31/01/2016 …. Stating that he was not taken in to confidence by his own government and tourism minister, Calangute mla Michael lobo has opposed the state government’s move of starting the helicopter tourism at the aguada fort fearing that it could disturb the natural habitat in the area
Speaking to goanreporter.com calangute mla Michael lobo said that the helipad at auguada bay could be used for emergency purpose but not for helicopter tourism which could disturb natural habitat in the area
Mr lobo said that he was with the people of his constituency specially the candolim villagers and would not mind to go on hunger strike to oppose the move of the government
Tourism minister dilip parulekar said that his department had just started the services to increase tourism in the state an nothing else
Meanwhile former calangute mla agnelo fernandes said that locals have a strong objection due to the disturbance of flora and fauna of the surrounding due to the start of helicopter tourism
