PARYATAN PARV TO BE HELD FROM OCTOBER 5-25

Panaji, October 9, 2017 …  The Department of Tourism is organizing “ Paryatan Parv” from October 5-25, 2017. Various programs are organised to mark the occasion.

Activities like Tourism walk, rally on tourism, nukkad natak, run for incredible India, hygiene awareness among tourists, street food vendors, other unorganized, sector stakeholders, sensitization in neighborhood about Atithi Devo Bhava, tourism walk (Gandhi circle to parking lot) excursion trips for students to iconic places, cultural activities quiz competition and yoga are organised in various places across the state.    

CENTRAL SCHEME FOR “ RESEARCH/STUDIES, MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF DEVELOPMENT”

Panaji, October 9, 2017 ….  The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India has implemented a central sector scheme namely, “Research/Studies, Monitoring and Evaluation of Development Scheme Including Publicity”. The said scheme provides professional charges to those Research Organizations/Institutions/Councils/Civil Societies/Universities including Deemed Universities, Reputed Institution of higher learning, Autonomous Bodies/Market Research Agencies and Registered Bodies of Professionals which have the expertise and are willing to undertake purposeful Operation Research/Market Research/Action Research:

·         On the problems and requirement of minorities including baseline surveys/surveys;

·         Carrying out concurrent monitoring on the implementation of various scheme undertaken for minorities; and

·         To provide professional charges to Government agencies and reputed private media agencies and Media Management Agency to carry out Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities through multi-media campaign including print, electronic and other media.

DATE FOR SCHOLARSHIP SCHEMES EXTENDED

Panaji, October 9, 2017 …  The  last date for submission of  online application under scholarship schemes i.e Pre-matric, Post-matric and Merit-cum-means for students belonging to the minority communities for the year 2017-18 under National Scholarship Portal (NSP 2.0) for students belonging to the minority communities has been extended upto  October 31, 2017.

It is also informed that supporting documents of Scholarship amount less than Rs.50,000/- be kept at institution level and for scholarships amount more than Rs. 50, 000/- may be uploaded on the portal.

RBI TO CONDUCT AUCTION OF GOVERNMENT STOCK

 Panaji: October 8, 2017 …. As a part of the Government of India’s approved planned borrowing for the State for year 2017-18, the Government of Goa has offered to sell Goa State Government Stock (securities)of 10- year tenure of an aggregate amount of Rs. 200.00 crore (nominal). Government stock will be sold through the Reserve Bank of  India , Mumbai office (PDO) fort, Mumbai by auction at a coupon rate to be determined by the Reserve Bank of India at the yield based auction under  multiple price format.

The  auction will be conducted by the Reserve Bank of India at its Mumbai office, fort, Mumbai on October 10, 2017. Bids for the auction should be submitted in electronic format, on the Reserve Bank of India core banking solution (E- kuber) system on October 10, 2017. The competitive bids shall be submitted electronically on the Reserve Bank of India core banking solution (E-Kuber) system between 10.30 A.M. and 12.00 P.m. and the noncompetitive bids shall be submitted electronically on the Reserve Bank of India core banking solution (E-Kuber) system between 10.30 A.M. and 11.30 A.M. The result of the auction shall be displayed by the  Reserve Bank of India on its website on the same day.

The payment by successful bidders will be on October 11, 2017 before  close of banking hours by means of cash, banker’s cheque / pay order, demand draft payable at Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai (Fort). The loan will be repaid at par on October 11, 2027.The cut –off yield determined at the auction will be the coupon rate percent per annum on the stock sold at the auction. The interest will be paid every half yearly on April 11 and October 11.

            The auction is also open to eligible individuals and institutions on non competitive basis to maximum limits to 10% of the notified amount. The Goa State Government stock will be issued for a minimum amount of Rs. 10,000/- (face value) and in multiples thereof. The  Reserve Bank of India will have full discretion to accept or reject any or all bids either wholly or partially, if deemed fit, without assigning any reason.

DM SOUTH INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR ACQUIRING CITIZENSHIP

Margao:  October 7, 2017 …. The South Goa District Magistrate, Smt. Anjali Sehravat has invited applications and/or objections accompanied by all supporting documents, from the residents of the District of South Goa, within a period of three months from the date of issue of this Public Notice,

for the purpose of inquiring into the issue of acquisition of citizenship of another country by such residents and make appropriate recommendations to the Central Government, in accordance with the procedure specified in Schedule III of the said Rules.

PENALTY IMPOSED ON TWO FOOD BUSINESS OPERATORS

Panaji, October 7, 2017 …. The District Magistrate cum Adjudicating Officer, North Goa Smt. Nila Mohanan imposed a penalty of Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand) each on Shri Dugaprasad Kukalkar, owner and Shri Bahdur B.K, food vendor  of M/s. Decent Fast Food, Sanquelim, under the provisions of the food safety and standard Act, 2006, and the rules/regulations, for selling/manufacturing ‘chicken pakoda’ which was declared and reported to be substandard food under the aforesaid Act, as it contained non-permitted synthetic food colour.

