The Directorate of Art and Culture, will be organizing Matoli and Dekhava competitions during the Ganesh festival to promote the age-old tradition of preserving biodiversity through traditional decoration.
The State level Matoli decoration competition will be held for individual householdsfrom September 09, 2024 to September 12, 2024and the prizes will be awarded as 1st Prize Rs.20,000/-, 2nd prize Rs.15,000/-, 3rd prize Rs.12,000/-, 4th prize Rs.10,000/- and 5th Rs.8,000/- and there will be five consolation prizes of Rs.5,000/- each.
State Level Dekhava presentation competition will also held for Sarvajanik Ganeshutsav Mandals from September 13, 2024 to September 16, 2024and the prizes will be awarded as 1st Prize Rs.35,000/-, 2nd prize Rs.30,000/-, 3rd prize Rs.25,000/-, 4th prize Rs.20,000/- and 5th Rs.15,000/- and there will be five consolation prizes of Rs.10,000/- each. However, in absence of significant number of participants, the department reserves the right to hold or to cancel the competition.
Interested household individuals and registered Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandals are requested to fill the application forms for participating in the competition from the office of the Directorate of Art and Culture, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji Goa. Applications forms will be available at various sub offices of the department namely Ravindra Bhavan, Margoa, Curchorem, Sankhali, Vasco and Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda Goa. The form can also be available on the website of the Directorate of Art and Culture www.artandculture.goa.gov.in. Late entries will be not entertained.
The application form will be available from August 09, 2024 and must be submitted and duly filled by August 30, 2024. The application can be submitted to any of the above mentioned offices.
