The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), North and South Goa respectively in coordination with Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), is conducting a National Tsunami Mock Exercise on November 5, 2024 at Morjim beach (North Goa) from 9.30 am till 2 pm and at Palolem Beach (South Goa) from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm to test and improve the standard operating procedures for tsunami response.
Evacuation process and activation of early warning systems will be carried out as part of the Mock Drill to test the efficiency of communication. Public is advised not to panic.
