SKILL TEST FOR THE POST OF JUNIOR STENO ON OCT 2

The Proficiency/Skill Test in Shorthand and Computer typing test for the post of Junior Stenographer in Directorate of Higher Education is scheduled on October 2, 2022.

Individual call letter have been sent to the candidates as per eligibility list of candidates and may be checked on the website http://dhe.goa.gov.in. In case any candidate has not received the call letter by September 27, 2022 then they may visit office of Directorate of Higher Education, IInd floor, SCERT Building, Alto-Porvorim Goa on September 28 or September 29, 2022 during office hours.

It may kindly be noted that candidates will not be allowed to answer Proficiency/Skill test without call letter. No claim will be entertained after September 29, 2022, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.

CM LAUNCHES MANDAVI – A FLAGSHIP PROGRAMME OF DHE

Asserting that today we are building a new Mandavi Bridge in the Education sector Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said in villages, students who are not able to complete direct Courses will be provided with an opportunity to pursue education and complete their courses in online mode on Mandavi Channel. Dr Sawant was speaking at a launching ceremony of “MANDAVI” (Mentoring and Nurturing Digital and Virtual Initiatives) flagship program initiated by the Directorate of Higher Education in the City.

          Speaking further he said the high quality education will be made available to everyone who is willing to learn and not for a small group of privileged students. I have set a target to make Goa as self-reliant State in every sector, be it agriculture, industries and also in education sector and such an unique initiative like MANDAVI (Mentoring and Nurturing Digital and Virtual Initiatives) I am confident that our State will achieve excellence and become the role model for other States, he added. All the youths should make best use of such an initiative to upgrade their knowledge and education, he urged.

             CM also appreciated the efforts of DHE for taking the major digital initiatives like IAIMS, DISHTAVO and MOOC to implement new education policy in Goa.

         The MANDAVI(Mentoring and Nurturing Digital and Virtual Initiatives) is an initiative of DHE for development of MOOCs to provide high quality courses to thousands and millions of learners across the globe. MOOC is a mode of learning where students can virtually attend digital higher education courses.

        The MOOC courses currently under development at DHE are based on university Grants Commission(UGC) curriculum and choice based Credit System and are proposed to be offered in credit transfer mode on the Study Webs of  Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds ( SWAYAM) platform – a programme initiated by Government of India   to offer the various courses which students can pursue online.

         The unique characteristic of this model is to carry out all MOOC development activities in collaboration mode by the faculty and other human resources from higher education institutions along with experts from industry and research institutions. The production basis training and recording of video content of the course have been done with the creative directors and experts from the film industry to produce high quality education content. Eminent scientists and practitioners from research institutions and industries have been involved at various stages of the MOOC development process.

       The Director of Higher Education and Consortium for Education Communication signed a MoU on the occasion and as part of the MoU DHE handed over two Massive Open Online Courses one in Music and the other in Analytical Chemistry to CEC.

       CM also distributed the Certificates to MOOC teams on the occasion

CM DISTRIBUTES LETTER OF ALLOTMENT TO KIOSKS VENDORS

Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant while handing out allotment letters to kiosks vendors from Bambolim at a function held at Institute Menezes Braganza today, told the beneficiaries that Government cares for them and that is why they undertook this drive to rehabilitate them.

The vendors who are being rehabilitated used to sell their products outside the Goa Medical College (GMC) for a long time. The Chief Minister said that with the new rehabilitation, there would not be chaos and obstruction to ambulance services and more space has been created now for those visiting the GMC.

Dr Sawant informed that the allotment of kiosks has been done in a fair transparent manner. The fixing of the monthly rent for the kiosks was done taking vendors into consideration, he added.

Dr Sawant further said there would be a second phase to rehabilitate the rest of the vendors and those who have not been covered in either of the phases can approach the concerned authority with required proof and if eligible there would be rehabilitated.

