RESULT OF STATE LEVEL DEKHAVA COMPETITION 2022 DECLARED

The Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa had organized Dekhava Competition for Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandals in Goa. The contest is organized with an objective to preserve and promote age old traditions and provide a platform for the creative talents in Goa, this year total 20 Sarvajanik Ganeshostav Mandals had participated in the Dekhava Competition.

The State Level Dekhava Competition winners are: 1st prize of Rs. 25,000 – Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Madal, Casarvarnem, Pernem-Goa, 2nd prize of Rs. 20,000/- – Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Cusmane, Quepem-Goa, 3rd prize of Rs 15,000/- – Char Rasta Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandal, Canacona-Goa.

The winners of five consolation prizes of Rs. 7,000/- each are 1st Consolation – Goa Reserve Police, Altinho, Panaji-Goa, 2nd Consolation prize – Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, Korgao, Pernem-Goa, 3rd Consolation prize – Sarjavanik Saraswati Mandal, Golwada, Kumbharjua, Tiswadi-Goa, 4th Consolation prize – Shantadurga Kala Krida Sangh, Non-Mon, Vasco-Goa, 5th Consolation prize – Anjuna Police Station, Anjuna, Bardez-Goa.

Shri. Deepak Gaad, Shri. Siddharth S. Gosavi and Shri Shivaprasad Kinalekar judged the Dekhava competition.

The winners of the Dekhava Competition will be awarded certificates and cash prizes (ECS mode) at a special function to be organized by the Directorate of Art and Culture which will be informed to the winners well in advance, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.

ROAD SHOW ON GOA@60 INAUGURATED AT AHMEDEBAD

Director, Information & Publicity, Shri Dipak Bandekar inaugurated Road Show themed on Goa@60 organized by Goa Tourism Development Corporation on behalf of Department of Information and Publicity at Ahmedebad today.

The Goa@60 themed Road Shows are planned to be held in six cities. The first show is being held in Ahmadabad till September 11, 2022 and will also be held at Udaipur, Varanasi, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram and Mysore at later dates.

Deputy Director, Tourism, Shri. Kuldeep Arolkar; Deputy General Manager, GTDC Smt. Ninfa Da Silva; Manager Marketing, GTDC, Shri. Harish Satelkar; Assistant Tourist Officer, Shri. Pradeep Binnar, Information Assistant, DIP Smt. Sanghmitra Faldessai were present on the occasion. Inaugural session was followed by goan folk dances performed by goan artists.

After spectacular yearlong celebrations in Goa to mark the 60th year of its Liberation from the Portuguese rule, the Government of Goa decided a take the celebrations across the country to showcase the history and rich heritage, diverse cultures cuisine, development and achievements attained over the last six decades which has put Goa on the world map.

The initiative to celebrate Goa@60 across the country comes after the state Government successfully celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of its Liberation with events organized since 19th December 2020 in the distinguished presence of the then President of India, Shri. Ram Nath Kovind and was later followed by closing ceremony which was presided by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. The Goa government is pleased to announce its plans of organizing the 60th Liberation year celebrations across six cities which includes Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Udaipur in Rajasthan, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Madurai in Tamil Nadu, Thiruvanantapuram in Kerala and Mysuru in Karnataka from 9th September 2022 to 16th October 2022.

Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant in his statement said that “We are delighted to showcase the achievements of the Goa Government which has taken place during the last six decades since the Liberation of the State which cuts across all segments from Good Governance to Infrastructure Development, Sports, IT, Tourism, Art and Culture, Education, Health and more”.

The initiative to showcase Goa and more is to attract visitors to Goa, investors and investments that will give further impetus to infrastructure, industries, tourism, agriculture, transport, Information Technology, safety and security, improving quality of life and to make Goa further shine on the global map.

The event is also aimed to present various aspects that the State of Goa has attained progress especially in good governance through digitalization of services, taking public services to the doorsteps of the locals, improving the quality of education through good infrastructure for schools, colleges and professional colleges, industrial development and employment opportunities for locals in the State, giving thrust on employment in the hospitality segment, augmenting health and super-speciality services, increase in forest cover in Goa, protection and preservation of the State’s green cover and restoration and conservation of Goa’s heritage. The Government of Goa also highlighted its roadmap and vision plan for taking Goa to greater heights in the coming months and years by adding new infrastructure like the new International airport at Mopa, Information Technology, New Tourism Services, better transport facilities, making Goa self-sufficient through various schemes in farming, and agro sector.

