Residents of Velsao’s Primeirovaddo staged a united protest against the illegal dumping of construction materials linked to the railway double-tracking project. The dumping has blocked a traditional motorable access route, crucial for local residents, opposite Sandra Rodrigues’ residence. Villagers claim the Railways have no ownership over the land and possess documents proving their rights. Protesters called on MLA Anton Vas to intervene, stressing that the project threatens Goan land and livelihoods. They vowed to continue fighting for their rights, emphasizing the long-term harm the double-tracking initiative poses to their community and Goa’s heritage.
