The National Aids Control Organization under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will organize National Red Run on October 8, 2023 in the state of Goa. The finale will be followed by prize distribution ceremony which will be attended by students from various colleges, NGO’s and various Government Department Officials.
The joint meeting of stake holders conveyed to discuss on the event preparedness was held at Parytan Bhavan, Patto, Panaji recently. Dr. Gokuldas Sawant, Project Director, Goa State Aids Control Society chaired the meeting. Shri Utpal Das, Deputy Director, NACO and Smt. Parul Singh, Deputy Director, Youth Wing besides other state Government Officers attended the meeting and discussed threadbare on various aspects as regards to Red Run event.
The Red Run event will be of 10 km distance, wherein three winners from different states and Union Territories will be selected. Two Kms run is open for general public and students in the state.
The idea behind in organizing this activity is to generate awareness among youth and to actively involve them in disseminating information related life threatening disease i.e. HIV/AIDS besides adolescent health, mental health and other public health issues in the state
