SATTARI TO GET A FACE LIFT: RANE

Panaji December 21, 2017  … Health Minister, Shri Vishwajeet Rane asserting that the Government is pro-active under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar informed that the entire Sattari taluka will soon get a new facelift with various infrastructure facilities.

Shri Vishwajeet Rane was speaking as a chief guest at Dhangar Mahotsav organised on the occasion of Anniversary celebration of Goa Dhangar Samaj Seva Sangh Sattari held at Bhuipal Sattari, yesterday.

Shri Rane maintained that initiatives have been taken to provide new infrastructure facilities to Valpoi hospital with a vision to bring Sattari on par with other talukas. The hospital will be soon upgraded with minor operation theatre, ultra sound, X-Ray facility, dialysis unit, medicine facility on par with Goa Medical College, he added.

Listing the projects which are in the pipeline like new RMD at Pissurlem, beautification of Honda and Keri villages, hot mixing of roads, modern Aanganwadi/ play school etc, Shri Rane reiterated that the long pending land issue in Sattari, will soon be resolved.

Government is working for the progress and welfare of people irrespective of cast creed and community Shri Rane said pointing that Dhangar community is developing and reaching the highest position in every field.

Complimenting the Dhangar Community for reaching great height in every field and congratulating the meritorious students who excelled in their respective streams, he urged everybody to live and work together for the progress of the Taluka.

Shri Rane felicitated various students from Dhangar Community for the meritorious achievement and various Panchayat members form Dhangar Community for achieving success in their respective field.

Dhangar Samaj Seva Sangh Sattari also felicitated Health Minister, Shri Vishwajeet Rane and Adv Saresh Lotlikar for their social service towards their Community.

Adv Saresh Lotlikar, Shri Sagun Wadkar, Smt Ankita Navelkar, President, Zilla Panchayat and Shri Premnath Hazare, Zilla Panchayat Member also spoke on the occasion.

Smt Saraswati Wadkar, ZP member; Smt Jayashri Parab, Sarpanch Pissurlem; Shri Atma Gaonkar, Sarpanch Honda: Shri Dayanand Parab, and other Panchayat Members were present on the occasion.

VISHWAJIT RANE INAUGURATES POST OPERATIVE CARDIO THORACIC ICU

 Panaji, December 20, 2017 ….  “GMC (Goa Medical College) is a premier institute in Goa.  It should not be a place of last resort that people go to but the place of first resort. The doctors here are doing a great job, “Shri Vishwajit Rane, Minister for Health said at the inauguration of the newly commissioned Post-Operative Cardio-Thoracic ICU, of the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Department of GMC.

 Shri Rane further said that the act of Shri Narayan Bandekar, Industrialist and Philanthropist, who has fully sponsored this facility under the Manda and Narayan Bandekar Charitable Trust, is an example of true Goemkarponn where lives will be saved.

Dr. Shirish Borkar, Professor and Head CVTS, GMC said that having post-operative Cardio thoracic ICU in close proximity  to the operation theatre will aid in better monitoring of patients and decrease patients  risk of infection. He added that this is a critical set up required by GMC which will help to save lives of Goans and which will strengthen the hands of the doctors. 

Dr. Pradeep Naik, the Dean of GMC informed that they plan to introduce teaching unit and super specialty courses in cardiology.

Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, the  Medical Superintendent of GMC said that the help and support of Philanthropists was very much needed to strengthen the GMC.

The new 5 bedded post-operation  cardio-thoracic ICU will increase the surgical output of the department there by reducing the waiting list of the surgical patients.

CHIEF MINISTER EXTENDS LIBERATION DAY GREETINGS

    In his message, the Chief Minister has said, “I extend my greetings to the people of Goa on the occasion of our 56th Liberation Day. On this memorable day, let us recall the valiant efforts of our freedom fighters who fought against oppression, and the remarkable role played by the Indian Army in liberating Goa from Portuguese rule.”

          “I once again extend my warm wishes to the people of Goa on this auspicious day,” the Chief Minister concludes.

APL CARDHOLDERS ASKED NOT TO FURNISH INFORMATION IN FORM NO.2 FOR OPTION A & B

Panaji, December 19, 2017 … Attention of all the  FPS owner’s  is invited by the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs to the Form No. 2 circulated to the APL ration crd holder for furnishing information along with photo copies of various documents. In the said Form. 2 at page no.2, the card holder is asked to give information on “Option” A), Getting foodgrains quota or B) Cash transfer of  food subsidy (DBT). The Department of Civil Supplies and Consumers Affairs does not require the information of the option A or B at page No.2 and the same may be treated as deleted.

      The APL Card holders are therefore requested to take a note of the same and not required to furnish information on the above mentioned option in the Form No.2.

          Further, the Department also make an appeal to all the Ration card holders to kindly co-operate in furnishing the information and documents called by the Department.   

VARIOUS PROGRAMMES TO MARK GOA LIBERATION DAY CELEBRATION

Panaji:  December 18, 2017 …. The Goa State will celebrate 56th anniversary of its Liberation on December 19, 2017. Various programmes will be held in the state to mark the celebration. The main state level function will be held at S.A.G. Ground, near Swimming Pool, Campal, Panaji, at 9.15 am where Chief Minister of Goa Shri Manohar Parrikar will unfurl the national Flag, inspect the Parade, take the Salute and later address the people of the State.