GOVERNOR VISITS FATORPA, CACORA, CURCHOREM AND SANVORDEM

Governor, Shri P S Sreedharan Pillai visited Saptkoteshwar and Shree Shantadurga Fatarpekarin temples at Fatorpa Quepem; Babulshaha Pir Aulia Dargah and Mahadev Temple, Kakoda; Guardian Angel Church, Curchorem and also interacted with newly elected Sarpanchas and Panch Members of Quepem Constituency at Fatorpa and Sanvordem Constituency at Sanvordem as a part of Sampurna Goa Yatra today.
Governor, Shri Pillai said Raj Bhavan will constitute expert committee to study and find out the reason and provide the solution concerning maximum dialysis patients which is noticed in Cancona and Fatorpa area. He said he will try his best to solve this problems with the help of locals and Union Government.
Raj Bhavan is a lok bhavan and all are welcomed there he said. India is improving and marching forward day by day. One day Bharat will definetly become Vishwa Guru for the peace and prosperity of the people across the world he remarked and added that India has become 4th financial and economic country in the world.
He further said, he is happy to be in the midst of people who are good at heart. Constitution says people are supreme and they are boss of the country – so any constitutional head, people’s representative, administrative official or any person who is related with Government and system is a servant of the people and they are bound to serve the people. He said, he is trying his best to interact and study the problems of the people with Sampurna Goa Yatra. Raj Bhavan will look into demands and will redress the issues in its own way, and if required, these demands will also be sent to central government for consideration. Raj Bhavan, within a year has provided financial assistance through its discretionary fund to 550 dialysis patients and 100 NGOs serving the people. Raj Bhavan is serving the people irrespective of caste, creed, politics and any other differences.  Goan villages are more beautiful then any other place in the country, he pointed.
At interaction programme held at Sharda English High School, Sanvordem Governor said, Shri Ganesh Gaonkar is a eligible and capable MLA. Supreme Court judgement on mining is a law of land. Government is in process to start mining legally. Raj Bhavan will also persue on the subject, he said.
Further, he said Goa is the richest State in the India per Capita wise. Panchas are the ground level representatives of the people who should try to understand aspirations, demands and pulse of the people and by struggling to solve the issues they should be successful representatives of the people, he added.
The aim of the Sampurna Goa Yatra is betterment and redressal of the issues of the public. Lets work together to make self reliant Goa, the Governor urged.
Shri Ganesh Gaonkar said, Governors Sampurna Goa Yatra is a great success. Its a rare occasion that Sarpnachas and panchas got a chance to interact with highest position person of the State. He urged people to take maximum benefit of the help provided by Raj Bhavan.
MLA Shri Altone Dcosta urged the Governor to use his good offices to provide primary facilities like road, drinking water and electricity to the people of the constituency.
Shri Chandrakant Kavlekar applauded the social work of the Governor.

ROADSHOW GOA@60 INAUGURATED AT VARANASI, UP

With an aim to boost Tourism activity in a big way,  showcase the monumental progress and development made by Goa across all  segments and take Goa to greater heights in all aspects of human endeavor, the planned Road Show Goa@60 got underway to a grand start at Varanasi, the holy city in Uttar Pradesh today.

          Shri.Deepak Bandekar, Director, Department, Information and publicity inaugurated the event. The inaugural Ceremony was also attended by Shri. Nikhil Desai,  IAS,Director, Department of Tourism and MD, GTDC,Shri Kirtiman Shrivastava, Information Officer of Uttar Pradesh  Tourism,Shri. Prakash S. Naik, Information Officer, DIP, Shri Laxmikant Vaigankar, General Manager,Gtdc Shri. Milind Chodankar, Assistant Tourism Officer and Shri. Pravinkumar Faldessai, Marketing Manager. GTDC.

          Speaking on the occasion, Shri Deepak Bandekar said that Goa is celebrating 60 year of its liberation from the Portuguese regime. He said as part of this commemoration, the state government had conducted various programs and activities across Goa as planned by the Government for which the Department of Information and Publicity has been designated as the nodal Department. As planned these events  themed Goa@60 are now being held in different parts of the country to showcase the spectacular progress and the big strides achieved by the state government in various sectors, he added.

          The series of planned road shows to be held in six cities of India had started from Ahmedabad, followed by Udaipur, Rajasthan and now in Varanasi.

          Through this three day event to be  held from September 23, 2022 an attempt is being made to enlighten the people about the immense contribution of freedom fighters and martyrs who came to Goa from different parts of the country to participate in the freedom struggle movement of Goa and liberate Goa from the Colonial rule. The highlight of the event is the live performances by Goan artistes to enable people especially from  Varanasi to witness and experience Goa’s rich cultural traditions, cuisine, hospitality, heritage and other areas.

          It may be noted that after spectacular celebrations in Goa, the State Government has taken initiative to take the celebrations themed Goa @ 60in other parts of the country to showcase the multifold achievements of Goa since liberation of the State, besides the tremendous growth in various spheres ranging from good governance to sports, art and culture, tourism, education, health care, attract more tourists and investors alike to accord impetus to infrastructure and many other areas to improve quality of life in Goa and to put Goa on the global map.

