DIGGING OF THE ROADS PROHIBITED IN SOUTH GOA

Panaji, September 18, 2018 …. District Magistrate, South has prohibited any person/agency/organization from digging any road or a part thereof without the written permission in the territorial jurisdiction of South Goa District. Further, the concerned persons/agencies involved in currently dug up roads or parts thereof, are also ordered to restore them to normal condition with immediate effect.

Panaji, September 17, 2018 … The Directorate of Museums will organize a workshop on Quilt (Godhadi) making on September 29, 2018 from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda. The ladies interested in attending this workshop are requested to enroll their names on or before September 24, 2018.

WEEKLY REVIEW OF PRICES AND SUPPLY OF IMPORTANT ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

Panaji, September 15, 2018 … The statement of market price of important essential commodities in Panaji, Panaji centre  has intimated by the Registrar of Co-perative societies for the week ending August 14, 2018 is as follows.

In wholesale, the prices of moong decreased by Rs. 200/- to Rs. 400/- per quintal, coconut oil by Rs. 20/- per can of 5 kgs and eggs large by Rs. 50/- to Rs. 60/- per 100 nos. Wheat Khandva, rawa, green peas and chillies green increased by Rs. 35/- to Rs. 65/-, Rs. 20/- to Rs. 50/-, Rs. 200/- to Rs. 300/- and Rs. 1000/- to Rs. 2000/- per quintal respectively during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice outside, raw rice common, wheat Shivri, turdal Barshi, moongdal, gramdal, gram Kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil vegetable ghee “ Ruchi”, maida, potatoes, onions, tomatoes and banana (Vassai) remained steady during the week.

In retail, the prices of moong decreased by Rs. 10/- per kilo and eggs large by Rs. 6/- per dozen. Chillies green increased by Rs. 10/- to Rs. 20/- per kilo during the week.

The prices of other important essential commodities like parboiled rice local, parboiled rice outside, raw rice common, wheat Khandva, wheat Shivri, jowar Shalu, turdal Barshi, moongal, gramdal, gram Kabuli big, sugar S-30, gur fine, sunflower oil, coconut oil, vegetable ghee “Dalda”, rawa, maida, green peas, potatoes, onions, tomatoes and bananas (Vassai) remained steady during the week.

The decreased and increased in wholesale and retail prices were due to decrease and increase in wholesale prices in supplying markets.

The supply position of important essential commodities were normal during the week, except that of parboiled rice local and jowar Shalu the arrival of which was not noticed during the week.

INSTALLATION OF CONCAVE MIRROR

Panaji, September 15, 2018 … The District Magistrate, North Goa District hereby ordered the erection/installation of Concave Mirror in front of the Caculo Paradise complex gate within the jurisdiction of Corporation of the City Panaji in Tiswadi Taluka and has also authorised the erection of cautionary traffic sign boards such as Sharp Turn, Go Slow/Drive Slow and Accident Prone Zone in order to regulate the motor vehicular traffic.  

 

PASSING OUT PARADE OF SIGNALMEN HELD

Panaji::: September15, 2018 … 2 signal Training Center located at Goa is responsible for the conduct of training for the Corps of Signals troops. Taking on this prestigious job 2 Signal Training Centre molds and transforms young boys who join the centre from different part of country as recruits, to a Indian Army soldier (Signalmen). Continuing with the tradition 274 recruits from all regions of India passed out from 3 Military Training Regiment parade ground at Margaon on 15 Sep 2018. 
It was a proud moment for all recruits and their parents, as they successfully complete their training and are now set forth to serve the nation, ready and well trained for front-line duties.
 
These recruits underwent a rigorous & tough training of 19 weeks, which was conducted by 3 Military Training Regiment under the aegis of 2 Signal Training Centre. During the period of training they were tested for their mental and physical capabilities. 
 
Brig AK Sharma, Comdt, 2 Signal Training Centre reviewed the parade. Recruit Rohan Lakkhe was awarded the best recruit medal for his outstanding performance during the training and for standing first in over all merit.
 
