AYUSH MINISTER MEETS PATIENTS FROM TATA HOSPITAL

Panaji: November 11, 2019 …. Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge), and Minister of State for Defence Shri Shripad Naik in the presence of GTDC Chairman, Shri Dayanand Sopte interacted with children from the TATA Hospital diagnosed with cancer at Paryatan Bhavan Patto recently.

Shri Naik, said that for the past eight years, children form TATA memorial hospital are coming to Goa on tour and spending two to three days thereby enjoying natural beauty of the state. He further prayed for speedy recovery from the ailment and opportunities to start new life.

Shri Sopte while interacting with the children prayed good health to the children and wished strength to overcome from such deadly disease.

RBI ASK INVESTORS TO BE CAREFUL BEFORE INVESTING

Panaji: November 10, 2019 ….RBI has alerted general public to be  aware before investing money with any un-registered entities. The RBI has advised people not to fall prey to attractive schemes like money doubling and easy loans being floated by these entities and to verify the status of the company whether it is registered with any regulator (RBI/SEBI/IRDA/NHB/MCA etc.) from the list available at the sachet portal (https://sachet.rbi.org.in).

The Sachet website is now available in 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu). A complaint can be filed against any such un-registered entity which is cheating the public in ones region.

SCHEME AWARENESS PROGRAMME HELD FOR ST COMMUNITY

Panaji: November 09, 2019 ….The Goa State Scheduled Tribes Finance Development Corporation Ltd and Goa State Aids Control Society had organized Scheme awareness programme for ST Community.

The Scheme awareness programme was inaugurated by Minister for Tribal Welfare Shri Govind Gaude recently. MLA, Shri Pandurang Madkaikar, Sarpanch Old Goa Panchayat, Smt Janita Madkaikar, Chairman Goa State Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation, Shri Durgadas Gaude. Project Director Goa State Aids Countrol Society, Smt Angelica Siona Gomes and Managing Director GSSTFDCL Shri Agnelo A.J Fernandes were present on the occasion.

A short summary on scheme of Goa State Scheduled Tribes Finace and Development Corporation Ltd. was presented by Shri Kunal Morajkar, Loan Appraiser. Also different schemes of Tribal Welfare Department were presented by Smt. Yogini Acharya, Asst. Director Tribal Welfare Resource persons, Shri Tushar Sawant, Fire and Shri Sarvesh Naik gave a talk on motivation and business ideas.

A Short Animated film on basic of HIV/AIDS and discussion on HIV/AIDS services were offered by Goa State AIDS control and Experience sharing by Network of Positive people on access to service/schemes for PLHA was shown.

The programme was compered by Shri Shablo Paryekar and the vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Nitin Sawant.

PARLIAMENT IS THE TEMPLE OF DEMOCRACY: LS SPEAKER

Panaji, November 8, 2019 … Parliament is the temple of democracy and agreements and disagreements form part of the functioning of a vibrant Parliament stated Speaker of Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla during his address to present and former MLAs during his visit to the Goa Legislative Assembly, Recently.

Shri Birla said that such discussion having diverse opinions is the identity of democracy.

Shri Birla was expressing his views on ‘Role of Parliament in the doctrine of separation of powers; enhancing transparency and accountability.’

Speaking further, he said that legislators should strive to spend more time on deliberating on topics affecting the common man and have to win the trust of the voters that have elected them.

He congratulated the State for adopting new techniques in the administration of the House especially in its attempts at going paperless.

Shri Birla also remembered the former Chief Minister and former Defence Minister, Shri Manohar Parrikar for his invaluable contribution to the progress of the state and the nation.

The address was followed by an interactive session.

Speaking of his experiences of his tenure as Speaker, Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant said that it was a huge learning experience. The respect one gets as Speaker is immense Dr Pramod said.

Deputy Speaker, Shri Isidore  Fernandes in his vote of thanks said that the session would help legislators further achieve goals of good governance. Earlier, Speaker Shri Rajesh Patnekar welcomed the gathering.

Present on the occasion were Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Chandrakant Kavlekar and Shri Manohar Ajgaonkar, Leader of the Opposition, Shri Digambar Kamat, former MLAs, and Ministers, former Speakers, among others.

Dwarka, Nashik to meet Anantpur in Final, MCA win against MCC

Panaji: Nov 07 ::: Dwarka won against a very inexperienced but highly talented team M Saini Academy Delhi by 182 runs at the DSYA Sanguem ground while Margao Cricket Academy won a consolation win against Margao Cricket Club by 63 runs in a rain affected truncated match at Agonda.

DSYA – Sanguem – Dwarka won the toss and elected to bat on a drying pitch. The openers Trunkwala (22) and Rohit Purohit (48) put on 57 runs for the first wicket and then Mustansin Kanchwala (104) sent the ball to all corners of the Sanguem field. After his dismissal the Delhi bowlers got into the act and restricted the Nashik side to 249 all out in 40.1 overs.
Off spinner Vikas Mann (4 for 44) was the pick of the bowlers while Dasksh Thakran took 3/37.

The Nashik bowling was too hot for the Delhi youngsters and the innings ended at 67in 22 overs. Aryan Mehendiratan played a patient knock of 14 while Kanchwala (2/8), Rishi Dwivedi (3/9) were the successful bowlers.

