Hospital, Margao presented  the minutes of the last meeting.

AGRICULTURE MINISTER TO INAUGURATE HILLY VEGETABLE FESTIVAL ON OCT. 1

 Panaji: September 29, 2016 ….. The Agriculture Technology Management Agency, South Goa, Directorate of Agriculture, is organizing the 3 days “Hilly Vegetable Festival” from October 1 to 3, 2016 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. The festival will be inaugurated at the hands of  Minister of Agriculture Shri. Ramesh Tawadkar at 4.00 pm.

        The “Hilly vegetable festival” an Agricultural Exhibition is organized to promote the production, value addition and Marketing of Hilly Vegetables. Also competition on Hilly vegetable like Muskmelon, Ridge gourd, Bottle gourd, Pumpkin, Yam and Cucumber.

      The competition on vegetable carving open for Higher Secondary Schools of South Goa District will be held on October 1, 2016. Training and Demonstration will be held at the venue. On same day demonstration on vegetable carving at 11.30 am. and Training on Chilly cultivation at 2.30 p.m and vermicompost at 4.00 p.m on October 2, 2016 demonstrations will be held on “sea shell craft 10.30 a.m., Jam preparation at 3.00 pm and mushroom cultivation at 4.00 p.m.

          During these 3 days exhibition various vegetables grown in hilly areas agricultural technologies and services provided in the field of Agriculture and allied sectors like Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, dairy, Fisheries etc will be showcased.

         Government Agencies, Non Government Agencies, Self Help Groups and Private companies will participate and display their advanced technologies, products, Hi-tech inputs services etc during the exhibition.
