Chief Minister Shri. Laxmikant Parsekar recently launched the new e-service at the high tech Registration Facilitation Centre (RFC) set up at the Paryatan Bhavan, Patto, on the occasion of World Tourism Day (September 27), in the distinguished presence of Minister for Tourism Shri. Dilip Parulekar, Chairman of GTDC Shri. Nilesh Cabral, Director of Tourism Shri. Ameya Abhyankar, Managing Director of GEL Shri. B.S Borkar and other officials.
The CEO GEL, Revati Mujumdar gave a walk through of the RFC to all the guests present at the function.
The Director of Tourism Shri. Ameya Abhyankar gave a detailed presentation on the new e-registration services for all tourism trades highlighting the main objectives of providing speedy and transparent on-line registrations.
The five stage on-line registration system is devised to process an application for registration of tourism trades within a period of 8-10 days (where no inspection is required) to around 12-14 days (in case inspections are to be carried out).
The new e-registration process has time based work flow systems which begins from the time an application is in-warded till the application is processed and approved by the dealing hand.
A major highlight of this new service is that an applicant will be updated at regular intervals via SMS/email on the status of his/her application. The following stages for data entry, scrutinization, intelligent verification, approvals and issue of authorized digitally signed registration certificates have all been integrated into a Single Window System for the Department of Tourism. Once approved and communicated, an applicant can collect the registration certificate after paying the requisite registration fees.
In the second phase, the Goa Electronics Limited (GEL) is working to introduce on-line payment facility and provision to download digitally signed certificates, online and horizontal linking with other departments namely Goa State Pollution Control Board, District Collectorates, Municipal Councils, Village Panchayats, Transport, Captain of Ports etc.
The GEL has developed the software application for facilitating the registration of various entities under the Tourist Trade Act 1982 and Tourism Policy.
Shri. Parsekar addressing the function said, “Tourism in Goa is a very important industry which provides job opportunities to local Goans. More and more young entrepreneurs want to be gainfully employed in the tourism sector through various tourism trades. This new e-registration facility will make it easier for all stakeholders, both new and existing, to get their services registered on-line.”
“Goa tourism is revolutionizing and the e-registration system is the beginning of a new chapter. I congratulate the tourism minister and his dynamic team along with GEL for launching this new service in the interest of tourism and all its stakeholders,” Shri. Parsekar said.
Shri. Dilip Parulekar said, “E-registration for tourism trades is going to boost the tourism sector in Goa in a big way. It has always been my endeavor to provide fast and transparent services to the people of Goa who are largely contributing to the tourism industry.”
