STEPS TAKEN TO PROVIDE TIME BOUND SERVICES.

Panaji, May 9, 2017 …  As a part of initiative to provide time bound and effective services to all the people in Goa through the Office of Mamlatdars, Dy. Collectors and Collectorate Offices various steps have been planned and implemented.

 While giving these services there can be some grievances which have to be brought to the notice of Head of Department and the Government in order to resolve the same. In order to facilitate the people to raise their grievances, various methods like drop boxes have been adopted. As the part of this initiative an email ID: saang.goenkar@nic.in has been created which is being directly monitored by Office of Collector (North), Collector (South), Mamlatdars, Revenue Department and Office of Minister for Revenue.

 All the Citizens of Goa are therefore requested to use this email ID for logging their grievances regarding any of the services given by the Office of Mamlatdars, Dy. Collectors, Collectors and Revenue Department in Goa.

OORJA CAPFs YOUTH U-19 FOOTBALL TALENT HUNT TOURNAMENT 2017 FINALS ON MAY 2, 2017

Panaji, May 8, 2017 … The final fixture of the OORJA CAPFs Youth U-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament 2017 will be played at Bambolim Football Ground, Goa on May 10, 2017 at 4.15 pm (Girls) and 8.15 pm (Boys).

Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar will be the Chief Guest. In the Girls match St. Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Mapusa will play versus Carmel Higher Secondary School, Margao. The Girls trophy is named as ‘Yolanda D’Souza Trophy’.

In the Boys section- Dempo Higher Secondary School, Miramar will play against Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim for ‘Bernard Pereira Trophy’. Ace Goan footballer Shri. Bruno Coutinho is the brand ambassador for the games.

No entry fee will be charged and the match is open to public for viewing.

DEVELOPMENTAL WORKS BEGINS AT  KORGAO

Panaji:-May 7, 2016 …. Tourism Minister Shri Manohar Alias Babu Azgaonkar Laid down Foundation stone for various Developmental works in the jurisdiction of V.P. Korgao yesterday. The work will be carried out under grant in aid scheme implemented   by the Directorate of  Panchayat.

 Developmental work like footpath at Konadi from main road to Ganapati viserjan point, Protection wall and footpath of Vadleshwar Devastan and Protection wall and footpath at Pradnya High School at Devsu, Protection wall and gutter near Joaquim Fernandes house at Devsu, Protection wall of Rashtoli Devasthan at Mainwada, footpath from Venjin house to Juze Carvalho house at Mainwada, Footpath at Harijanwada and  Deulwada, Construction of footpath at Bhatwadi, Construction of footpath at Gawadewada, beautification and footpath at Audumber Devasthan at Pethechawada and Footpath in Bhaid wada with the total estimate cost around Rs.1 crore.

 

          Speaking on the occasion Shri Azgaonkar expressed happiness over the upcoming projects and said that the Government is in process of building quality infrastructure for the State. He urged peoples corporation and  support for further additional developmental works.

GMC TO BE STRENGTHENED FOR QUALITY FACILITIES: HEALTH MINISTER

Panaji, May 06, 2017 … Emphasizing that the functioning of Goa Medical College needs to be strengthened, Health Minister Shri Vishwajit Rane assured to provide better and quality facilities to cater to the needs of patients as well as Doctors.

Shri Rane speaking at a meeting held with the HoD’s of GMC at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim today, said infrastructure facilities in GMC will be improved and added that the registration counter will also be increased to facilitate the patients.

The meeting was arranged with HOD to acquaint himself of the various difficulties being faced by Doctors in the discharge of their professional duties and also to ascertain the facilities required to provide better services to the patients.

 GMC will be one of the best Hospital in India, shri Rane Remarked and appealed to the Doctors to suggest their ideas/views to make it proactive to the needs of the Patients.

He pointed that the condition of many units in the hospital are very critical.  This will not be tolerated, he added.  Shri Rane directed the Dean of GMC and HOD’s to move proposals for whatever requirements that are required to meet the medical services at the hospital.

        Shri Rane said that he was shocked during his visit to see stray dogs moving freely in the hospital. Such lethargy will not be tolerated in future, he remarked.

