The Chief Minister who led the people of the State in paying tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the State level Chhatraapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti Celebrations organized by Department of Information & Publicity in association with Zilla Panchayat Member Bandora & Village Panchayat Bandora at Farmagudi near Ponda recently.
The Chief Minister said the great Maratha King Shivaji was known for his bravery able and shrewd administration and wisdom and also for planned development. He said Shivaji always stood for discipline and to protect the interest of the common man.
The function was attended by Minister for PWD Shri Ramkrishna Dhavlikar, Minister for Industries Shri Mahadev Naik, Minister for Factories and Boilers Shri Pandurang Dhavlikar Shri Lavoo Mamledar, MLA, Dr. Deepak Deshpande, Keynote Speaker from Sangali, Maharashtra, ZP member Smt. Chitra Phadte, Secretary Information & Publicity Shri Sudhir Mahajan, Director of Information & Publicity Shri Jayant Tari, Smt. Nayan Naik, Sarpanch of Bandora panchayat, Deputy Sarpanch Santosh Phadte and Shri N. Shivdas, President of Gopal Ganpati Devasthan.
The Chief Minister informed that this is the 386th birth anniversary celebration of Shivaji Maharaj and for past many years this annual event is celebrated in Goa at the State level. The legendary Maratha Warrior he said will always be remembered by the people for centuries to come for his vision, foresight and deeds. The Chief Minister also called for presentation and enrichment of moral values and to follow the thoughts and principles of Shivaji Maharaj to weed out corruption and for good governance.
Minister for PWD Shri Ramkrishna Dhavlikar said inculcating good virtues of Shivaji in the minds of people will be befitting tributes to the great Maratha king.
Minister for Industries Shri Mahadev Naik said that Shivaj Maharaj with his able leadership and qualities always won battles against his foes.
Dr. Deepak Deshpande who delivered the keynote address highlighted the qualities of Shivaji Maharaj in regard to his bravery, courage and wisdom in building Maratha kingdom.
Shri Lavoo Mamledar, MLA also spoke on the occasion.
The Chief Minister also released a book titled Mahiti Stotra written by Shri N. Shivdas, the president of Gopal Ganpati Devasthan.
Earlier Smt. Chitra Phadte, ZP member welcomed and Shri Santosh Phadte, Deputy Sarpanch, Bandora proposed the vote of thanks. Shri Girish Velguekar compared the function.
