CM EXTENDS DIWALI GREETINGS

Panaji:  November 5, 2018 … The Chief Minister Shri. Manohar Parrikar greeted the people of Goa on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Shri Parrikar said that Diwali is a festival that illuminates people’s minds and hearts with the spirit of oneness and joy. The Chief Minister further prayed that the festival of lights fills homes of the people with happiness, peace and prosperity.

TOURISM MINISTER LAID FOUNDATION STONE FOR VARIOUS DEVELOPMENTAL WORK AT PERNEM

Panaji:  November 5, 2018 … Minister for Tourism Shri Manohar Alias Babu Azgaonkar inaugurated hot-mixing of roads in Pernem Constituency on November 3, 2018. The roads from Jamblikade at Pethechawada Korgao and Road at Bailpar, Casarwane at Caswarne junction will be hot mixed.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Ajgaonkar said development work in every corner of Pernem constituency is going in full swing and it will continue in future also. Various upcoming project like International stadium ,Mopa airport ,Ravindra Bhavan, Ayush centre will help to solve unemployment problem to a extend. The Minister said that with Mopa airport at Pernem, tourist from all over the world will come to Pernem first and then will visit rest of the places in the state.

Shri Ajgaonkar also laid foundation stone for construction of protection wall at Deulwada to Harijanwada at Korgao, construction of footpath at Mainawada,beautification of temple Soyambu Gadeshwar Devasthan Amere Varkhand  .

ORCHID FOUNDATION CONFERS ORCHID AWARDS 2018

Panaji : November 05,2018 … The NRB Groups Orchid Foundation conferred Orchid Awards 2018 on women achievers of Goa at a function held in Community Center hall Mala in the city yesterday. The Orchid Foundation constituted “Orchid Awards’’ in fond memory of late Smt. Manda Tai Bandekar and   every year confers  on  women who have achieved  success  in their respective field.

Dr. Sinha who was the chief guest for the function,  while addressing the gathering said that girls are special and  are excelling in every field of human endeavor, They ride on air, water and land like that of boys.  In our country she said women rose to high positions due to their talent and hard work . Women are confident and are doing extremely well in every field. Therefore she said such kindof functions are like celebration of womanhood. She appreciated Orchid Foundation for being recognizing  achievements of women. She also congratulated the recipients of the Awards on the occasion.

Minister for PWD Shri Ramkrishna (Sudin ) Dhavalikar in his address lauded the endeavor  of Orchid Foundation for being recognizing the success and achievements  of Goan Women. He said there is no limit for the endeavor of women, Women with their hard work excel in various sectors and does not lack behind in competence. The initiative of Orchid Foundation will definitely inspire other women for achieving success in their life he added.

The women achievers who received Orchid Award 2018 for their achievements were, Smt. Ashwini Tarcar in the category of business, Smt. Sabina Martins, in the category of Rural Empowerment, Smt. Amita Salatri in the category of Art & Culture, Smt. Sharada Naik  in Education, Smt. Shoma Patnaik in Journalism, Ms. Maymol Rocky in Sports, Miss Pearl Colvalkar in Girl Child Prodigy, while Smt. Josephine in Social Work category etc. The Governor Dr. Sinha  and Minister Shri Dhavalikar presented awards to the recipients.

WOMEN IS EMBODIMENT OF PATIENCE -SHRI KHAUNTE.

Panaji : November 04,2018 … Minister for Labour & Employment Shri Rohan Khaunte said that the Government has implemented various schemes and policies for the empowerment women in the state.  and further mention that proper education and skill development will help women  to create self confidence.

Shri Khaunte was speaking after launching skill development programme for the families of Industrial workers at a function organized by the Office of the Commissioner of Labour & Employment in association with Shubh Self Help Group Porvorim and Salvador Do Mundo village  Panchayat at Salvador Do Mundo Village Panchayat today.

Shri Khaunte further speaking said that women is embodiment of patience and plays vital role in family. Under skill development initiative, women self help groups would be provided training in different streams to enable them to adopt self employment of their own choice. The Government under skill development scheme he said has a vision to make women earn their own livelihood to become self reliant. Therefore he  appeal to women folk to avail the benefit of the schemes to become self reliant to live dignified life. .

Membe of Zilla Panchayat  PDF shri Gupesh Naik in his address  appreciated the Government for having taken various developmental projects in Porvorim Constituency. He said under skill development initiative of the Government it has been decided to impart training to members of Women Self Help Group so as to make them   self employed and through which can earn their livelihood. He also said training provided in different skills would help them to choose their own business.  So he appealed to women folk to avail the benefit of the scheme meant for them.

