MARGAO: 13/08/2017 .. Arnold Oliviera netted a hat-trick as Holy Spirit Institute, Margao beat Regina Mundi High School, Vasco 4-0 to emerge South district winners in the Boys U-14 Subroto Cup inter-school football tournament organized by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) at the Cuncolim ground on Saturday. At half time the score was 3-0.
Arnold Olivera opened the floodgates in the15th minutes by his skill and dribbling past three midfielder’s with a sensible strike trough the defenders all of sudden. Holy Spirit continued their dominance and two minutes later, Arnold gave finishing touches to the ball by Anish Gadar, 2-0.
The Holy Spirit team which houses seven GFDC Academy trainees moved the ball from end to end and displayed great composure keeping possession of the ball for long spells. In the 22nd minute Myron Fernandes added his name to the score sheet, 3-0.
Changing over, the one-way traffic continued with Arnold securing his fifth consecutive hat-trick in the tournament off an assist by Nathan Rodrigues.
Holy Spirit will play the state level final against Fr. Agnel High School, Pilar on Monday at Duler Stadium, Mapusa at 11.00 am.