Government of India, Department of Food and Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, have developed/add a new feature “MY RATION- MY RIGHT” in its portal www.nfsa.gov.in

Benefits to the Public of “MY RATION- MY RIGHT” feature are any needy/left-out citizen can register for Ration Card under NFSA. An individual can become “Ration Card Mitra” to register for Ration Card on behalf needy/left-out people, Registration is available for other than Home State also, Representatives of Panchayat, Urban Local Bodies/Municipalities, or other recognized bodies of good repute can also become the “Ration Card Mitra” on invite basis, Common registration facility is most useful for Homeless, Rag- pickers, Migrants, Special Abled, Deprived, Sr. Citizen, Domestic Helps as informed by  the Department of Information and Publicity.

Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera Felicitates Teachers From Special Education Field

Rotary Club of Panaji Rivera, had conducted a felicitation program for teachers and support staff from special school across different parts of Goa state on the occasion of teachers day celebration week, on September 08, 2022 at Club Tennis de Gasper Dias, Goa from 10.30 am-4.30pm.

Speaking on the occasion Rotarian Ryan Costa (Vocational Service Director-RC Panaji Riveira: started with the famous quote of William Butler Yeats, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”He spoke about how education is the key to success in life, and how teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students by bringing out the best in students.he further continued how the job of a special education teacher is all the more daunting and challenging as they are responsible for the educational needs of children with a wide range of disabilities. These children also require a variety of different services, modifications and accommodations in their educational experiences. Knowledge of each type of disability and the specific needs of the children with that disability are crucial to being a successful special educator.

Welcomed all on behalf of the President and members of the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera, and begin his speech saying “What most people don’t know is that most Special Education teachers are really angels disguised as extraordinary humans.” Tonight, we take pleasure in honoring five teachers & 5 support staff who have found their meaning and purpose in educating young minds who sometimes are just a little different.

“DHAROHAR” WATER COLOUR CAMP

The Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, in collaboration with the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, Rajasthan is organising a six days water colour camp “Dharohar” in Goa from September 10 to 15, 2022 at Sanksruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji, Goa. The camp is a creative thought to illustrate the heritage sites of the State by inviting various practising artists from all over India and Goa to execute the artworks during the camp.

The inaugural ceremony will be held on September 10, 2022 at 11.30 a.m. at the Multipurpose Hall, Sankrsuti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji, Goa in the presence of Smt. Kiran Soni Gupta, IAS, The Director of West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur along with the other dignitaries and all the artists from Goa and other states of India, as informed by Department of Information and Publicity.

DM ISSUES GUIDELINES FOR CYBER CAFE OPERATOR

North Goa District Magistrate has ordered for strict compliance of the following directions by the owners or operators of all Cyber Cafes in the entire North Goa District.

The owner or operator of the Cyber Cafe shall prohibit the use of Cyber Cafe by any unknown person whose identity has not been established by the owner of the cafe before allowing him to use the Cyber cafe. He/She shall maintain a register for identity of each of the visitor/user in the Cyber Cafe. He/She shall make the entry in register in the handwriting of the visitor/user mentioning time, name, residential address, telephone number and identity proof. The visitor/user shall also sign the register kept for this purpose.

The identity of the visitor/user shall be established only through any of the Government Identity Cards like Voter Card, Driving Licence, Smart Card, Passport, Aadhar card etc.

Activity server log should be preserved in the main server and its record should be preserved for atleast six months.

If any activity of the visitor appears to be suspicious nature, the owner of Cyber Cafe shall immediately inform the nearest Police Station and the Police Control Room (P.C.R.) or No. 100.

The Records shall maintained about each of the specific computer used by each visitor/user.

CCTV camera shall be installed by the owner at the enter point of each cyber cafe to cover every person entering the Cyber Cafe.

