AYURVEDIC MEDICINES EFFECTIVE ON VARIOUS DISEASES DY. SPEAKER

Panaji, March 7, 2019 ::: India has rich tradition and legacy of Ayurveda since many years. The Munis and Rishies during that  time have discovered many medicines out  of herbs and various plants which are effective on various  diseases  said by the Deputy Speaker, Goa Legislative Assembly Shri Michael Lobo at a concluding function of five days free mega Ayurvedic Neuro Therapy Medical Camp  held at Simwada Arpora Bardez recently.

The camp was organized by the Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy- Ministry of AYUSH in association with  Matrubhumi Pratishthan-Goa, Directorate of Health Services-Goa, Goa Tourism Development Corporation , Goa Horticultural Corporation, Kadamba Transport Corporation, Sandu Pharmaceuticals, Kudos Aqua, etc.

Shri Lobo further speaking said that Ayurvedic medicines have no side effects and therefore Ayurvedic medicines are conducive for health. He also stressed upon the need of greater publicity of Ayurved among the society. Taking into consideration the importance of Ayurveda he assured to suggest the Government for making financial provision in budget during  next assembly session. He appreciated the organizers for their endeavour in organizing such a mega medical camp.

Minister for Water Resources  Shri  Vinod Palyenkar  while speaking at the function  expressed his satisfaction over the success of five days mega camp due to  which many people have benefited .He urged the organizers to organize more and more camps to extend ayurvedic medical services to the people.  He also complemented AYUSH Minister for caring about the health of the people in Goa.

HEALTH MINISTER LAYS FOUNDATION STONE OF TERTIARY CANCER AND DAY CARE CENTRE

Panaji: March 06, 2019 … “The Tertiary Cancer Centre (TCC) and Day Care Centre for Mentally ill people is a long cherished dream of Chief Minister Shri. Parrikar. Many people visit the neighboring states for Cancer treatments, PET Scan etc. which will be made available for free at this center. This TCC will be run under the expert technical guidance of doctors from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.

Types of equipment worth Rs. 70 crore and more will be bought making Goa the only state to give free Cancer treatment,” informed Minister for Health Shri. Vishwajit Rane while speaking at the function to lay the foundation stone of Tertiary Cancer Centre (TCC), Day Care Centre and an awareness program on ‘Swawlambhan’ scheme at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Bambolim today. The function was jointly organised by Directorate of Health Services (DHS) and Directorate of Women and Child Development (DWC).

“The Government has already launched Pre Breast Cancer screenings program at the village level in association with Yuvraj Singh Foundation. The Anganwadi teachers and workers contribute immensely in popularizing such programs and schemes. The ‘swawlamban’ scheme is launched by the WCD to make women self-reliant. The Government will consider all the demands made by the Anganwadi workers. Their remuneration will be also increased by 50% in addition to 50% increase by the Central Ministry. 100 Anganwadis will be undertaken for renovation and a new e-learning module will be developed. Teachers will be duly trained in this module,” the Minister said.

Later, he also launched 10 ambulances equipped with the advanced life-saving system. He informed that a seven-year contract is signed with ‘Sodexo’,  which will provide premium nutritious food to GMC patients, their families as well as the staff and students.

Earlier the function began by lighting the traditional lamp. The dignitaries laid the foundation stone the TCC and Daycare Centre by unveiling the plaque. Dr. Sanjeev Dalvi welcomed the gathering. Dr. Anuapama Borcar briefed about Cancer disease, precaution and cure. Shri. Deepak Dessai enlightened the crowd by presenting a power point presentation on ‘Swavlamban’ scheme. Adv. Savaikar, Shri. Silveira, Shri. Fernandes and Shri. Kunkoliekar also spoke on the occasion.

The program was attended by Anganwadi workers in large numbers. Dr. Mulgaonkar compered the function.

