Panaji, August 15, 2018 … Let each one of us be the catalyst of growth in order to propel the nation to great heights said Minister for Panchayat, Shri Mauvin Godinho. He was speaking after unfurling the tricolour on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day which was celebrated at Tilak Maidan, Vasco, today.
On the occasion, Shri Godinho paid homage to the freedom fighters and said that we are free and secure because of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and the soldiers who defend us at the border. Shri Godinho further said that it is not only the government’s responsibility but it is also the duty of each one of us to contribute to building the nation.
Looking at the developmental work carried in every nook and corner of Goa, Shri Godinho stated that before 2022, Goa will emerge as the most progressive state, he added.
Also present on the occasion were Deputy Collector Shri Mahadev Arondekar, Mamlatdar Shri Satish Prabhu, Dy. Superintendent Police Smt Sunita Sawant, Joint Mamlatdar-I Shri Shripad Naik, Joint Mamlatdar-II Shri Ravi Nipanikar, Police Inspector Shri Nalasco Raposo and Former Speaker Shri Rajendra Arlekar .