This order shall come into force w.e.f. September 8, 2022 and shall be effective for a period of 60 days that is upto November 6, 2022 (both days inclusive) unless withdrawn earlier, as informed by Department of Information and Publicity.

DM ORDERS TENANT VERIFICATION

North Goa District Magistrate ordered that all the owners of the houses, buildings, flats and other residential accommodation and the owners/management of all hotels. lodging and boardings, shacks, private guest houses, paying guest accommodation of religious bodies etc in the whole of North Goa District should verify the bonafides of the persons through their proof of identity such as Election Card, Driving License, Aadhar Card, Passport etc and should fill in the Tenant,/Visitor/Guest Verification Form in respect of their Tenants/Visitors/Guests before such persons are allowed to resides/stay in their premises and furnish the same to the local police station for further certification and record. The order is apply to the owners of such premises who have so far not furnished the verification forms in respect of their Tenants/Visitors/Guests who are already occupying their premises.

The order has come into force w.e.f September 8, 2022 and shall be effective for a period of 60 days that is upto November 6, 2022 (both days inclusive) unless withdrawn earlier, as informed by Department of Information and Publicity.

 

Queen Elizabeth II Dies at 96

The longest-serving monarch in the UK, Queen Elizabeth II  breathed her last at Balmoral at 96. After 70 years of service, her son Prince Charles will take over as King Charles III of the Commonwealth. He called the death of his mother ‘a moment of great sadness.’

Her failing health raised doubts, and her family eventually gathered at her side at her Scottish estate on Thursday. A statement released by Buckingham Palace said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.”

 His Majesty the King said: “We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”

Prime Minister Liz Truss, in her statement, said, ‘the monarch was the rock on which modern Britain was built and she had provided us with the stability and strength that we needed.’ “And with the passing of the second Elizabethan age, we usher in a new era in the magnificent history of our great country, exactly as Her Majesty would have wished, by saying the words ‘God save the King’.”

The Queen was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, in Mayfair, London, on 21 April 1926.

CM TO INTERACT WITH PRY SCHOOL TEACHERS, PARENTS & OFFICE BEARERS ON SEPT 17

Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant on thursday expressed happiness on implementation of a module called Mulyavardhan a value based education programme at primary level and added that he is impressed to see the result submitted by the Muttha Foundation, after looking the Drawing sheets of students from 453 schools from across the State – creativity of Government School Students is praiseworthy.

      Speaking at a review meeting held today in the city to discuss a two hour virtual interaction programme which is scheduled on September 17, 2022  with teachers, Parents, PTA members, Sarpanch and Panch members,       Shri. Sawant informed that the implementation of National Education Policy, merging the schools, Mulyavardhan Shikshan Concept and mid day Milk Programme  etc will be discussed through this programme.

He informed that all the primary Government and Government-aided schools will participate in this Programme. This interaction programme will help to understand the various initiatives taken by the government to boost the education sector in Goa and the parents and others will also understand the change Mulyavardhan module has brought in Goa.

      Speaking on merging the schools he made it clear that the Government is not shutting down any school.  The idea is to merge schools to provide better education; he said and urged all the teachers to start working on the implementation of new education policy in the State.

      He also informed that the education department will also launch Nipun Bharat Mission on the same day.

         The meeting was attended by the Director of Education, Shri Shailesh Zingade, ADIs and other officers and officials from Education.

GOVT IMPLEMENTS ONORC SCHEME

Government of India, Department of Food and Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, have introduced One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) Scheme for the nation-wide portability of ration cards under National Food Security Act (NFSA). Through this, all eligible ration card holders/beneficiaries covered under NFSA can access their entitlements from anywhere in the country. Accordingly, Government of Goa have also implemented ONORC Scheme in the State of Goa in 2020.

This system allows all NFSA beneficiaries, particularly migrant beneficiaries, to claim either full or part foodgrains from any Fair Price Shop (FPS) in the country through existing ration card with biometric/Aadhaar · authentication in a seamless manner. The system also allows their family members back home, if any, to claim the balance food grains on same the ration card. As on February 2022, 35 States/UTs have implemented the Scheme as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.