The 110 bedded tertiary cancer centre will be housed in the GMC complex. Facilities like radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, diagnostic, brachytherapy, pain management, daycare, OPD, transfusion medicine, palliative care, laboratories, OT complex, ICU and wards will be made available. The project is commissioned at the cost of Rs. 120 cr.

The proposed day care centre is a non-residential facility for mentally challenged ill patients which will be equipped with 10 vocational activity rooms, each with a capacity of 40 people, a Yoga room, recreational room and multiple activity rooms, computer lab, library and consultants cabin.

FISHERIES MINISTER INAUGURATES MOBILE FISH STALLS

Panaji, March 05, 2019 :::“Our priority is to give the people of Goa good fish at affordable rates,” said the Minister for Fisheries, Shri Vinod Paliencar. He was speaking after inaugurating four Mobile Fish Stalls at a function held at the Fisheries Jetty in the city, recently.

The vehicles have been purchased under the Central sector scheme on Blue Revolution. The total cost of the vehicles is Rs 47, 26, 800 out of which Rs 20 lakhs is funded by the Central Government and balance Rs 27,26,800 by the State Government.

The Director of Fisheries, Shri Vinesh Arlenkar, said that the Department had earlier got a good response after purchase of similar such mobile fish stalls. “We will give preference to self-help groups and to those associated with fishing related activities, to run these vehicles,” he added.

RENEWAL OF EXCISE LICENSES

Panaji, March 04, 2019 :: Office of the Commissioner of Excise has informed that the renewal process of the existing Excise Licenses for the financial year 2019-20 is scheduled to begin soon, therefore, the licenses are requested to contact the concerned Excise Inspectors for the formalities.

          Excise Department has over the year through Goa Excise Management System (GEMS) has been gradually digitalizing all the services offered by it by introducing various modules. For better data management and processing of various requests of  the licensees and to provide faster online services to the licensees, it is required to link multiple licences of Excise Department held by a single licensee and therefore the Department has taken the decision to obtain details of PAN (Permanent Account Number) along with a self attested copy of all the licensees at the time of submission of Forms for renewal of the existing licences.

          It is therefore requested to provide the details to the concerned Excise Station before March 31, 2019 to avoid any inconvenience.

STRONG WOMEN CREATE STRONG COMMUNITY: GODINHO

It’s a high time that women must come together and work towards self-development,” said Minister for Panchayat Shri. Mauvin Godinho while speaking as a Chief Guest at the 11th Sports Cultural and Beauty Pageant function organised by Dabolim Mahila Group in Ravindra Bhavan, Baina recently.

Smt. Simran Sheriff from Dabolim emerged as the Winner of the Beauty Contest while Smt. Vaibhavi Nagvekar of Vaddem and Smt. Yogita M. Deshpande of New Vaddem won the 2nd and 3rd places respectively. Advt. Anita Thorat, Social Worker Smt. Sadhana Mukund Naik, Bogmalo Sarpanch Shri. Laxman Kavlekar, Dabolim Sarpanch Virginia D’souza, Shri. Sada Shetkar were present on the occasion.

The Minister lauded the efforts taken by the organizers and said that maximum women must participate in such events as to know and enhance their skills. “It was indeed a pleasure to see women participating in games and sports activities very actively. Many of them lost the game but did not lose their enthusiasm and spirit. Nothing is impossible if we keep working with such a positive spirit and attitude,” the Minister added.

The function earlier began by lighting the traditional lamp. Smt. Thorat gave the welcome address. The formal function was followed by Dance competitions and Beauty Pageant.

SHRI. RANE LAUNCHES PMKVY SCHEME AT PANAJI

Panaji, February 02, 2019 :: Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) Scheme was launched today by Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Vishwajit Rane, in the presence of Secretary Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri C. R. Garg, IAS, Director  Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri. Deepak Desai, in a function held at Institute Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji. This scheme is made to Goan youth more Skilful and to reach the requirements of the various Industries,

Speaking on the occasion Shri. Vishwajeet Rane appealed aspiring youth to take up courses made available under PMKVY through which better jobs can be availed from different industry sectors. He also made a point that, considering the forthcoming Mopa Airport Project special efforts shall be made to start aviation related courses as per requirements of Mopa Airport by which Goan youth would be able to hatch larger number of employments that will be generated at Mopa.

