08/07/2014 … The Health Minister Shri Laxmikant Parsekar has said health and education are the basic necessities of the people and cannot be overlooked in terms of infrastructure for these sectors. The up gradation of Tuyem Health Center he said is a step of the Government to provide better medical services to the people of Pernem Taluka.
Shri Parsekar was speaking as chief guest after laying foundation stone for the construction of new premises for Tuyem Community Health Center at Tuyem recently. The function was organized by GSIDC. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 50 crores.
Shri Parsekar speaking further said that after the completion of the project Tuyem CHC will become full-fledged hospital. Tuyem CHC will be linked with GMC. The advanced medical facilities would attract Junior Resident Doctors to practice in this center leading to improve medical services in the area.. The renovation work is in full swing and would be completed soon to fulfill the long pending demand of the people he added.
Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, Shri Rajendra Arlekar while addressing said that the people of Pernem Taluka will get adequate medical facilities soon after the completion of new premises. This is an endeavor of the Government to provide better medical services to the people. He complimented the Health Minister for initiating steps for the said purpose.
Dr. Pramod Sawant Vice Chairman of GSIDC and MLA Sankhali in his introductory remarks informed that the GSIDC has now geared up to strengthen basic infrastructure for health and education sector in the state. He said that the Government believes in providing quality infrastructure. Therefore the Government with proper planning and through GSIDC has undertaken up gradation and improvement of Primary Health Centers, Sub centers to provide better medical services to the people in the state he added.