PM LAUNCHES “MSME” PROGRAMME

Panaji: – November 04, 2018 …The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, launched the Union Government’s Support and Outreach Initiative for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the presence of Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Shri Arun Jaitley and the Union Minister of State (I/C) for MSME, Shri Giriraj Singh at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi today which was telecasted across India through live streamed. In Goa the function was organized by the Directorate of Trade and Commerce (DITC) along with MSME-DI and SBI at NIO Dona Paula.

The Union Government has accorded high priority to the MSME sector in recent years. This outreach and support programme, will run for the next 100 days, covering the entire country, and is expected to provide even greater synergy to the efforts being made for this sector. This programme, has been implemented in mission mode and will be monitored on a continuous basis by senior officials of Union and State Governments.

On the occasion, Prime Minister had announced various Measures to help MSME Businesses such as faster access to credit, improved cash flows, More access to Markets, Simple regulatory compliance, Social security for employees and benefits from GST enrollment etc.

Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Government of India, Shri Shripad Naik, Jt. Secretary Ministry of Drinking water and Sanitation and Prabhari Adikari, Shri Arun Baroka, Secretary DITC, Shri Sudhir Mahajan IAS, General Manager State Bank of India, Shri sanjay Kumar, General Manager Union Bank of India, Shri H.C Mittal, and Manguesh Pai Raikar were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion the Ayush Minister said that the Government had taken several initiatives including customization of   products and strategies as per their needs and automated loan processing have been introduced to achieve faster turn around and accelerate MSME’s growth, easy availability of credit will also foster India’s entrepreneurial spirit he added.This initiative will set a new benchmark in loan delivery mechanism by reducing the turnaround time from 20-25 days to just 59 minutes he reiterated

HEALTH MINISTER INSPECTS SUPER SPECIALITY BLOCK AT BAMBOLIM.

Panaji: November 04, 2018 … Minister for Health Shri Vishwajit Rane inspected Super Speciality Block Goa medical College build under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana at Bambolim today.

After inspecting the site, Shri Rane praised the work and progress executed by HSCC (India Limited), a Government of India Enterprise and said that this will be one of the best modern hospitals in Goa which he said will provide treatment to patients needing super speciality healthcare. Hence we are doing time to time monitoring of the same. Shri Rane further said that Similarly he had discussion with Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar and file has been moved that the construction of work of cancer block centre will be also given to HSCC (India), as they have vast experience of building such cancer centre .Shri Rane also stated that efforts are been made by Government to built mother and child Block in the same premises.

Shri Rane also informed that nomination basis for providing Health infrastructure will be built through HSCC and government have also given principle approval to Candolim hospital and is already handed over to HSCC he added.

WEEKLY REVIEW OF PRICES AND SUPPLY OF IMPORTANT ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

Panaji: November 03, 2018 … The statement of market price has intimated by the Registrar of Co-operatative Societies of important essential commodities in Panaji, Margao, Mapusa and Vasco for the week ending October 26, 2018.

The prices of parboiled rice local, parboiled rice outside, raw rice super fine, raw rice fine, raw rice common and gur fine remained steady in all the markets during the week.  Sugar S-30 at Mapusa and Vasco decreased by Rs.2/- per kilo respectively, but was steady in other market.  

The prices of turdal barshi, moongdal, uraddal, gramdal, moong, gram kabuli big and peasdry remained steady in all the markets during the week. Masoordal at Panaji decreased by Rs.5/- to Rs.10/- per kilo, but was steady in other markets.

The prices of sunflower oil, coconut oil and Vanaspati ghee Daldar remained steady in all the market during the week.

 Prices of potatoes, cabbage and chillies green remained steady in all the markets during the week under review.  Onions at Panaji increased by Rs.5/- per kilo, but was steady in other markets. Tomatoes at Margao, Mapusa and Vasco increased by Rs.5/- per kilo, but was steady in Panaji markets. Beans at  Margao increased by Rs.20/- per kilo, but was steady in other markets. 

The prices of coconuts of 100 bharti, 120 bharti, 150 bharti and 180 bharti remained steady in all markets during the week under review.

GEC COLLEGE BAGS FIRST PLACE AT VIGILANCE WEEK CELEBRATIONS

Panaji, November 03, 2018 … Goa College of Engineering (GEC) bagged the first place at the All Goa Quiz inter-collegiate competition organized as part of the Vigilance Week celebration which concluded today. Nirmala Institute, Altinho came in second place while Goa Medical College came third. The consolation prize was given to Vidya Prabodhini.

Additional Secretary (Home), Shri Narayan Sawant, Additional Secretary (GA), Shri Amarsen Rane, Director (Vigilance), Shri. Sanjeev C. Gauns Dessai and Additional Secretary (Personnel), Shri. Yetindra Maralkar were present at the valedictory function marking the conclusion of the Vigilance Week celebrations. SHRI GARG INAUGURATES REGISTRATION DAY
