MERIT BASED AWARD FOR SC STUDENTS

Panaji : July  10, 2018 …. The Directorate of Social Welfare is implementing a scheme titled ‘Merit Based Award and Recognition of High Performance in the Board exams of SSC and HSSC in the state of Goa’ for Scheduled Castes Students.

 The objective of the scheme is to motivate students by giving Merit Based Award based on the benchmark of the performance and to provide financial incentive to high performing students who are economically weak.

Any Scheduled Caste student who has passed Xth & XIIth March 2018 Exam, securing marks in the range between 50% to 59.99% will be given a financial award of Rs.5000, students securing marks in the range between 60% to 69.99% will be given  Rs.8000, students securing marks in the range between 70% to 74.99% will be given  of Rs.10,000 and students securing 75% marks and above will be given a financial award of Rs.15000.

Under the scheme amongst the SC students, first five Rank Holders of SSC, first five Rank Holders of HSSC Board Exams (separately for all the Streams of Science, Commerce, Arts and Vocational) will be felicitated.

A Certificate of Appreciation will be given at the time of felicitation. Financial award of Rs.20,000 will be transferred electronically in the Bank Account of the rank holder student. There is no restriction on the basis of income ceiling.

Applications are invited from the deserving students of SC Community of Goan origin so as to reach the Directorate of Social Welfare Office, 18th June road, Panaji   Office latest by  August 31, 2018. The application forms may be obtained from the Office on any working day. The applications will be scrutinized as per the percentage of marks scored by them irrespective of the Board to which the Exam is affiliated. CAPTAIN OF PORTS LAUNCHES NEW BOAT

 Panaji, July 9, 2018 … Minister for Ports Shri. Jayesh Salgaonkar launched a new transport vehicle M.L. Saligao at the Captain of Ports jetty, Panaji today. Captain of Ports Shri. James Braganza and other officials were present on the occasion.

“The boat is a kind of work vehicle which will be mainly be used for transporting equipment, towing operations and navigating bouyers,” S hri. Salgaokar informed.

“The boat is a replacement for all the old ones. Apart for its regular use, this boat will be utilized to solve various issues related to ferry boats in the water,” informed Shri. Braganza.

PRESIDENT PAYS A VISIT TO OLD GOA CHURCH AND MANGESHI TEMPLE

Panaji, July 8, 2018President of India Shri. Ram Nath Kovind along with First Lady Smt. Savita Kovind visited Basilica of Bom Jesus Church in Old Goa and Shri Manguesh Temple in Mangeshi, Ponda today. Governor Dr. Smt. Mridula Sinha accompanied the President and the First Lady during both the visits.

Fr. Patricio Fernandes, Rector of Basilica of Bom Jesus received the President at Basilica of Bom Jesus and briefed about the interiors and history of the Church.

At Mangeshi, the President was welcomed and received by Minister for Art and Culture Shri. Govind Gaude and Smt. Anjali Sehrawat, IAS. Here, the President was briefed about the temple, its history, festivals and rituals by President of Mangesh Devasthan Committee Shri. Chandrakant Dhume.

ENCOURAGE STUDENTS FOR INVOLVEMENT IN SOCIAL ACTIVITIES- GOVERNOR

Panaji: July 8, 2018 … The Governor of Goa Dr.(Smt.)Mridula Sinha has stressed the need  to encourage students to take part in social activities and imbibe in them moral values.

The Governor  was addressing at the concluding ceremony of Golden Jubilee year celebration of Harmal Panchakroshi Shikshan Mandal at Harmal Pernem recently.

Dr. Sinha lauded the institution for having successfully completed 50 golden years of its inception. This is the precious temple of knowledge which came into existence 50 years ago which has produced personalities of versatile talents, artistic ideas, academic achievements and creative insights.

 Dr. Sinha further had a word of praise for the management for its hard work and support to the institution.

 Shri Laxmikant Parsekar, Chairman of Harmal Panchakroshi Shikshan Mandal speaking on the occasion expressed his happiness over the successful completion of 50 years of  the institution. He said, this institution not only imparts education to the children from Harmal but also from other parts of the State and neighboring State Maharashtra.

Smt. Smita Parsekar, Head Mistress, Shri Govind Desai, Principal, Harmal Panchakroshi Higher Secondary, Shri Uddesh Natekar, Principal of Colleage, Shri Suryakant Naik, President, Shri Duwarkanath Naik, Secretary, Shri Gangaram Gadekar, Treasurer and Shri Sudhir Naik, Member were present on the occasion.

A souvenir brought out by the institution was released at the hands of Governor Dr.(Smt.) Sinha on the occasion.

The teaching and non teaching staffs were honored on the occasion for their services..

CM LAUNCHES NATIONAL CAREER SERVICE (NCS) PORTAL

Panaji: July 8,2018 … The Chief Minister Shri Manohar  Parrikar in the presence of Minister for Labour and Employment Shri Rohan Khaunte launched National Career Service  (NCS) Portal at Secretariat in Porvorim recently.

The National Career Service (NCS) Portal is an initiative by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. The key success factor of NCS initiative revolves around strengthening the existing employment exchange ecosystem with an ICT enabled platform and reaching out to masses through multiple delivery channels and partnership with existing job market players.

 Shri Parrikar while speaking on the occasion said that the significance of this Portal is that it will provide employment avenues available at a national and state level. It will work as easy access for job seekers offering multiple career and employment options across the country and state as well. It will also help in getting actual data of employers, employees, employed and unemployed etc.