Many students who opt for ITI courses lose their interest in the trade in which they are trained as there are few placements or employment opportunities Manpower having expertise in traditional trades are not meeting requirements of modern industries .

To overcome these lacunas courses at Industrial Training Institutes need to be redesign and upgraded to meet the requirement of modern industries. The Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will initiate positive steps towards upgrading infrastructure of ITIs, Minister further added.

Shri C. R. Garg, IAS, said that many people in spite of having good education, are not employable, as they are not fitting with requirement of industries. PMKVY will not only take care of need of various industries for but this skill development program will become great assets for this country,  he opined.

Capt. Kaustav Nath, State Engagement Officer for Goa and Karnataka made detailed presentation on PMKVY scheme.

The PMKVY is a fully funded flagship Skill Development programme of Government of India with a vision of a “Skilled India”, to skill India on a large scale.

Ten Government ITIs in the State will start the process of imparting training to aspiring youth from tomorrow onwards and one private agency Emerge Vocational Skill Private Limited will be imparting training.

The objective of this Scheme is to enable a large number of youth to take up industry-relevant skill training for securing a better livelihood. The Short Term Training courses will benefit candidates who are either school/college dropouts or unemployed. Trainees shall also be imparted training in Soft Skills, Entrepreneurship, Financial and Digital Literacy. Duration of the training varies per job role, ranging between 150 and 300 hours.

ADMISSIONS TO 50% STATE QUOTA POST GRADUATE DEGREE AND DIPLOMA AT GMC

Panaji, 1st March, 2019 …Goa Medical College has informed that applications are invited from eligible candidates who have obtained their Permanent Registration with Medical Council of India / State Medical Council and have appeared for NEET-PG 2019 for admissions to 50% State Quota Post Graduate Degree and Diploma seats (in case not converted to Degree seats by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi) of Goa University at Goa Medical College for the academic year 2019-20. Admissions shall be on the basis of Rules and Regulations notified by the Government. Series I No.51 dated  March 21, 2005 along with  Series I No.50 dated  March 11, 2004,  Series I No. 32 dated November 10, 2016 and Gazette of India No. 51 dated February 5, 2019  and by Bond implementation will be as per Government Gazette series I No.36 dated December 8, 2015 which is also likely to be revised.

It is further stated that the permitted PG Degree seats that are offered from academic year 2010, 2015, 2017 and 2018  are as per the directives of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

5% of PG Seats are allocated to Persons with Disability (PwD) Candidates fulfilling the MCI criteria.

Last date for joining the allotted course after 1st round April 12, 2019. Second round of Counseling-Cum-Admission April 25, 2019. ADDITIONAL 10 MLD WATER SUPPLY TO PONDA AND MARCAI: SHRI SUDIN DHAVLIKAR

Panaji, February 28, 2019 …Additional 10 MLD water will be supplied to Ponda and Marcai areas to augment water supply through Opa Dam in next 15 days disclosed Minister for PWD Shri Sudin Dhavlikar after inaugurating the Vehicular Underpass at Kapileshwari junction and commissioning of road on Kashimath and Kapileshwari underpass on NH-17B (No.566) in Goa (Dhavli Bypass) at a function held at Kapileshwari, Ponda recently.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament for South Goa, Shri Narendra Sawaikar, MP Rajya Sabha,  Shri Vinay Tendulkar, Smt. Chitra Phadte, ZP Member, Shri Rajesh Kavlekar, Sarpanch Kavalem, Shri Pradeep Naik, Chairperson Ponda Municipal Council, Smt. Saloni Gaude, Dy. Sarpanch Bandora among other dignitaries.