        Workload at the hospital has increased manifold times, the Health Minister said and stressed the need to sort out the issues. He emphasized to increase the registration counter before May 15to avoid rush and queue of patients.

Reiterating the Government’s commitment to strengthen and provide all the facilities at GMC, Shri Rane mentioned that patients coming for treatment are mainly poor and can’t afford the procurement of medicines from outside.  He advised the doctors to avoid prescribing medicine to patients from outside and to ensure that the medicines are available within.

        The meeting discussed the issues like recruitment of Doctors, manpower, infrastructure etc at the hospital.

Dean, Goa Medical College, Dr Pradeep Naik; Medical Superintendent, Dr. Savio Rodrigues; Shri Sanjeev Gadkar, Director (Admn) GMC and Shri Sunil Masurkar, Joint Secretary Health were also present on the occasion.

EMPLOYMENT SCHEME FOR CHILDREN OF FREEDOM FIGHTERS EXTENDED FOR TWO YEARS

Panaji : May 4, 2017 …  The Government of Goa had framed  a scheme for providing employment to the children of freedom fighters in the Government offices.

           The validity of the same has been extended for a period of two years with effect from March 1, 2017 till February 28, 2019.

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY ON MAY 22

 Panaji : May 3, 2017 … Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB) has organized poster competition  and street play and elocution on  May 14, 2017 at Auditorium hall of Goa Science Center, Miramar Panaji, to mark the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB). Last date for submission of poster in person or by e-mail is  May 10, 2017 till 5.30 pm

        May 22, is celebrated worldwide as International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB). On the occasion of the same the UN General Assembly has declared IDB 2017 theme as “Biodiversity and Sustainable Tourism” to coincide with the observance of 2017 as the “International year of Sustainable Tourism for Development”.

 This year National Level event for celebrating (IDB) will be held in Goa on May 22, 2017 at “Dinanath Mangeshkar Auditorium”, Kala Academy, Panaji. From 10.00 a.m. onwards, which is expected to attend by the Union Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Shri. Anil Madhav Dave along with Chief Minister of Goa Shri. Manohar Parrikar, and other National Level dignitaries including Central Secretaries.

LAST DATE FOR FILING OF RETURNS EXTENDED UPTO MAY 15

Panaji : 1st May, 2017 … The last date for filing of quarterly or annual returns, as the case may be, for the quarter or year ending March 31, 2017, as a special case has been extended upto May 15, 2017.

All the assesses registered under the Goa Value Added Tax Act, 2005 ( Goa Act 9 of 2005) either as regular dealer or as composition dealer are required to file their quarterly / annual returns for the quarter / year ending March 31, 2017 on or before May 15, 2017; failure to file returns within the extended  time will attract penalties as provided in section 55 of the said Act.

GTDC residencies to get facelift, to introduce Camiaos bus tours and focus on infrastructure development: GTDC Board

Panjim, April 30: Keeping in mind the increasing demand for clean and affordable accommodation facilities for tourists visiting Goa, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has decided to renovate four of its existing residencies across the State.

These include the residencies at Mapusa, Margao, Vasco and Calangute annex. It is proposed to give all these residencies a facelift and facilities. These proposals have been approved by the GTDC Board which met on Wednesday.

Some  of the other decisions  taken  by the GTDC Board include  the construction  of a  Convention Centre  in South Goa which will have  large  halls for events, weddings, banquets etc,  offices and adequate parking.

The GTDC Board has also agreed to float fresh tenders for appointing agencies for the maintenance and upkeep of the Multi Level Car Parking (MLCP) project and Santa Monica Jetty.

 

The GTDC has also proposed to buy new buses which would be later designed as  Camiaos for  conducting sightseeing tours.

 

The GTDC Board also agreed to lease out office space to the FFRO and India Tourism at the Paryatan Bhavan, Patto.

 

During the meeting, various proposals pertaining to tourism infrastructure were taken up and proposals with regards to pathways, utility services, signage’s, sewage treatment plants, and lighting were also approved by the board. The board has also agreed to a proposal for development of jetties for tourism purpose and a proposal to obtain Rs.500 crore from the central ministry under the Sagar Mala scheme has been agreed upon. This proposal will be sent to the Captain of Ports who will thereafter forward it to the Govt of India.
