HEALTHY AND PRODUCTIVE SOCIETY IS IMPORTANT FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH OF A NATION- AYUSH MINISTER

Panaji: March 08, 2019 :: Health is pivotal in growth and development of a society. A healthy and productive society is important for economic growth of a nation said by the Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shri Shripad Naik while speaking as chief guest at Ayurveda Youth Festival held at Dona Paula recently.

Shri Naik was speaking after inaugurating two days Ayurveda Youth Festival organized by Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India in  S.Z.Quasim hall, of National Institute of Oceanography at Dona Paula today.  The collaborators of the event were Raja Ramdeo Anandilal Podar Central Ayurveda Research Institute for Cancer Mumbai, Regional Ayurveda Institute for Fundamental  Research Pune, Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya & Research Center Shiroda-Goa and KLE’s Shri .B.M. Kankawadi Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Belagavi, Karnataka etc.

Shri Naik speaking further said that Ayurveda is not  merely a system of health care,  it is rather a set of disciplines that work together to create balance and harmony within us and with our environment.  It is based on the perception that life represents a relationship between soul, mind, senses, and body. It’s a unique combination of science and philosophy. for balancing the body’s physical ,mental, emotional and spiritual components that helps to heal sick, maintain the health of those who are well. And also prevent disease and promote quality of life.

Shri Naik also said that Ayurveda Youth Festival which has began from Feb.25th 2019 will serve to give a new impetus to the awareness and practice of Ayurveda and enhance  its relevance in contemporary society by simplifying and popularizing Ayurveda among the people of Goa especially the youth and vibrant Goans he added.

The Vice-Chancellor of Goa University Prof. Varun Sahani said that we have rich legacy of Ayurveda. We have to understand the very importance of the same and work to popularize among the people. He said there are varied challenges,  diseases like diabetes, cholera, coupled with life style diseases and increase in non communicable diseases where in cancer is touching every family in the country. Therefore he urged for concerted efforts like creating an institution of research and care of the patient be taken so as to overcome these diseases.

Dr Dr. Anuradha Bale, Principal Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya & Research Center, Dr Narayan S. Deputy Director General, Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India also spoke on the occasion.

Dr. Sanjiv Dalvi, Director of Directorate of Health Services, , Dr. G.P.Prasad, Asst. Director (Incharge) Regional; Ayurveda Institute for Fundamental Research Pune among those who present on the occasion.

Dr. Adarsh Kumar Asst. Director CCRAS New Delhi welcomed the gathering. While Dr. Dayanand Rao compered the function and Dr.S.N.GaidhuniAsst..Director   ( Pharmacology ) CRCS  New Delhi  proposed the vote of thanks.