          Stating that the pace of developmental works in the state including at Ponda has been accelerated be it of construction of roads, augmentation of water supply, sewerage project and construction of bridges Shri Dhavlikar said in order to complete these works at stipulated time period the Co-operation of elected representatives of local self government bodies is of utmost importance.

          Shri Dhavlikar said all the roads in the jurisdiction of Ponda city will be provided with hotmix carpet within two months time after commencement of work in last week of April. He said, the tendering process for hot mix carpeting of all roads in Ponda has already been started.

            Shri Dhavlikar listed the various ongoing projects being executed under PWD in the state and added further saying that most of the projects will be completed by June 2019.  He also informed that the refurbishment and beautification of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Fort at Farmagudi will be taken up to make it of touristic importance. The work of first phase will commence by June 2019 he said.

GOA NURSING COUNCIL ELECTION ON APRIL 15

Panaji, February 27, 2019 ….Goa Nursing Council will be conducting election of members to the council on April 15, 2019.

 An election will be held of members of the Goa Nursing Council to be elected by various categories of registered nursing personnel namely, principals of colleges conferring degree in nursing, faculty conferring degree in nursing, faculty conferring diploma in auxiliary nursing midwifery, members of the Trained Nurses Association of India (Goa Branch), Registered nurses, has been prepared in accordance with the Goa Nursing Council Rules, 2014 and copies of the roll will be available for inspection and/or sale at the office of the Council at the address of the Council.

Every claim for inclusion of name in the roll; or every objection to —, the inclusion of any other person’s name in the roll, any particulars in any entry in the roll shall be addressed to the Registrar and shall be presented to him/her at the address to below so as to reach him/her on or before March 16, 2019.

Goa nursing council has informed that nomination of registered nursing personnel eligible to fill the seat/seats are invited and forms of nomination paper may be obtained from the Registrar on application.

Complete  nomination paper may be sent  to the Returning Officer on or before 4.00 pm on March 4, 2019 at Goa Nursing Council Office Bambolim.

Candidate are can be withdrawn by a notice in writing signed by the candidate and delivered to the Returning Officer to reach him/her on or before 4.00 pm on March 14, 2019 at GNC office, Bambolim.

 Objections, if any are to reach the Returning Officer on or before 4.00 pm on March 12, 2019 at GNC office, Bambolim.

The list of contesting candidates shall be displayed on the notice board in the office of the Council at 10.00 a.m on March 16, 2019 at GNC office, Bambolim.

In the event of the election being contested: The election will be held at 8.00 am on April 15, 2019 at GNC office, Bambolim and the voters will be taken up for scrutiny and counting at 3.30 pm on April 15, 2019 at the Goa Nursing Council, Bambolim.

NORTH GOA MP COMPLETES 1000 PROJECTS MPLADS

Panaji, February 26, 2019 …  Union Minister and North Goa MP Shri Shripad Naik said that around 1000 projects have been completed during his present term as an Member of Parliament. Shri Naik was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for work of Development and Beautification of pathway and fixing of interlock pavers at Vishwasnagar, Lamgao in Bicholim taluka.

Also present at the occasion were Shri Rajesh Patnekar, MLA, Shir Rajaram Gaonkar, Chairperson of Bicholim Municipal Council, Shri Dattaguri Pal, Vice Chairperson, Shri Vivek Naik, Chief Officer, Shri Sudan Govekar, Councillor, Shri Vallabh Salkar and other graced the occasion.

Speaking further Shri Naik said, that for him was mission to take up   politics is a source for social development. He has cautiously utilized the funds allotted to him for the public development in North Goa, he added.

MLA Shri Rajesh Pantnekar and Shri Rajaram Gawas also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier foundation stone for erection of street light at Lamgao and development of open space at Housing Board Colony in Bicholim was laid down at the hands of the Union Minister.