SAG – Agonda – In an all Goa inconsequential match, Margao cricket Academy got the better of Margao Cricket Club by 64 runs. In a truncated match of 30 overs the MCA scored 171 for 5 in 30 overs. Raunak Singh (33), Vivek Ughade (33), Sarthak Dube (27) and Vaishak Nair (26) were the contributors.Harsalam Khan (2/24) was the most successful bowler while Nisarg, Yash and Amey picked one wicket each.

Chasing 172 in 30 overs the MCC batsmen could muster 107 for 9 in 30 overs.
Anvit Bhobe and Aryan Prabhudesai picked 3 wickets each while Anwar Ashrafi (2/13) and Sarthak 1 wicket supported them well. Nisarg (15) and Yash (13) could enter double figures.

This Smart Savings Account App with user-friendly interface instantly opens an account in just a few minutes and users have the added advantage to choose their account number.

It is a multilingual (English/Hindi/Marathi) mobile app which provides a simple, seamless, paperless and secure way for the applicant to open a Savings Account.

Saraswat Bank 100+ application allows the opening of a new Savings Account through Aadhaar OTP authentication. The account would be opened based on applicant’s name, address, gender and Date of Birth registered with UIDAI. Only users who wish to opt-in for DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) in this account can open the account through this service. Final KYC formalities can be completed by the user by either visiting selected branch or an official can visit the user’s residence and complete the procedure through Tab banking facility.

The app is currently available on Google Play store. Any individual who is an Indian resident of age 18 years and above can open an account through this app. It allows the user to open an account anywhere using his/her mobile phone with preferred account number thus enriching user experience.

Training underway for new lifeguard recruits

Panaji, Nov 05, 2019: Drishti recently put out a call for Lifeguard captains inviting individuals interested in pursuing a career in lifeguarding. Goan graduates in any discipline with knowledge of swimming are eligible to apply. Drishti has been willing to continue the employment of a majority of the lifeguards who have stayed away from work.

Meanwhile, a team of highly skilled and dedicated lifeguards is being added to the force. Lifesaving trainings are underway for the team of 19 lifeguards and lifeguard captains. On successful completion of the course, the individuals will be inducted into the lifeguard force which mans and patrol’s the coast of Goa. 16 of the new recruits hail from parts of Goa.

The beach lifeguard training programmes are being conducted in several batches. Sessions include team building exercises, Patient Recovery, CPR & Recovery position practices, . Rescue Tube techniques & practices, Hand Signals & methods of Communication, Patrolling, Flag systems, Swim zones & Hazard regions, Surf Awareness, Tides & Currents among other sessions.

All beaches continue to be manned effectively by a team of highly skilled lifeguards, supervisors and trainers. In addition the company has deployed additional equipment and resources to augment any operational gaps. The beaches are well supervised and safe for visitors.

All visitors are advised to listen to the lifeguards and restrict their entry into the water due to the weather and alert put out by the CoP.

ALL PARTY DELEGATION MEETS SHRI PRAKASH JAVDEKAR

Panaji: November 4, 2019…..Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant who led an All Party Delegation from Goa today met Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Prakash Javdekar and discussed matter related to Mhadei.

The Delegation submitted a representation to the Union Minister Shri Javdekar in connection with Kalasa-Bhandura project. The Delegation also held talks with the Union Minister as regard to the letter issued by his Ministry to Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd. concerning Kalasa-Bhandura project.

The Minister was kind enough to assure a written communication on the aforesaid matter within 10 days. Every member expressed his views. After listening to the Delegation, Shri Javdekar assured to extend his support to protect the interest of the state & its people.

SATYA PAL MALIK SWORN IN AS GOA GOVERNOR

Panaji: November 3, 2019 ….Shri. Satya Pal Malik was sworn in as Governor of Goa today. He was administered the oath of office by the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Justice Pradeep Nandrajog at a function organised at Raj Bhavan (Tarmac), Dona Paula.

Earlier Chief Secretary Shri. Parimal Rai, IAS read out the warrant of appointment. Shri. Malik was appointed Governor of Goa by the President Shri. Ram Nath Kovind on October 25, 2019.

The Governor was later presented a Guard of Honour by the Goa Police contingent.

GOVT WITHDRAWS ATTESTATION OF NOC BEFORE SDM FOR WIDOWS

Panaji :: November 2, 2019… The Government has withdrawn the requirement of an NOC of a Widow to be signed before Deputy Collector with immediate effect

The Order to that effect has been issued by the government on October 31, 2019, whereby, all said circulars, orders and instructions have been withdrawn with immediate effect regarding transactions of land which includes sale, gift, mutation, power of attorney by Widows.

With the aforesaid order, the concerned public and stake holders who were made to obtain NOC of a Widow sworn before the Deputy Collector for sale of each flat, plot or tenement are now relieved of the same.

The issue was deliberated before Minister for Revenue, Smt. Jennifer Monserrate and Secretary(Revenue), Shri Sanjay Kumar by representatives of several institutions and concerned affected common people. The order will be a big relief to all Widows based in the State, abroad and to the people at large who were severely distressed due to the same.