GOVT. TO DISTRIBUTE TITLES FOR FOREST LAND

Directorate of Tribal Welfare has informed that the title for forest land under occupation under the Forest Rights Act, 2006 will be distributed on September 24, 2022 at 11.00 a.m. onwards in Hall No. 407 of Mathany Saldanha Complex, South Goa Collectorate, Margao-Goa, at the hands of Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant to the beneficiaries of 4 taluka’s i.e. Dharbandora, Sanguem, Quepem and Canacona of the South Goa District, as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.

THE ROSARY HSS, NAVELIM TO REPRESENT STATE

Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs has informed that the Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim, Margao Subroto Mukherjee football U-17 Girls winner of State Subroto Mukherjee Championship held recently, will represent Goa State at the “61st Edition of National Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament to be held at New Delhi from September 19 to 28, 2022.

WRD MINISTER VISITS MAYEM CONSTITUENCY

 Water Resources Department Minister, Shri. Subhash Shirodkar on Friday assured to undertake the work of various projects worth 5 to 10 crores in next two years in Mayem Constituency. He said WRD is very closely associated with the agriculture sector and assured all required assistance to farmers, including modern machinery, to revive agriculture in the State.

          He was speaking at an interactive session with Sarpanchas and Panch members of seven Panchayats of Mayem Constituency.

        Urging people to cultivate their fields without keeping the land idle he said that keeping agricultural land fallow is a crime. The land should be cultivated by next season and highlighted various central and State Government sponsored schemes which can boost the State’s agriculture production. He further urged people to start cultivation of Black rice.

    Directing all Sarpanchas to promote agriculture activities he informed that he will visit at Mayem Constituency on November 18 and interact and review various projects with Sanpanchas, Panch members, ZP members and Panchayat secretary. He further directed to prepare reports on the required projects and other requirements to carry out agriculture and extended his full support to carry out various projects to boost agriculture in Mayem Constituency.

       Present on the occasion were MLA of Mayem Constituency Shri Premendra Shet, Chief Engineer, WRD Shri Pramod Badami, and other dignitaries.

Civil Engineering Conference in the Asian Region( CECAR 9 ) the Exclusive Assemblia of Civil Engineering conference hosted by the Institution of Civil Engineers ( India) on the Theme Sustainable Design and Eco Technologies For Infrastructure was held in the city today. The award Ceremony was another event of the conference which was attended by the
the Governor of Goa, Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai.
The Governor, Shri Pillai addressing at the function said that we believe that world is one family. We aim that knowledge may come to us from any way from the world.  In the field of engineering the Governor said eastern countries are making remarkable development. Civili enginerring is as long as human civilization.Civil engineers have created marvels in infrastructure. Old and ancient monuments are manifestation of our engineering skill, he remarked.
The Governor speaking further said that exploitation of nature is not fair as human life depend on nature. We have to make our development sustaining to our environment. Civil engineering had helped immensly in infrastucture development. The Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh shows the outstanding skill of our engineers as well, he added.

The recipients of ACECC Civil Engineering Achievement Awards were Osama KUSAKABE (nominated by JSCE); Wei-Fuu Yang (nominated by CICHE); Shalendra Ram (nominated by EA) and Ir. Teddy Boen (nominated by HAKI) while ACECC Technical Committee Activity Award was won by ACECC TC-21 Trans disciplinary Approach (TDA) for building Societal
Resilience to Disasters (nominated).

PANEL DISCUSSION ON TRANSFORMING GOAN HOSPITALITY SECTOR INTO A EAT RIGHT MODEL HELD

 A panel discussion on the topic of “Transforming Goan Hospitality Sector into an Eat Right Model” In the Country held today at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium for World of Hospitality Expo.

          The Panelist included Mr. Richard Noronha, Designated Officer, Directorate of Food and Drugs Goa, Mrs. Dorothy Pereira, Manager, IHCL Hotels; Mr. Sanjay Bhandari, Head, Factory Corporate Affairs, Nestle India Ltd.; Pooja Bedi, Actor & Wellness Ambassador; Chef Sunit Sharma, VP, Culinary Forum of Goa & Culinary Mentor. A brief discussion was held on the topic which included Eat Right initiatives taken up by Food Business Operators and the challenges faced on the same, also the panelist provided the audience with their valuable insights and their ideologies on ‘Eating Safe and Wholesome Food’.

They spoke on the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and making conscious changes to our dietary patterns. The FDA in coordination with the FSSAI has launched several initiatives like Eat Rights Campus for institutes, offices, hospitals, jails which aims at ensuring the food served at such places is safe wholesome and sustainable. Similarly the other initiatives are Eat Right Schools, Hygiene Rating etc.

The panel members assured their support to the FDA in making Goa an Eat Right Model State and has sought the participation and cooperation from all food business operators as well as citizens.