The reviewing officer then addressed the crowd and specially congratulated all budding signalmen and their proud parents on successful completion of physical training. He welcomed all recruits to the folds of the Corps of Signals. In his address he told the recruits about the future challenges they are going to face and pumped them up with the josh and jasba to overcome these challenges. He also told about the fact that they are joining the best Army in the would, which is know for its traditions and has proved its mettle whenever and wherever required. 

PANAJI ITI’S INDUCTION PROGRAM HELD

Panaji ::: September 14, 2018 …. The faculty of Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Altinho Panaji conducted Induction program for its newly admitted students recently.

Union Minister for AYUSH (Independent Charge-IC) Shri. Shripad Naik was the Chief Guest while Chairman of Institute Management Committee (IMC), Panaji ITI Shri. Gaurish Dhond were the Guest of honor. Shri. Aleixo F. da Costa, Director of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri. Savio Pascal Fernandes and Smt. Charlotte Srivastava- IMC members were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister urged the students to make the best use of their trade and focus on self-employment. “The Skill India program by the Central Government aims in helping the youth to stand on his/her own. ITI trades are a stepping stone towards a bright future. If one has a passion for the trade, he/she can achieve laurels in their career,” the Minister said.

Earlier, the program began with lighting the traditional lamp. Principal Shri. Sandeep Naik gave the welcome address. Shri. Aleixo Costa and Shri. Dhond spoke on the occasion. An ex-student Shri. Rajendra Tari shared his experiences with the students. Shri. Yatin Gawas administered the trainee’s pledge to the students while Smt. Caroline Araujo and Shri. Mario Monteiro read reports on training. Shri. Remedios da Silva compered the program and proposed the vote of thanks.

The function was attended by faculty members and trainees.

EDUCATIONAL SCHEME FOR THE WELFARE OF ST COMMUNITY

Panaji, September 14, 2018 … Directorate of Tribal Welfare implements various educational schemes for the Welfare of Scheduled Tribes Community in the State of Goa. The applications are to be submitted in the Tribal Welfare Department through respective educational institutions.

The Schemes and income limit to avail the benefits are as follows  Schemes of Post Matric Scholarship to the Students belonging to Scheduled Tribes for Studies in India Income limit is 2.50 lakhs, Financial Assistance to ST Students under ‘Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana’  

 Income limit is 3.00 lakhs, Merit based Award and recognition of high performance in the Board Exams of SSC and HSSC in the State of Goa Income limit is 5.00 lakhs, Schemes of Scholarship to ST Students pursuing Home Nursing Courses Income limit is 6.00 lakhs, Scheme to provide assistance in education to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes children (Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme classes V to Xth) Income limit is 3.00 lakhs, Centrally Sponsored Scheme of  Pre-Matric Scholarship  for ST student belonging to ST studying in class IX and Xth Income limit is 2.00 lakhs and Vidya Laxmi Income limit is 3.00 lakhs.

 The last date of submission of application of scheme in the Directorate of Tribal Welfare is September 30, 2018   

APPLICATIONS INVITED FROM EMINENT ADVOCATES FOR EMPANELMENT

Margao:  September 13, 2018 … The District Magistrate and Collector, South Goa District has invited applications from eminent advocates for empanelment in the South Goa District Panel for conducting cases in Special Courts.  The applications should reach within two weeks.

The empanelment is sought in category Category ‘A’ comprising of advocates having practice for 10 years and above, fees for which would at the rate of Rs. 5000/- per hearing provided maximum amount per case shall not be more than Rs. 1.00 lakh and Category ‘B’ comprising of advocates with experience of 7 to 10 years, preferably with experience in criminal matters, with fees of Rs. 3000/- per hearing provided maximum amount per case shall not be more than Rs. 75,000/-

The criteria for empanelment being – an expert in the legal field with experience in dealing with the criminal matters preferably with a successful track record in the criminal matters related to the atrocities against SC’s/ST’s and conversant with the social and cultural background of the SCs/STs communities in the State of Goa with good standing and repute in the society

It may be informed that the Committee constituted for empanelment of eminent senior advocates under the Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes(Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 during its last meeting had decided to prepare a panel of such eminent senior advocates who have been in practice for not less than seven years, as deemed necessary for conducting cases in special courts.
