Panaji: Jan. 20th,2019 … The Goa Institute of Management in association with Women’s Leadership Forum organized a panel discussion on the topic ‘Pathways to Resilient Leadership’ on completion of its 25th year of inception, The Governor Dr Mridula Sinha was the chief guest for the inaugural function.
The Governor in her inaugural address said that leader emerges out of his vision, quality, and positive frame of mind, Sometimes leader also emerges out of accident he guides and governs people for collective interest and he is one who leads the society.
The Governor further said that becoming a leader, need to understand the leadership role and responsibility of being an effective leader. Individuals in a leadership role must strive to make better choices and decisions for the sake of others. She hoped that the panel discussion will deliberate on various issues of women leadership and will come out with better solution to encourage women leadership .
The Director of GIM Prof. Ajit Parulekar in his address said that Leadership is a vast subject. Leader have to motivate, instruct and discipline the people they are in charge of. They can accomplish these things if they are very skilled communicators. Because poor communication can lead to poor outcomes. Therefore leaders have to develop these skills to emerge strong, confident and opt for adequate outcome he opined. He also hoped that that the panel discussion will deliberate on various aspects of women leadership to develop women leadership.
The inaugural function was followed by panel discussion comprised with the participants such as Ms. Meers Shankar, Retired Civil Servant Indian Ambassador USA, Ms. Brinda Somaya, Arcchitect & Urban Conservationist/Founder SNK India, Dr. Maria Aurora Couto, Writer ,Historian, Educationist, Ms. Kshama Fernandes, MD & CEO,Arcand Ms.Niti Desai, Classical Dance & Designer, Founder Niti Design Lab
