15/11/2014 …. Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) played host to 40 children affected with cancer and undergoing treatment in Mumbai, providing them a 3-day fun-filled holiday along with their parents and doctors here in Goa.
The children arrived in Goa on 6th November’2014 by train from Mumbai and were enthralled by special hospitality arrangements made by the GTDC.
According to officials of the GTDC, the children were taken on special guided tours of important tourist spots in North and South Goa. These included the sandy shores of Calangute and Colva, Mangueshi and Old Goa.
A special one hour boat cruise on Santa Monica was also arranged along River Mandovi and a Goan cultural programme was presented to the special visitors on board the cruise vessel.
The Chairman of GTDC Nilesh Cabral said, “We provided all the facilities that the children needed during their stay in Goa and ensured that they had a truly enjoyable stay.”
The Goa Tourism Development Corporation organizes holidays for special children as part of the Community Social Service. Most of the children are undergoing treatment for cancer at various stages at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and providing them with a splendid holiday adds positivity and cheer to life, the
GTDC Chairman said.
