The Directorate of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation has informed the Aadhaar Update Services can be availed at any Aadhaar Centre on payment of a nominal fee of Rs.50/- approved by the UIDAI, New Delhi. However, in order to encourage the residents to update their documents (Proof of Identity and Proof of Address) in Aadhaar, UIDAI has provided the facility of updating documents through ‘myAadhaar’ portal free of cost up to 14th December 2023.
In the interest of the residents, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has advised residents to update their supporting documents at least once by submitting Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) in Aadhaar on completion of 10 years from the date of Enrolment for Aadhaar. Keeping one’s Aadhaar updated helps in ease of living, better service delivery, enables accurate authentication and continued accuracy of information in the Aadhaar database.
Although, Aadhaar Document Update is not mandatory it is a preferred procedure in order to have the Aadhaar card up to date.
Therefore, the General Public has been suggested to take advantage of the facility and get their Aadhaar updated.
