Goan Reporter News: Raj Bhavan felicitates practicing traditional skilled artisans

Governor, Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai mentioned the proverb work is worship and said every kind of work that we do must be respected, valued and must be worshipped. Every kind of work is important in each one’s life and must be appreciated, the Governor added.
First Lady of Goa Smt. Rita Shreedharan Pillai, Shri. Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar, Minister for Power, Smt. Pallavi Dhempe, Executive Director, Dhempe Group, Shri Willy Goes, Principal, College of Arts, Shri Mahendra Alvares, Renowned Artist graced the occasion.
Governor, Shri P. S. Sreedharan Pillai said that the Kaavi art has high place of prestige as it is still seen in Goan temples and churches besides Goan homes. I am impressed to know that the 25 artists guided by a young Goan artist, Sagar Naik Mule are ready to shoulder the responsibility of preserving this traditional art format.
The Governor also mentioned about various popular arts of other states and said kaavi art is part and parcel of Goa, which is to be safeguarded.
Addressing the people Shri. Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar, Minister for Power underscored the the changes that are seen at Raj Bhavan. He congratulated the Governor for taking various initiatives for the betterment of public through Raj Bhavan.
Shri Mihir Vardhan, IAS (Retired) Special Officer to Governor welcomed the guest and highlighted the importance of traditional kaavi art.
Later, the Governor felicitated Padmashree Shri Sanjay Patil by offering him shawl, sreephal and a memento.
25 artists who participated in four days kaavi art workshop including the instructor Shri Sagar Naik Mule were felicitated at the hands of Shri. Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar.
Raj Bhavan also felicitated 30 practicing traditional skilled Goans artisans during the Valedictory Function of the “Kaavi Art Workshop” held at New Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan today.
Governor, Shri PS Sreedharan Pillai and Shri. Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar, Minister for Power felicitated these Goan practicing skilled artisans by offering shawl, sreefal and a certificate.