On the occasion the Chief Minster will also present awards to those who have contributed and excelled in different fields for their meritorious services.

The function will also be attended by Cabinet Ministers, Leader of the Opposition Shri Chandrakant Kavlekar, MP’s, MLA’s, Hon’ble Judges of High Court, Ld. Advocate General, Freedom Fighters among others.

On his arrival at the venue of the function the Chief Minster will be received by Minister for Power Shri Pandurang Madkaikar, Chief Secretary Shri Dharmendra Sharma, IAS and Director General of Police, Dr. Muktesh Chander, IPS.

Presentation of Cultural floats, national integrations songs, March past and Mass P.T. Drill by school children will also be held to mark the celebration.

Apart from the main function the Liberation day will be celebrated at the District level function to be held at Margao at 9.15 a.m. where Minister for Town and Country Planning Shri Vijay Sardesai will perform the Flag hoisting ceremony whereas Minister for Public Works Shri Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar will unfurl the national flag at the function to be held at Ponda. At Mapusa Minister for Revenue Shri Rohan Khaute will perform the flag hoisting Ceremony. Minister for Panchayat Shri Mauvin Godinho, will unfurl the tri-colour at Vasco;  Minister for Tourism Shri Manohar Azgaonkar  at Pernem , Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Dr. Pramod Sawant, at Bicholim , Deputy Collector at Canacona, Deputy Collector at Quepem, Deputy Collector at Dharbandora and Mamlatdar  at Sanguem and Valpoi .

As part of the celebration Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula, Old Secretariat, Panaji, New Secretariat, Porvorim and Directorate of Accounts building will be illuminated on the nights of December 18 and 19, 2017.

Later in the evening Governor of Goa will host a reception at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula on December 19, 2017 at 5.15 p.m. 

MOTORISTS ASKED TO ABIDE TRAFFIC RULES

  Panaji, December 17 2017 … According to the direction of Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety report recommending suspension of Driving License of the motorist committing following violation are being sent to concerned license issuing authority (RTA).

Driving at a speed exceeding the specified limit, Red light jumping, Carrying overload in goods carriages and carrying persons in goods carriages, Driving  vehicle under the influence of drink and drugs, Using mobile phone while driving a vehicle.   

During the year 2017, till  November 30, 2017 total 3,834 reports have been sent to various License Issuing Authorities (RTA)  for suspension of Driving License and till September  30, 2017 total 704 driving license have  been suspended by the concerned RTA and in rest of the cases the process is on.

Traffic Police are also receiving clippings of traffic violations from Traffic Sentinels. Therefore  all the motorists are requested to strictly abide by the traffic rules and ensure mobility with safety. In case of traffic violation listed above apart from traffic fine, they may lose their driving license for 3 months.

GOVERNMENT COMPLETES THE WORK OF NEW WATER SUPPLY SCHEME

Panaji, December 16, 2017 … Office of the Executive Engineer PWD-III (PHE-N), PWD has informed  that the Government has completed a new water supply scheme to supply water to the residents of Kadamba Plateau viz. the construction of 2 sumps of 2000 m3 each and 2 overheads reservoir of 650 m3 each along with conveying main, feeder and distribution pipelines.

However, due to work  National Highway at Kadamba Plateau, alignment of the conveying main has altered and the work of relaying has commenced. Also Opa Water Treatment Plant is being augmented by construction of a 27 MLD WTP and the same will be commissioned by May 2018.

After relaying of pipeline the water supply scheme to Kadamba Plateau is expected to be commissioned latest by June 2018 for public distribution of treated water as informed by the executive Engineer –III,  PWD.

CM INAUGURATES RUA DE QUREIM  BRIDGE

 Panaji: Dec.14,2017 ….. The Government is smoothly marching ahead with proper planning and have initiated certain steps to strengthen financial position of the state,  and now the time has come to decide future course of the development.  This was stated by the Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar while speaking as chief guest at inaugural function after inaugurating newly constructed bridge across Rua De Qureim creek Lane I at Mala Panaji today. The function coincided with the birthday of the Chief Minister.

 This was the ambitious project of Goa State Infrastructural Development Corporation and the bridge is constructed by Larsen & Toubro Company  for  a estimated cost  cost of the lane I is Rs. 8 crores.

Shri Parrikar further speaking said development is a continuous process which requires positive approach and cooperation of the people. This bridge he said have decreased the distance between Mala and Patto and have saved time as well. He appreciated GSIDC, L&T and those who are associated with the construction of bridge as well.

The Minister of State for AYUSH ( independent charge.) Shri Shripad Naik said that the people of Goa have assigned the task of the development of the state in the hands of right person like Shri Manohar Parrikar. During his tenure as Chief Minister he said Parrikar have immensely contributed in achieving all round development of the state. He wished him on his birthday and hoped for better health and life ahead.

The Member of Parliament South Goa Shri Narendra Savoikar lauded the work done by Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar in taking  Goa ahead in sectors like education, infrastructure, health, industry and so on. He said it is his regime during which the state has witnessed sizeable development. He wished him on his birth day for better health ahead to lead the state.

To smoother the flow of vehicular traffic, Traffic Police is regularly initiating strict action against such erring buses.
