KA TO STAGE ONE ACT PLAY ON MARCH 18 AND 19

March 17, 2019 … The Repertory company of Kala Academy will present four one act plays on  March 18 and March 19 2019 at the Black Box of Kala Academy.

On March 18,  2019 at 6.00 p.m. an English one act play ‘Haiku’ written by Katherine Kochlin will be presented followed by ‘Javeda’ written by Navaldeep Singh. “Haiku” is directed by Kum. Prutha Parab and ‘Javeda’ by Shri. Aniket Dhale.

On March 19,  2019 at 6.00 p.m., ‘The skeleton women’ in Konkani written by Kalki Kochlin and Prashant Prakash will be presented followed by ‘Samorcha Nadkarni’ in Marathi by Vijay Tendulkar.

AWARENESS SESSION FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED VOTERS ON MARCH 20

Panaji : March 16, 2019 ..Office of the Collector and District Election Officer, North Goa has informed that an awareness session is scheduled on March 20, 2019 at Multipurpose Hall, Ground Floor, Directorate of Art and Culture, Patto, Panaji at 10.00 a.m for visually impaired voters.

Awareness session is about voting procedure and facilitation for blind and low vision electors in connection with Lok Sabha Election to be held on April 23, 2019 for North Goa Parliamentary Constituency.

The visually impaired voters,  N.G.O.’s and other stakeholders are informed to attend the training on the above mentioned date, time and venue.

ALL INDIA SEMINAR ON ‘NEW & INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN CIVIL ENGINEERING’

Margao:  March 15, 2019 ..  The Institution of Engineers [India], Goa State Centre will organize 2- days All India Seminar on ‘New & Innovative Technologies In Civil Engineering on March 15, and March 16, 2019, in the Conference Hall of Ravindra Bhavan at Margao.

The Inaugural Session will be held on March 15th, at 10.00 am where in Dr. Krupashankara M S. Principal, Goa Engineering College will be the Guest of Honour.

This Seminar will consist of 9 Technical Sessions, where renowned professionals in Civil Engineering of National and International repute will deliver their lectures/presentations.

This Seminar will help the Engineers / Consultants to update and upgrade their knowledge with new, modern and latest technology used in Civil Engineering, and reinforce their professional skills and methods, so as to Design and Manage Construction Projects more efficiently and more economically with the help of  best Technical Tools, Materials, Products, Methods, Skills and Technology, so as to face futuristic challenges of the environment and make this world a better and safer place to live in. Among them are Dr. Anil Hira, Dr. Jaideep Wagh, Dr. H.M. Raje and Dr. Satish Jain. Some of the experts who were part of the team who designed several sky scrapers in the United Arab Emirates would be sharing their expertise at this Seminar.

WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY ON MARCH 15

Panaji, March 14, 2019 … Department  of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has organized  World Consumer Rights Day on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.  at  Sanskruti Bhavan, Multipurpose Hall, Directorate of Art and Culture, Patto, Panaji.

            The theme for this year world Consumer Rights Day is “ Trusted Smart Products”. The Key note address will be made by Dr. Shabir Ali, Director Consumer Clinic, V.M. Salgaocar College of Law, followed by a Panel presentation by officials of Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration, Department of Legal Metrology, Bureau of Indian Standards and LPG Consumer Affairs.

Foundation laid for 50 bedded integrated AYUSH Hospital at Monte Hill

Panaji 12th March, 2019 ::: India’s yesteryear’s medicine system namely Ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, siddha, unani and homeopathy from thousand year ago used to keep the society healthier with no side effect, said by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH, Shri Shripad Naik.

Shri Naik was speaking after laying the foundation stone for 50 bedded integrated AYUSH Hospital at T.B. Hospital Premises, Monte hill, Margao recently in the presence of MP’s, Shri Narendra Sawaikar, Shri Vinay Tendulkar and local MLA Shri Digambar Kamat. Also present were Director of Health Services, Shri Sanjiv Dalvi; Dy.Director of Health, Dr. D’sa; GSIDC Managing Director Shri Jude, Chairperson, MMC, Dr.(Smt.) Babita Angle Prabhudesai and MMC councilors.

