Goan Reporter News: Results of incentive scholarship examination
State Council of Educational Research and Training, Alto-Porvorim, had conducted Incentive Scholarship Examination (Pradnya Shodh), 2023 for the students of Std IVth on April 23, 2023 in Marathi, Konkani & Urdu medium at 12 venues in all the 12 Talukas from Goa. A total number of 3338 students from 600 Primary Schools including Govt. and Govt. aided Institutions from rural and urban areas had enrolled for the Examination, out of which 3165 appeared and 173 were absentees. The weightage of marks were language (30), Maths (40) and EVS (30).
The results of the Incentive Scholarship Examination, 2023 was declared on June 12, 2023 and a total of 284 students qualified for the award of Scholarships for the year 2022-2023 in various categories from Rural and Urban areas from 12 talukas. The awardees will receive a Meritorious Certificate and an Annual Scholarship of Rs 2000/- per student/ per annum from Std Vth till successful completion of Std Xth. The number of Scholarship awarded Taluka wise and category wise for the year 2022-23.
Both Miss Kanishka Ulhas Naik from Dr. K.B. Hedgewar Vidhyalay, Curti, Ponda and Miss Jeevika Jairam Pagi from Govt. Primary School, Mashem, Canacona secured the highest 90% of marks while Mast. Aayush Digamber Matonkar from Shri Shantadurga Primary School, Bicholim, Mast. Vallabh S. Beknalkar from Prabodhan Prathamik Vidhyalay, Porvorim & Mast. Paras Devanand Velingkar from Govt. Primary School, Veling, Priol, Ponda achieved 89% of marks.
Goan Reporter News: District Magistrate restricts timing on liquor sale
The District Magistrate, North has ordered that serving or selling of liquor in all the liquor bars, pubs, shops, clubs, shacks or any establishment will be closed everyday by 10.00 pm., with immediate effect till the election Model Code of Conduct is in force. Such establishments can remain open and continue to operate without the sale and service of liquor beyond 10.00 pm. This order will not apply to those establishments, provision stores etc., which are required by law to be closed before 10.00 pm. This order will be applicable to above-mentioned establishments in the jurisdiction of Village Panchayat Parcem in Pernem Taluka and Village Panchayat St. Estevam in Tiswadi Taluka in North Goa District.
It may be informed that the Model Code of Conduct has come into force due to bye election of the Village Panchayat Parcem in Pernem Taluka and Village Panchayat St. Estevam in Tiswadi Taluka in North Goa District scheduled to be held on July 02, 2023.
If any liquor shop/bar or any establishment is found serving or selling liquor beyond the aforesaid timings, during the said period it will result in cancellation of licenses and the owner or offender will be liable for penal action under section188 of Indian Penal Code, 1908, Section 30 of the Excise Duty Act, 1964 and other relevant provisions of laws in force.
