Goan Reporter News: Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs allocates ration quota for the month of June, 2023.

The Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has allocated ration quota for the month of June, 2023 under National Food Security Act, 2013 Antyodaya Anna Yojana and Priority Household (AAY and PHH), Tide over (APL), Welfare Institution Scheme.

The allocation for Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) is 35.00 kg rice per card at free of cost, for Priority Household (PHH) category 5.00 kg per beneficiary is allotted at free of cost, for Above Poverty Line (APL)(Fortified Rice) 10.00 kg rice per card at Rs. 12.50/- and Above Poverty Line (APL) 5.00 kg wheat per card is allotted at Rs. 10.00/- and For the category of Welfare Institution Scheme, 15 kg per inmate either rice/wheat is allotted at Rs. 6.15/- per kg and 15 kg wheat per inmate either rice /wheat at Rs. 4.80/- per kg.

All the Fair Price Shops Dealers are informed that the quota lifting should start with immediate effect and they should lift their released quota on or before May 31, 2023 strictly and no extension would be granted for lifting. The ration card holders are required to take their entitlement for June, 2023 from their respective Fair Price Shops.

The Fair Price Shops are required to display the details of stocks as well as sample quality of grains for consumers information and all cardholders/consumers are requested to give their complaints, if any to the respective Civil Supplies Inspector of Pernem/Bardez/Bicholim/Sattari/Tiswadi/Ponda/Salcete/Mormugao/Quepem/Sanguem and Canacona Taluka or Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Junta House, Panaji-Goa.

Goan Reporter News: A planned shutdown has been arranged at 220/110/33/11 KV Tivim Substation in North Goa on May 28, 2023 from 06.00 am to 12.00 pm for Pre monsoon maintenance affecting Bardez and Pernem Talukas.

The public of Bardez and Pernem Taluka are informed that a planned shutdown has been arranged at 220/110/33/11 KV Tivim Substation in North Goa on May 28, 2023, from 06.00 am to 12.00 pm to carry out pre monsoon maintenance of 220 KV and 110 KV equipments like Bus isolators, Transformer Isolators, breakers etc. and replacing of one section of the existing 110 KV Main bus with twin conductor. Therefore there will be no power supply to electricity consumers of the entire Bardez and Pernem Taluka.

Power supply will be made available to essential services like Assonora water works and District Hospital etc. as informed by the Department of Information and Publicity.

Goan Reporter News: DM North Goa, Imposes ban on digging & Cutting of all types of roads, including National Highways, State Highways, Major District roads, Road-Shoulders, lanes, thoroughfares etc. during the monsoons from 01/06/2023

The District Magistrate, North Goa has imposed ban on digging and cutting of all types of roads including National Highways, State Highways, Major District roads, road shoulders, lanes thoroughfares etc during the monsoon as these activities pose imminent danger and disruption to the life of motorists, pedestrians and General Public

The Order states that no person, agency, organization, Government Department, local body, Public Sector undertaking etc. will undertake any digging or cutting of any of the public roads and its shoulders including on all the city & village roads without prior written permission.

Further the order also states that provided that this prohibition will not be applicable to any road digging done by any Government public utility service providing departments such as electricity, BSNL and PWD for urgent repairs of electric cables, telecommunication cables & pipelines also digging by local bodies for repairs of road and for diversion of water in emergency cases will not attract restrictions contained in this Order; It is further provided that such emergency digging will be covered immediately within less than 6 hours of digging and properly paved/cemented within 24 hours

Any person, agency or department etc. contravening this order will be liable for punishment under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
This order will come into effect from June 01, 2023 and will remain in force for 60 days.