Speaking further Shri Naik thanked the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi for spreading yoga throughout the nation and for understanding the inner strengthens of our thousand year’s old preventive medicine system and creating separate ministry as AYUSH through which medical facilities of Ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, siddha, unani and homeopathy are provided for the welfare of people. If we adopt the AYUSH medical facilities ,which are preventive, I am sure in the coming 10 years, we will not only find healthy society but even budget of Health Department will definitely come down by 25%, he added.

Shri Naik said, through AYUSH mission, he has tried to give one hospital at District level with all facilities. Doctors are also made available through PHC, CHC. The medical facilities which are provided through AYUSH is committed to veda and is globally excepted now. We are focusing on research center for improving this medicine system, he added. Further speaking he said in India, at present, there are 30 research centers of Ayurveda and 22 research centers of homeopathy providing better medical facilities. He also informed the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Delhi provides all Medicare facilities and almost 2000 patient takes treatment.  Focus is laid to build more national institute though AYUSH which already has 8-9 in India. Projects are started in 26 States through AYUSH mission and out of 176 projects 125 are approved and 70 already completed, he pointed

Shri Naik also highighted on their upcoming projects AIIA in Dhargal, for which 2 lac sq.mts land is already sanctioned by Government and will have research center, 200 bed hospital, OPD and other facilities like Post Graduate college limiting 60 seats. He said out of 12000 wellness centers under Ayushman Bharat yojna, atleast 2-3 centeres will be opened in each taluka of Goa and will have all Medicare facilities.

Shri Narendra Sawaikar said he is happy to say that two hospitals is coming up in Goa i.e. in Pernem National Ayurveda Research center and in south 50 bedded integrated hospital. Shri Shripad Nik has given justice to AYUSH Ministry for the last 5 years. Even The International Yoga Day which celebrated globally on 21st June, in India started under the leadership of Shri Shripad Naik, he remarked.

Shri Sawaikar further said that, slowly people have started accepting Ayurveda. He also requested  Shri Shripad Naik to start the short term massage courses or related courses for the students who have studied upto 12th, so as to create more employment opportunities to the youths.

Shri Vinay Tendulkar, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha; Shri Digamber Kamat , Local MLA and Dr.(Smt.) Babita Angle Prabhudesai MMC chairperson, also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier Dr. D’sa Dy. Director Health welcomed the guest while Shri Sanjeev Dalvi, Director of Health Services proposed the vote of thanks.

Ladies Wing of Young Goans Club, Bahrain, organises Carnival event in Bahrain

Bahrain, March 11, 2019 :::The Ladies wing of the Young Goans Club in Bahrain, organised a Carnival event on 1st March 2019. The event began with a Khel Tiatr ”Tempa Pormonnem Matteare Kurponem” directed by Mr Menino Fernandes and team.

There were 5 floats  Bahraini Kids led by Alissa Noronha, Disney World Led by Eugene Gonsalves, Bab Al Goenkars by Mark Gomes, FC Goa  led by Simon Gomes and Jolly Buddies by Walter Braganza,  Each Float was quite impressive in its own way.
There was  Music, Dance and games and Goan food .
 Maria Pereira, Ladies Wing Co -ordinator , Young Goans club stated “It was a pleasure to see Goans in Bahrain uniting at our Carnival celebrations and enjoying the evening to the fullest.
Thanks to the President and Vice President of the Young Goans Club and all the co-ordinators of the Ladies Wing for their support to make this event successful.”

ADHERE TO SELF RESPECT FOR CREDIBILITY & DIGNITY: TCP MINISTER

Panaji, March 10, 2019::: Minister for Town and Country Planning and Agriculture, Shri Vijay Sardesai has highlighted the imperative need to adhere to self respect to gain credibility and live with dignity. He said this is necessary to maintain a fare image of a person while rendering services in the interest of the state and its people.

Shri Sardesai was speaking after laying foundation stone for Construction of Banastari Market Complex at Banastari in V.P. Bhoma Adcolna recently.