Both the parties admitted to the violation and has also stopped the activity of operating the firm, M/s. Decent Fast Food, Sanquelim.

The said sample of ‘chicken pakoda’ was drawn by the Senor  Food Safety Officer, Shri Rajiv Korde of the Directorate of  Food and Drugs Administration, Bambolim.

The said penal order was passed on September 20, 2017 and the case on behalf of State was represented by Adv. Purushottam Karpe.

MENTAL HEALTH WEEK TO BE OBSERVED FROM OCT. 9

Panaji, October 7, 2017 …. The Mental Health week will be celebrated by the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behaviour, Bambolim, Goa from October 9 to 14, 2017. Shri B.R. Singh, Secretary Health, will inaugurate the function on October 10, 2017 at 11.00 am in the conference Hall, IPHP, Bambolim.

The exhibition-cum-sale of products which includes items like wax candles, coconut shell items, greeting cards, painting, paper bags, plastic wire items, embroidered bed covers, pillow covers, table clothes prepared by the patients undergoing occupational therapy unit will be displayed.

 Special programmes will be organized for the indoor and OPD patients. Awareness programme on the Mental Health for OPD patients and their relatives will be held by the nursing staff and doctors. Various other prorgrammes such as lectures, group discussions, singing & painting  competition, various games shall be held among the indoor patients. Public is invited for these programmes.     

VERIFY ANTECEDENTS OF PERSON/TENANTS: DM(SOUTH)

Margao:  October 7, 2017 …. The South Goa District Magistrate, Smt. Anjali Sehravat have ordered verification of the antecedents of the person when they rent their premises/accommodation and/or when property is leased to tenants.

The owners/management of all hotels, lodging and Boarding, Private Guest houses, paying guest accommodation, temporary residential accommodation of all religious bodies are directed to prohibit any visitors/guests to check in without providing any photo identity proof as specified.

The landlord/tenants/owner/person of any house/property are also directed not to let/sublet/rent out any accommodation to any person unless and until he/she has furnished the particulars of the tenants/person to whom the accommodation is provided to the police incharge of the concerned area.

The incharge of such accommodation shall provide such facility for inspection of the record to the police authorities any other authority authorised by the District Magistrate.

MAHARASHTRA GOVT WILL FORM DISTRICT LEVEL COMMITTEE FOR GST & DIGITAL PAYMENTS

The Maharashtra Govt in order to boost adoption & acceptance of GST & Digital Payments will constitute District level Committee in each District of Maharashtra comprising of senior Govt officials & representatives of Confederation of All India Traders. The Committee will regulate and monitor acceptance of GST & Digital Payments among trading community and will also render assistance to resolve GST related issues at District level itself.               

The decision was arrived at a meeting held today at Mantralaya Mumbai between Chief Secretary of Maharashtra Shri Sumit Mallick & a CAIT delegation led by its President Shri B C Bhartia & Secretary General Shri Praveen Khandelwal. Additional Chief Secretary, Special Commissioner GST & other senior officials of Maharashtra also attended the meeting.                                        

The meeting was held in the wake of directions of Prime Minister given to Chief Secretaries of all States few days back to promote adoption & access of GST & Digital Payments at District level and handholding of Traders .

Shri Mallick while praising the positive approach of CAIT assured that Maharashtra Govt is committed to provide ease of doing business for trading community . Genuine problems being faced by traders on GST have already been forwarded to GST Council for resolution and hope that GST Council will take appropriate steps.

In meeting, the CAIT also suggested that Digital Kiosks may be opened in market places where traders who do not have computers can make tax compliance against nominal payment.Offices of different Trade Associations in a District can be made as Help Centres equipped with Computer and trained staff to help the traders in case of need. A Trainer Development program for skill development of Youths may be planned who will be trained completely and can act as ” Tax Return Preparers ” as prescribed under GST law and also could be helpful in manning Help Centres.

Free Wi-Fi may be provided in rural areas, Gram Panchayat at least for couple of hours daily to assist the people in tax compliance.

SMART CITY PANAJI MISSION

Panaji, October 6, 2017 … Panaji is one of the cities selected under Smart City among 51 cities across India and under Accessibility India 31 buildings and has been identified for providing barrier free access.  

Under the Central Scheme “Accessibility India” and Smart City” a one- day seminar is being organized in the office of State Commissioner for persons with disabilities in collaboration with National Centre for promotion of Employment of persons with disabilities on October 13, 2017 from 10.00 am onwards at Conference Hall, Sanskruti Bhavan, Panaji.

The conference will be attended by the key decision makers like Smart City, Panaji, town and country planning. Directorate of IT, Transport, Tourism, Social Welfare Department, Accessibility India Campaign and PWD. In addition a team of expert from Delhi and Pune will highlight the importance and parameters of a barrier free city.