 Shri Parrikar further also said that, through this Portal the stakeholders from the public as well as from private sector can search for qualified candidates to employ in their establishments.  The best career options provided will also help the aspirants who intend to become self employed as well.

Minister for Labour and Employment, Shri Rohan Khaunte under whose guidance this initiative has been executed, said that through this initiative the Government intends to bring talent closer to opportunities. He said that this is a Digital Enablement of Employment Exchange which provides the facility of online employment registration without any manual efforts thus making the process transparent.

Shri Khaunte further speaking informed that, the employer as well as employee will be registered at one place which will make it easy to get information of both.   

 Earlier, Shri Jayant Tari, Labour Commissioner welcomed the guests.

CM HOLDS MEETING WITH PWD OFFICIALS TO DISCUSS ROAD CONDITIONS

Panaji, July 06, 2018 … Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Parrikar recently held a meeting with PWD Minister, Shri Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar and the Principal Chief Engineer, Chief Engineer, Executive Engineers of PWD to discuss the action plan for removal of potholes and other hindrances.

During the course of the meeting, all Executive Engineers were instructed to make visits in their designated areas to check the state of roads for subsidence, potholes, breaks in wearing course, fallen trees etc and submit a weekly report to the Principal Chief Engineer.

Directions were given to keep hot/cold mix of roads on standby and depending on the climatic condition – to undertake repair work at the first dry spell.

 Executive Engineers were told to use their powers to take remedial action and ensure quality. It was informed that at the monthly common committee meetings with the Collector, cases related to digging of roads were to be discussed and streamlined with the necessary NOC.

The Chief Minister also stressed upon the need to improve inter-departmental coordination.

 

NOTEBOOKS FOR STUDENTS STUDYING IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Panaji, July 6, 2018 ..  Directorate of Education is supplying set of 4 notebooks, 2 each of 100 pages and 2 each of 200 pages per student enrolled in Std II, III and IV in Government Primary Schools and Government Aided Primary Schools in the entire state of Goa.

The notebooks are procured through The Goa Co-operative Marketing and Supply Federation, Panaji. All together 56,000 students will be supplied notebooks for the academic year 2018-19.

The distribution of notebooks has already commenced through respective A.D.E.I. Offices in Bardez and Bicholim Taluka and remaining 10 Talukas will be completed by July 7, 2018.

69TH VANAMAHOTSAVA CELEBRATIONS ACROSS GOA

Panaji, July 5, 2018 …  To mark 69th Vanamahotsava – 2018 tree planting was done at Gomantak Vidyalaya, Usgao on July 3, 2018. Shri Deepak Prabhu Pauskar, MLA, Sanvordem was the Chief Guest of the function organized by the Social Forestry, Parks and Garden Division of Forest Department, to create awareness among the general public especially school and college students about the importance of trees.

The programme included ceremonial planting of saplings in school campus, dance by students of Gomantak Vidyalaya and address by dignitaries to students regarding Vanamahotsav – 2018.

The officers of the Forest Department alongwith newly recruited 157 trainee Forest Guards planted saplings at the Forest Training School in Valpoi.

 Medicinal Plant Board of Goa and Reasearch and Utilisation Division of the Forest Department has organized selling of medicinal plants and trees through a Mobile Van at concessional rates. This van will be stationed between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. on different dates at the KTC bus stands of Ponda, Margao, Panaji, Vasco, Mapusa, Canacona and Bicholim etc from July 3 to 20, 2018. GOVERNOR INAUGURATES 3WEEKS REFRESHER COURSE IN HINDI

Panaji: July 04, 2018 ..  The Governor of Goa Dr. ( Smt.) Mridula Sinha inaugurated 3 Week Refresher  Course in  Hindi  organized by UGC Human Resource Development  Centre Goa University, at Taleigao Plateau recently.

The Academic staff of the University conducts refresher courses in various subjects. In these courses it is strived to upgrade and update the knowledge of teachers in their respective subjects  of  their specialization. The contents of the courses  are  objectively selected to enlighten teachers about the contemporary developments in their subjects and also to provide an understanding about the emerging areas of research. During the refresher courses, the teachers will  also discuss the syllabi and suggest to the stipulated changes to make them more relevant to Hindi language in   present environment.

 Dr. Sinha while addressing the gathering said that the Hindi language is being studied in 55 countries of the world this is how it is spread all over the world.  Hindi is a rich language with vast literature. The fate of Hindi language should be concern for all of us in overgrowing influence of English in our country.

Dr. Sinha further said that, Hindi language has acquired various form with its spread in different parts of our country. Hindi has been recognized as our national tongue so we all have to work for its progress and prosperity she added.

Vice –Chancellor GU, Prof. Varun Sahni welcomed the guests. HRD head Prof. I.K.Pai compered the function while Registrar Goa University Prof. Y.V. Reddy proposed the vote of thanks.  

RESULTS OF JUNE 2018 SSC EXAMINATION ON JULY 3

 Panaji, July03, 2018 …. The Results of June 2018 SSC Examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will be declared and hosted on Goa Board Website : www.gbshse.org today, after 5.00 p.m. The distribution of Passing Certificates cum Statement of Grades / Marks of SSC Examination will be done on July 4, 2018 from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Board’s office.

          The Heads of institution shall send their representative with Authority letter for the collection of the same and must refrain sending candidates or parents for the purpose to the office of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. The private candidates shall collect their passing certificate cum statement of Grade / Marks from Board’s office, Alto Betim, Bardez Goa, on producing hall ticket.