Present on the occasion were Minister for Panchayat, Shri Mauvin Godinho, Minister for Art and Culture and Tribal Welfare, Shri Govind Gaude, Shri Deepak Prabhu Pauskar, MLA, Chairman GSIDC, Shri Sunil Jalmi, Sarpanch, V.P Bhoma Adcolna, Shri Shailesh S. Naik Gaonkar, Dy. Sarpanch and others graced the occasion.

The Minister further said there are instances that some time people raise hue and cry for want of development in their respective areas. The greater onus therefore lies on the elected representatives to shoulder the responsibilities of achieving all-round development of their village.

TCP Minister said this goal is accomplish, then the people will not only appreciate the efforts of their representatives but will also extend their support to them as and when it is sought for. He assured the farmers about the long pending demand of construction of bundh will be taken up on priority.

Stressing on common cadre system the Panchayat Minister said that the Law Department has cleared the common cadre file and in short period it will be notified in the official gazette. Once it is notified, the Directorate of Panchayat will implement as and where it is required.

Panchayat Minister further assured the public that the work of construction of Banastari Market Complex will be completed within one year’s time period. He said, this project will have all facilities for the public in Banastari and surrounding areas.

Art and Culture Minister informed to the public that, the upcoming market complex will be constructed on high tech concept and said it will be a fully green project. He said the project will help to the local people to boost their marketing products.

Speaking further Art and Culture Minister said, he is instrumental in commencing 75% of developmental works in two years time period in his area, which he has promised to the people.

Shri Deepak Prabhu Pauskar also spoke on the occasion.

Shri Sunil Jalmi, Sarpanch welcomed the guest.

Shri Durgadas Gaude, Chairman, GSSTFDC Ltd was also present on the occasion.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 17, 79, 51,184/- and the project is entrusted to GSIDC.

SHRI PALYEKAR LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR UPGRADATION OF PUMPING STATION AT GANJEM

Panaji, March 09, 2019 …Minister for Water Resources Shri Vinod Palyekar in the presence of Minister for Health, Shri Vishwajit Rane laid the foundation stone for construction of barrage and upgradation of Raw Water Pumping Station on Mhadei River at Ganjem for Opa water works at a function held at Ganjem, Usgao recently.

Present on the occasion were Shri Dyaneshwar Naik, Zilla Panchayat Member, Ms. Asmita Gaude, Sarpanch Village Panchayat Usgao, Smt.Seema Mascarenhas, Shri William Mascarenhas, Shri Dinesh Tari, Shri Tulsidas Prabhu, Shri Gurudas Gaude, Smt. Sunanda Naik and Smt. Rekha Velingkar .

Addressing the gathering Shri Palyekar said due to rapid urbanization coupled with industrialization and growth in tourism sector the demand for drinking water is increasing. The available water discharge into the Khandepar River is unable to cater the increasing demand for drinking water. He further said that Minister for Health, Shri Vishwajit Rane has taken the right initiatives  for  construction of barrage and up gradation of raw water pumping station on Mhadei River to supply 110 MLD of raw water to Opa water works. He also said the project is being implemented under the visionary guidance of Chief Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar.

Speaking on the occasion Health Minister Shri Rane said Government is fully committed for to all round development of Goa. He said, out out of 110 MLD raw water 3 MLD will be supplied to Usgao Village for farming purpose. He said, this is the project which is a combination of 107 Mtr barrage of 7 Mtr height across Mhadai river with 110 MLD raw water pumping station to supply water to khandepar river which is also consist of mechanically operated gates with inspection bridge. He further said that  Government has sanctioned project worth Rs.100 crores, for up gradation of raw water pumping station, Rs. 35 crores beatification of Usgao and other village projects in Valpoi and surrounding areas.  He also said that efforts are being made to create employment opportunities for the youth.

 Earlier, Chief Engineer, Shri Nadkarni welcomed the gathering, Deputy Sarpanch, Shri Ramnath Dangui proposed a vote of thanks.
