According to sources from the state police department three to four police officers from delhi who are investigating in to the indian premiere league spot fixing issue have already commenced their work in goa where in the dehli police team have got a possibility lid of certain bookmakers to have stayed or are in goa presently and had played a vital role as bokkies for betting on ipl matches….
sources also stated that there was a possibility of the delhi police team also trying to investigate if one of the arrested player s sreesanth in to the spot fixing issue had invested any money in to real estate business in goa as few months back the former India cricket team player was down in goa to play ranji matches and had also stayed at one of a tourist spot in north goa …
Though most of the state police officials seem to be unaware of the delhi police team being present in goa as without knowing anyone the same is being separately handled by a top senior level police office in the state who is assisting the delhi police team
Speaking to goanreporter a senior level officer attached to the goa police department confirmed of the delhi police team being in goa and that the delhi police team were here for investigating specific information related to certain bookies connected with ipl betting being present in goa and that he could not related much more than that …
Meanwhile the state police officials on Thursday seems to have also reached to the office of goa cricket association and tried to inquire about certain information from gca office though one of the officials from gca denied to goa365 that the police officer had not come to gca in connection with the ipl spot fixing issue but had come to inquire for the gca ground requirement …
But one of the concerned gca members informed goa365 that no one had tried to contact the gca office till date and would cooperate with any investigating team if they needed any help from goa cricket association
Meanwhile throwing more light on the ipl spot fixing issue being involved in goa Fatorda mla through a press conference asked the state chief minister Manohar Parrikar for an immediate enquiry and make the findings public if any cricket betting syndicate was running in to the state of goa
Sardessai also said that he felt that the state government focus was to make goa a fixing capital of the country
